Its same format as the 2014 WC, we can even play Senegal, except they want to use FIFA ranking with seeded and unseeded teams.
Yep, FIFA ranking will be used. Top 5 teams can't play themselves

Abiodun Baruwa interview
How has it been since your retirement from active football?

I’m doing great in United Kingdom with my family. We are all here and everything is fine.
I have been in London for the past 16 years and I have established my company called BRW Sports management. The company is about seven years now. Our main task is to scout for talented players in Africa, including Nigeria.
I have also obtained the Level One and Two certificates as goalkeepers’ coach from the English FA and another certificate as an outfield coach. At the moment, I’m planning to return to Nigeria to coach any of our national teams or any club.

What efforts have you made to actualise your dream of coaching any of the national teams

Thank you for the question. I spoke with the Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, about my intent to coach any of the national teams.
We had a brief telephone conversation. I also sent him my resume along with my photographs while I was in the national team for him to remember me.
So, If I’m given an opportunity, I would prefer to coach or be part of the Under 23 or Super Eagles’ technical crew.

So, what was the NFF president’s response

For me, his response was not encouraging. On the day I spoke with him, he said he was in a haste for a meeting and that I should call him back. Since then, he hasn’t picked my calls. I opted to send him messages on WhatsApp and he still didn’t reply to all the messages I sent him for about a year now. I hope, someday, he will consider me and give me audience.

18 yrs old, Central midfield talent, Ishaq Abdulrazak played only the first 45 mins for his side, Norrkoping as they played out a 3-3 draw against their hosts, Falkenberg in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

He was actually played out of position on the right side of attack in a 4-3-3 formation. He kinda struggled a bit with the role today.

Like I said before and corroborated in some ways by what Nerd wrote about posting unrelated materials on the thread, this thread is where we deliberate on Nigerian players , our football development , its challenges and related matters. It should not be used as a platform by some people to have their gathering and enjoy the audience of ardent posters while derailing the purpose of the thread.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 3:42pm On Jul 26, 2020
There will always be off-topics from time to time.

That's inevitable as discussion must lead to discussions. Only that we must try have a control over how far we take it. We must employ some form of moderation in how far we derail. We must always as matured people know when to cut things short and return to the main purpose of the thread. That way, we give this thread more prestige and not turn it into a place for junk posts on anything foreign to it or a Mini-EPL or Mini-Euro clubs thread.

Anyway, I explained a bit more in my subsequent reply to my good friend, TheGoodJoe. Right now, I really wanna go get set to see two games at once. On my gadget and on TV. grin Today na Today. Either Nacho or Ndidi get that UCL ticket or they "die" trying. angry (Abeg, no be actual die... Ehen.. Na just equivalent of "give your all" grin ).

Utonwanne:

I understand you but thread won't be entertaining without some off-topics

Can you shed more light on "Derailing and unrelated post about La liga or EPL"?

I just pray you don't live close to any Chelsea fan around you. grin

But if it would take Chelsea losing or Man Utd losing for Nacho and Ndidi to make the UCL, then I hope either or any other scenario favoring our guys, happen.
As sentimental as that sounds, I cannot help it. I am rooting for our lads. Come what may... Whether we bag UCL or not... I am with them. Let's go there. cheesy

Please... Who witnessed that beautiful piece of skill from Iheanacho on the turn before laying a pass around the 19mins mark or so? Lad is balling. Maguire has even picked up yellow b'cos of him. But I hope Leicester turns this pressure play on man Utd players into something awesome.

Iheanacho just blew a chance ooooo!!!! Nice run towards Man Utd's box with the ball but he bloody scuffed his shot!!! He went for his right!!! Kaaaiii... Leicester should be ahead. And he made the right choice not passing to Vardy b'cos Vardy was in an offside position sef but he should be burying that had it been taken with his left foot.

Nacho abeg work on that bloody right foot!!!

De Gea's goalkeeping woes continue... spilling an easy ball from Iheanacho. Vardy was a second too late otherwise United would've been one down.

Iheanacho fooled the Man Utd defence with an unexpected lay off pass to Tielemans who should have done a bit better than he did. Leicester went close again. Nacho again creating a chance.

Also, shout out to Ndidi... Mehn, he has been masterful in that midfield. The way he shields the ball and pick his passes under pressure have been impressive. Yes he gave the ball away very few times like Nacho too but Ndidi have been so impressive to watch today. What a player.

And then, why is Pinnick avoiding his calls, tell him point blank, once we're in need of your services we'd let you know, but for now, no vacancy.

That's why I like them Whites sometimes. They tell you what they've got on their mind not minding how you feel.

With a good DM in the eagles, I would experiment Ndidi in the CM. Dude controls the midfield like a veteran

He's the best Fox on the field today so far. Dominating and fooling incoming tacklers. Leicester have all to lose. Nacho may score.

I guess that would still make us more defensive . Rather we need more central attacking midfielders who can control the game and provide more goals from the midfield.
You are quite right on Ndidi now being able to control the game and trade a wide range of delightful passes. His market value will definitely be on the up.
