U guys in hurry to open schools whether it’s safe of not. Is that a responsibile thing for any country to do??

We have seen county’s do it and get a spike in cases yet for self and retarded reasons some people want to risk the children’s lives. Well Nigerians are the type that like to see to believe.

Kudos to OYO STATE govt the pace setter, we have alighted from the slow moving Northgeria train since the inception of this month, and yet no record of Covid19 case among our students.
They should just leave the remaining south west states and show the Northgeria proper way to govern.

This is a ray of hope. The FG should ensure that the monitoring teams traverse schools in LGAs too cos most times these rules only apply to state capitals. It appears that the minister of state for education and the minister of education think differently. Judging by their actions, one amongst the two, doesn't seem to have loved school when he was younger.

Well, the rest of the country may not want to resume now.

The South west schools are resuming in August.

Yesterday or day before , the minister of state debunk it that school remain closed, to even think that he's an Igbo man.
Him should just make that Fulani adamu adamu reason that the rest of the country (esp south) values education, they (north) can go on with school closed.

they've even used one school in bornu to raised broilers cheesy

you deyy mind them.. .my friend that school in south africa, University of Pretoria to be be precise, have been going to school since June. their govt opened skl since june over there, and they have highest recorded cases and death in africa. I just pity nigeria and their obnoxious laws. I rest my case

Go and find work.
Set up a business.
Any time school resumes, you can go back.
..... If you are still interested in the education....

If you start making money in your business, will you still go back to school?

Where are the Nigerian Pupils and Students Locked Away or Quarantined?

I have followed comments from the government and other supposedly concerned citizens about keeping schools locked down because of concern for Pupils and Students lives or safety.

I am rather confused over the location of the Pupils and Students that are being referred to. Are they physically locked away from the rest of us? Where are they all quarantined?

Or are the Pupils and Students we are seeking to protect the ones I see playing football along the streets and in the fields in twenties and thirties in numbers? Are they the ones I see in large numbers at different busy spots along the express road hawking all manner of wares? Are they the ones I see visiting themselves and standing around, hugging and exchanging pleasantries in tens and twenties in number? Are they the ones that rich parents go shopping with and poor parents send to overcrowded markets? Are they the ones travelling from one corner of the country to another?

I need to be corrected, please. But from my observation, the Pupils and Students are already more than exposed on daily basis. So talking about exposing the students if schools resume is sheer hypocrisy or show of lack of 'ordinary' common sense.

Unless we have special set of Pupils and Students who all the while have been under lock and key, or who have been quarantined in special centers; then we are fooling ourselves.

Let me state categorically; the Pupils and Students that I know about are already over exposed in the context of relaxed intra and inter-state movements. Let's stop the hypocrisy! Let's stop fooling ourselves!

If the Pupils and Students Will be endangered in the school environment, then they are already more than endangered in the general environment! Not reopening schools, especially not allowing students that are already over exposed to write WASCE in the pretence of protecting them amounts to absolute ignorance.

Let the government policy decision-makers think deeply, please. Let the right policy choices be made. Let the government establish necessary guidelines and allow schools to reopen. Enough of crocodile tears. The Pupils and Students are already more than exposed!

Hahaha! That's where you get it wrong. You need the right tools to get the money. Managing your business rightly will maximize your getting the money. I am also a business person so, i know what im talking about.
I actually made the app for my business but decided to publish it cos i know there are intelligent business owners out there looking for something like goalPOS. The cost of acquiring an inventory system scares business owners away but goalPOS is very cheap, just 1k after 30 days trial and you only pay once and own forever. It does not require the internet to function, it does not require a laptop or desktop. Just your phone.
So, my dear you won't understand.

Honestly, Nigeria government tired me. Who do we offend to deserve these crop of leaders? The two ministers managing our education sector are parallel. With due respect to the to these two people they don't deserve to manage ministry of culture talkless education ministry where you expect to see people who understand what it takes to run such ministry.

To me these two men are confused human being. My candid opinion is that the terminal class such as JSS3 and SSS3 should resume to write their exams. Any parents that's not comfortable sending their wards to write exam should wait for next year. Majority of these same children we said they shouldn't write exam are moving about everywhere. Government on his part should be the one to put machinery is place in government own schools. Almost all the private schools that write WAEC already have what it takes to ensure the safety of these teenagers who to an extent can take precaution.

Having said that, I'm not in support of all the classes to resume school at the same time especially those younger ones in the primary school.
Don't we also have final year students in Universities and other higher institutions? So school's reopening should be all encompassing.
