Paying tax is not the issue. The issue is, what do the masses get in return? Will this money be accounted for?

You pay govt tax on rent and you step out to bad roads No water??

I wish I can like this a billion times.

What kind of government is this?, you want to tax people on rent after the other multiple taxes, house you can't provide for the people, then tomorrow one person will say bat swallow the money, one thing is that one section of the country pay while the other one that leave in bush and uncompleted building will enjoy the money, what a country we are leaving in, I know one day they will be deliverance on us all in Jesus name

I ask pro Nigeria agitators these questions all the time,

"Do you think your country cares for you?"
"What do you currently benefit from your country"
"Can you die for your country?"

The Nigerian government makes it extremely hard for citizens to live above poverty level. Always trying at all cost to squeeze the last drop of money from its citizens (that it offers little or no helping hand). When other nations are looking for ways to help cushion the drastic effect of the Covid 19 aftermath, your beloved country is making things harder for the people trying at all costs to survive. Of course, this would lead to an increment in house rents.

As Chinua Achebe would say, "There was a country".

You built a house on your own without govt. loans or assistance. (after settling omo nile plus corrupt govt. Officials for a land you legally bought), you decided to rent it out at a meaningful rate but the govt. Still wants to make huge profit from your own rent again.

Truly, Nigerians and their buisnesses thrive to survive "in spite" of their government. Imagine a country where the dream and vision of a majority of its youths is to get a visa and move out permanently sometimes even to poorer nations.

Clearly, this union isn't working, It is a civic duty for us all to clamour for the dissolution of this contraption, so we can all manage our resources to the best of our abilities as different tribal groups.

Unfortunately, dissolution will not solve the problem. The bad eggs in your individual tribes will not go any where. Only a revolution will.

Please what do government do with all this generated revenue? To turn around and embezzle sam funds by bare faced criminals acting on behalf of our common wealth. I think the current system is gradually pushing the masses to a point of revolt against this system.
What happened in Sudan two years back to Al Bashir- a very sit thight leader is not difficult to come to mind.
You can't continue embezzling monies without accountability and expect people to part with their hard earned resources for nothing.
Some of us are government on their own in places where we live currently in Abuja in this 2020. We provide our road, borehole, vigilante, generator for power.....haba! What is the benefits of paying these taxes abeg.

They can't rise up and confront their tormentors, their common enemies who have brazenly continued to compound their hardships without any care. What is there again to expect from the wicked, insensitive and highly nepotistic government of buhari if not more sufferings ?

Las,las una go get sense ! Continue to call yourselves " afonja" ,"ipob pigs" ,"aboki" etc online while your tormentors are laughing at your collective stupidity. 6% stamp duty ko,10% stupidity rate ni !

Dissolution is a means to an end. Revolution is an offshoot of dissolution.
Some people are actually comfortable with the current state of things while some others are not. The comfortable ones tend to drag the others backwards and scutter any plans for revolution.
With dissolution, any group that wants to kick-start a revolution within its confines can do so without troubling others that may be comfortable with the spate of affairs. Its simply a case of "to your tents oh israel".

This is unfortunate that the government we have has turn against it citizens.
The government has lost it. Government is the one to provide it's citizens accommodation, but has turned it back against them, asking the landlords and so called agents to collect stamp duty.
I call upon who ever that made the comment to resign in shame

I'm not against payment of tax because even saner clime pay more but will this revenue generated be chanelled to the right place?. Or will it be hijacked by another greedy modafoka?
.
We all know the answer to this. So I'm in conclusion that 'there are no saner clime anywhere , just saner people.
.
Until Nigerians wake up, this rubbish will keep on going on

Bro in saner clime they have jobs. Is when people have earnings u tax them. No earning around bro, people are feeding from hand to mouth. A large percent of Nigerians are living bellow poverty line and they Are talking about tax here and there, how will they pay the tax, from which job will they pay it.

You pay 10% for legal
10% for agency
Another 6% for stamp duty again. What concerns stamp duty and rent?

Its sad they don't care about the masses. Even if you want to introduce this, is it now of all times?

Average rent in Nigeria cities : N350,000

6% : 350,000/100 × 6 = N 21, 000

Shame on this jobless, useless and brainless government.

They are busy with bbn. By the time ASUU call of the strike and probably academic activities are rejiked, it will clear on their eyes.

BTW, I'd prefer the tax reduced to 0.6% or scrabbed. If you're to pay 70k for a self con hostel before, prepare additional 4.2k for buhari boys to take care of themselves.
