You want make lindelof commit foul or make Zaha with his trickery run clear on goal. The shadow mark is an attempt to reduce shooting chance to a side and prevent him from cutting in in my opinion. Modern defenders are expert of this

Pogba no fit drive ball for midfield like that. And most of his dribbles are 'on spot" dribbles not "on the run". We just need someone like iniesta in that midfielders.
