The truth is that we all have different objectives for travelling. My objective is to have more free time to work and repay loan I will collect, then have some good savings before 3 years elapse so that I could be able to relocate to another country and start a life.

There is no need for me being optimistic that I will get a job in UK except I switch to core IT or health related courses that will affect my chances of graduation and probably disrupt my hope of PSW. Besides I'm a lawyer. UK law firms are yet to employ 20% of their citizens with law degrees before considering migrants. Planning is very essential for me. I don't want to be blindly optimistic

As a law graduate, don't you think it'll be possible to align your PG pursuit with Social work? This has a better prospect.

While I am not a fan of this approach but it fine . The downside it can lead to confusion. If you are using multiple bank accounts then include a short cover letter so that the Vo is clear .

I am submitting three bank accounts
1 . Parent a x million
2. Parent b x million
3. Self x million
Total amount : xx millions

Thank you

I did my TB text today but when my result came out the doctor said he will have to tick abnormal for my chest xray. In the referral letter he ticked other findings and wrote HEALED LEFT 6TH PORTEVOR RIB FRACTURE
I spoke with the doctor and told him I got injured while playing football two years ago but he said yes its healed and I have no problem with TB that I can apply for the UK Visa application that if I had TB they won't issue me a certificate
Please am worried about this on my certificate chest xray ticked abnormal. hope it won't affect me during my visa application

It's okay. An abnormal test doesn't always mean that you have TB, it only means that there's something not normal on the test and in your case, it's not TB because the referral has stated what caused the abnormality.

The test is just to check if you have TB or not. If your certificate was issued, it means you don’t have tb. Every other thing is more or less inconsequential.

In summary, you have nothing to worry about.

Don't panic.
The doctor mentioned the abnormality on the form, and cleared you of TB.

I know this my post may be deleted (as usual), but I think we really need to wise-up a bit on this thread.
You went to a DOCTOR.
Doctor tested you, gave you result, explained the results to you and told you not to worry as it’s ok.

You come on Nairaland, to seek assurance from faceless, unknown people who don’t know more than the doctor you went to see.

Can you see there is something not right ?

Trust your doctor, not Nairaland ‘doctors’

I don’t blame the person, sometimes pressure can make you seek a second, third or even a fourth opinion,

When I went for my Tb test, the result actually got delayed, people that did after me got theirs and even left, at a point I went to meet the doctor and asked what’s going on, that was when he explained that X-ray readings have to be sent out of Nigeria and wait for the result before issuing Tb certificate,

He further explained that if it came back positive , I’d have to start TB treatment that’ll last 6-9 months shocked shocked shocked (I was scared Ohhhh)

Finally it came out normal and negative after some hours, (now imagine I wasn’t able to get it that day, I’d be extra worried too)

These things do happen.

Shut up, you.

States clearly "healed fractured rib".
No other trace of TB found.

In some cases, yes, TB can be involved in rib fracture (cough fracture, I believe its called, I stand to be corrected).

But in your case, the doctor found no trace of TB and stated as much.

Some schools don't accept cash for security reasons. Check your school's policy on this.
Yes, you can carry £6k tuition in cash and as soon as you register in school, get a status letter (some banks require this in addition to your school ID, passport and BRP while some don't request for a status letter) to enable you open a bank account.
I'd advise putting your cash in a £ card (you can pay with this online or using your school's POS) if possible because that's safer since you won't be opening an account till after you register with your school and pick your BRP.

In the UK. Once you sort your accomodation, you can open a monzo account from your phone using your passport/any govt issued ID and get your debit card in 2-5 working days or get a status letter from your school (after your enrolment) to open a traditional bank account. For Monzo, you can pay the £ cash you had from Nigeria into your account at any post office since it's not a brick and mortar bank.

If you have to do it in Nigeria, it can be daunting because most banks give the $ card so if you get that, you need to fund your card with $ before you leave (this might end up being expensive in the long run). If you can get a £ card in Nigeria, then you can fund that through transfer to enable you do pos/web payments in the UK; you will only be able to withdraw Forex deposited in cash via cash.

Follow mimilyrics advice but another suggestion is to obtain PTA to collect dollars or its currency equivalent at CBN rate before you travel. Do not use black market:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nigerianbanker.com/forex-requirement-for-personal-travel-allowance-and-in-nigeria/amp/

You can then use your Nigeria online banking account to pay your school fees through FX transfer.

grin As I stated then, it was a temporary note of caution as a result of the UCard issue pending when the FCA fixed the loopholes that were existent then. The Ucard issue has been sorted now and the loopholes fixed.

Monzo is to get the OP ready for transaction upon arrival in the UK before shopping for other banks after sorting enrolment and settling down.
