remember back then i was a millan fan and enjoyed watching millan in ma dad's viewing center back then but i jus lacked the zeal and excitement watching them because their matches seems boring at a time and mayb it because its only ucl i do see them but not until i watched a Barcelona match and fell madly in love with gaucho..
gaucho was just too good, his endless skills, crazy passes, funny body faints and most importantly that ever smiling face with his big teeths and people even said he is using jazz and a magician back den..
i enjoyed watching him tru out the ucl games dt barca won arsernal, d way he dribbled and embarrassed dt millan mafian gattuso and dt crazy dancing goal he scored chelsea, even if he was silent in d final...gaucho won my heart to barca and messi cemented it till now and still happy i choosed them....

I didn't start supporting a football club until 2009. Though, I first knew about club football in 2006 during the Arsenal Vs Barca champions League final. I noticed Funaab students trooping into our flat that faithful night and I was wondering what was happening. Then the match started and it made sense why they were all in our flat. I remember watching the match with dem and the only player I heard them screaming his name was Henry, they were also calling him different names like Igwe, King Henry, vroom vroom titi King Henry. Everything didn't just make sense to me that night, though I watched the match, I still didn't understand all the hype the students were feeling that night, and after the match ended, I noticed most of dem left feeling dejected - I still didn't know why but I later got to find out why when I started watching football fulltime
Some three years later - that's 2009, I was in SS2 then, I remember going to watch a match - what made me go that night I don't know coz it was quite unusual, though the viewing centre is like a 2-mins walk from our house and the owner is a family friend. I got there and I started watching the match, I didn't even know which teams where playing that night, but I just noticed most people there where cheering for Drogba and I enjoyed it. The match ended in a draw - a 1-1 draw I think, and I noticed most people cheering for Drogba were sad and started leaving. I didn't understand why coz the match ended in a draw and I was expecting them to play a penalty to decide the winner so I was confused as to why the other team won despite the fact that the match ended in a draw. I remember tapping someone and asking him why the team in blue lost despite a draw, I remember the man mumbling something like "they lost because of away goals". I scratched my head coz I didn't understand the concept of away goals den, he tried his best to explain to me but I still didn't get it. Well, I felt bad because Chelsea lost coz I felt they were cheated {lol} because the match ended in a draw. And it was on that night a bond was forged and a loyalty for Chelsea was born in me, the rest like they say, "is history".
I got to understand why Chelsea lost despite a draw that night years later though {lol).

When I started following football games, I thought Arsenal were a french side because of the number of French personnel in the team. From the coach to their attack, to their midfield, and even their defence had great french players. Dad was also an Arsenal fan, so I subconsciously became one.
There came a time when a new 'sect' sprang up. People called them "noisy fans", "agbero club", but they called themselves "the millionaires' or billionaires' club". Little by little, I started asking for their matchday results and began to make mental notes that truthfully, they were good albeit 'proud'. One day, I sneaked out of the house to go watch Jay Jay Okocha humilliate this noisy fans and that was the first time I consciously saw them play football. O, what a day! This club gave my Okocha's Bolton a whooping 5-1. Just then, I knew that this would be the club I'd support. I fell inlove with the passion that transmitted from the fans to the players.

What inspired you to start supporting the Football Club you are currently supporting?

For me, it was sheer emotion. I'm an Arsenal fan. Before the 2006 UEFA Champions League, I had no definite clubside I support. I would always want the underdogs to win even if the odds against them was 100 to 1.

During the first half of the 2006 UCL final, Arsenal seemed to me to be the better side, they had more popular names compared to their opponent, Barca. So I wanted them to lose. It was a bad belle kinda thing. My support for Barcelona in this match was further heightened when Arsenal was a goal up. However, when Lehmann got that unfortunate red card and things started to fall apart for Arsenal, I began to develop a soft spot for them. Quickly in the second half when Barca started leading 2-1 and Arsenal was displaced to the underdog that I had always loved to support, I thought "oh no, this match mustn't end this way".

The rest is history.

They lost the match and I became one of their biggest sympathizers then and a fan till date. I'm actually regretting that now.

How and when did you start supporting your club?

I started supporting Madrid in the year 2000. The Champions League final between Madrid and Valencia. I was a kid then. I went to the chemist shop in the neighborhood and I saw the match on AIT. AIT just lunched their station then so they were showing the final to attract people. I stood at the shop entrance thinking, I love this team on black ( Madrid wore our second jersey for the final, ash color) Madrid won the match 3-0 to lift the trophy. When DSTV arrived Nigeria and people were supporting Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and so on, I stick to my Madrid and we have been through a lot together. Hala Madrid!!!

Me too, except the Moyes and Lvg reigns though I watched the top 4 clashes (lvg) as that's when we usually played better. I didn't watch most of 2-3 seasons, sad times, boring football. Then Mourinho stepped in and hope came in one window and jumped out the other. Well Solksjaer after plenty problems seems to be doing alright.

Exactly, solksjaer always has a different gameplan and preparation for every game, He knows his players ability and strengths. he keeps everyone happy and willing to play even the bad ass Pogba. He also knows his substitutions very well and when to change tactics. he is brilliant
