Information and good advice are also valuable, I was very happy when a young guy who teaches Music in a big private school on the Island and also has a music band that plays at Owambe parties on weekends. Called to thank me concerning the advice I gave him about 8 years concerning Investments, he claimed he was affected by the pandemic no weekend shows and 30% salary was being paid but thank God for his portfolio Investments that gave him coupons and dividend payments of over 900k between April and June 2020 17 Likes |

Sholapey: Exactly what i am currently facing... infact part of the reason why i have not be steady here Someone who i first assisted o and decided to reward me back... long story short, as things begin to look a little rosy... the kind of attack, hatred, envy, jealousy etc i get from him plus the ones i heard he said behind me... its becoming unbearable but i believe Wisdom is profitable to direct... Shockingly, i don't make up to 25% of what he makes in a month... its disheartening that this is coming from someone i first helped, someone i cheerish... Its sha well 4 Likes |

NL1960: If the deduction is automatic on salary credit then balance factor is of no significance. Is the inflow that is d most important factor not balance. I can decide to suddenly withdraw d attractive balance or change my pattern. I used to have large balance as result of left over from salary, now I keep not more than 50k. In d case u stated above d scenario could probably be 10% or less of ur monthly income by 3 years, giving u have been earning same in d last 5years or more. 10% of 100,000 x 12 x 3 = #360,000 |

oluwaleokey: It is an African thing, my boss met me at an Asset Management firm in Ikoyi about 15 years ago. Thank God, I didn't no go during office hours I went there during my annual leave. She asked what was I doing in that place? Do you know the type of people who go there ? She still called me to come and see in the office eventhough I was on vacation ooo. She later got to know that I have been a client for about 5 years and got a margin trading facility. I never returned to that place of work after my vacation. ahiboilandgas: That's a trait of enviness, when you buy or achieve a new milestone and instead of your friends to congratulate you and enjoy the moment with you but instead start complaining on how he would have achieved same if not because of this or that, shows he's not really happy for you and his wish are, why him, why not me or both of us. The point is many people are in a silent race with you unknown to you, so when you leave them behind, they get hurt. 9 Likes |

Akin3891: We are wired differently, I don't even expect congratulations from people. A car is a machine to move me from point A to B, why do I need the congratulations in the first instance because I have the toy. I won't equate the inability of others to congratulate me as envy, at times we need to ignore and not harbour certain conclusions. 6 Likes |

ahiboilandgas: It's the society Its the mentality It's the way many Nigerians were raised And j also say sometimes that its the colonial experience we had When people have been oppressed for so long They then seek who to oppress That's why African leaders are largely like the way they are They want to continue the plundering from where the colonialists left So that thinking of wanting to put others in "their place" and "beneath you" is just the issue 1 Like |

Sholapey: As you are doing better for yourself Their perception then becomes "THIS ONE IS NO LONGER UNDER ME O, OR DEPENDENT ON ME" as the case may be And that troubles them (those who think that way) And that's when the funny behaviours then start From the snide remarks To the smirk looks And for some terrible folks Diabolical moves 1 Like |

See what we have been saying. Shey a few weeks back when we were saying everyone should try and make the sacrifice of saving and investing, some people were making it look like we were being elitist and asking what of teachers. This is a teachers now clearly stated in your example who sought advice and made the sacrifice. I can almost swear that it was not easy for him when he started the investment and savings process but today he is better off for it. Now his fellow teachers may become envious of him even the principal who is supposed to be receiving more salary. emmanuelewumi: 7 Likes 1 Share |

Sholapey: Always better to keep good news to yourself and let people find out.. A parishioner was absent from the church for 2 weeks, the pastor now decided to visit him at home. When the pastor got to his house, he was surprised at the size of his Mansion and numbers of exotic cars in his garage. The man comes to church on Sunday with just 2 average cars. Unfortunately the pastor did not meet the man at home, he met his domestic staff. When the man came back, he decided to visit the pastor for checking on him. That he was sorry he travelled out of the country for 3 weeks for his vacation The Pastor said sir, why are you hiding God's blessings. You are so blessed, but you hardly give testimonies about your wealth, blessings etc. You even traveled to US for your vacation, you did not testify that you got a Visa to US. Infact the parishioner was surprised, if not embarrassed. 13 Likes |

Live below your means. Invest and have multiple streams of passive income. Avoid High Yield Investment Schemes and Ponzi schemes. Slow and steady wins the race 17 Likes 4 Shares |

emmanuelewumi: And to add Consistency is the key Make it a habit to set aside something every month JUST FOR INVESTMENT A young lady I advised years ago to be setting aside some money every month just for investment CONSISTENTLY (not you this month, skip the next two months, then half payment for the fourth month) She is reaping the benefits And she greets me very well anytime we get to encounter That's just what I wanted to add @barrydiv7 When investment becomes a HABIT It sticks with u forever 10 Likes 1 Share |
