Abeg educated that wimb for me
80% of the things am seeing on this thread I am not sure any state in the SS or SE has achieved it.

Port Harcourt is an ancient city older than uyo. Comparing the age of uyo and Port Harcourt plus the fact that uyo started earning oil money in just less than 15years after it's boundary adjustment issues. When Rivers State has been earning oil money for decades. Uyo is the fastest growing state in the south after Lagos.

I can debate this with anybody

St Gabriel Coconut Oil Refinery
This is currently the largest Coconut oil refinery in Africa..

Don't fail to tell us names of the investors of these factories

Stop misinforming people here by hyping the government of the day.

Tell us the budgetary allocations of these industries, we are not fools here. In other words, how much did Akwa Ibom State Government budget for each of these industries

A breakdown please

You can also show us the budget lines to back up your claims

Thank you

More is expected from the richest state in Nigeria with just 5 million people.

On top of that, Akwa Ibom is the 3rd state with the largest Debt in Nigeria with N240.0 billion.

Not impressed.

Most of these factories are privately owned; I think these projects are too low in standards taking into consideration the amount of money that state receives as monthly allocation

A further break down of the debts owed by the sub nationals showed that Lagos state led the pack with a total debt stock of N444.2 billion, followed by Rivers state which owed N266.9 billion; Akwa Ibom state, N240.0 billion and Delta state with N230.8 billion.

Other highly indebted states are Cross River, N165.9 billion.

4 out of the top 5 largest debtor states in nigeria are in the SS.

Sad.

Has I said before...is funny when non Akwa Ibomite now criticize the state but since most of you are illiterate... I will leave you with the attachment below..
But when you are criticising my state just mention urs so that others can judge your allegations ...

Finally if Akwa Ibom currently the most cleanest state in Nigeria is full of slum as you rudely accused...then Nigeria as a whole is bed of slum..since Akwa Ibom is currently the cleanest state in Nigeria..

Again learn to criticize constructively without hate or jealousy . You can find attached for your education

The argument you put up here does not change the fact that the allocations of Akwa Ibom are in the hands of the few, the rest of the people are poor.
What you are doing now (hallelujah boys club) is positioning yourself in order to get your own share (crumb), though you may not like to admit it, we understand.

I quite agree that Akwa Ibom, aside flyovers, are largely slums and this has no connection with it being the most cleanest City in Nigeria.
Apart from the beautiful and clean roads, we have nothing else to showcase...

Stop defending this thing
You are making things difficult for the common man

This is the problem, it's hard not to give him any credit for bringing investors into his state to create jobs and expand the state's IGR, but the problem and the main elephant in the room is Akwa Ibom collecting the largest allocation in Nigeria and also the 3rd largest state debt in Nigeria with little or nothing to show.

I do understand that some of the borrowed money came from Akpabio who actually commissioned less than 5 projects in his 8 years in office.

Akwa Ibom is the richest state in Nigeria with just 5 million people but looks like the poorest state in Nigeria.

As usual Nigerians not wanting to embrace how bad situations are. Is it not the same state that there is no such thing as pipe borne water, the same state with bad electricity supply, the same state with stupidly costly food, the same state with bad healthcare facilities, the same state with a large amount of poor people haba. My state is not good at all to my taste, but as a Nigerian I have the right to live in whichever state I want to live and to also complain about the bad amenities of that state, akwa ibom has good security of course and a very good and cheap transport system but the lack of jobs, water supply, good public schools, adequate power supply and the list goes on is terrible. Bet me someone would insult me even after saying the truth well.

do you stay or work in AKWA ibom state?

The government shouldn't bother trying to industrialize the state, instead they should focus on socialist policies, to build capacity. That way, development will be private sector led.

Never known any country, city or state to develop through public sector led initiatives. That's why it looks as though the governor isn't do as much as he should, when in reality he is. Akwa Ibom and every other state in Nigeria doesn't make enough money to develop its state using public funds alone. It needs the private sector to lead. And the only way it can do that, is by creating a private sector.

90% of all the development projects in Anambra for example, are private sector projects.
Well Rwanda developed through Govt policies and business

I though you people like to say we ''do not manufacture common toothpick in Nigeria''?

Now he's showing you more advanced levels than toothpicks and you're asking ''what's the big deal?

Confused people.
They're really confused. few years back they were saying Akpabio should leave roads constructions and build industries that Akwaibom needs to be industrialized, that we don't even have a common toothpick factory, according to them "na road we go chop"... few years lata, Udom is building good industries. at least I can count five of them and even if those five are employing 200 people, are they not Akwa Ibomites?

The syringe factory produces the highest syringe in Africa second only to the one in south Africa I think, but yet they are still angry and lambasting the project.

Have come to see it is mere jealousy in their part. if Wike was to be the one to have established this industries, we will certainly not hear word.

Forget all these talks. we are all doing this to bring investors to our states. remember good publicity can turn a state or city to something extraordinary. Rwanda is showing it.

The Rwanda govt have their own short comings but you will never see that in the media cause it might send investors away but see Rwanda now, just like Dubai. I'm proud of that country to be honest. and I hope Akwa ibom follows it footsteps.

The aspect of the news that exponentially catches my attention is the one that says Akwa Ibom can survive without federal allocation. Competing with Lagos; a fit uncommon considering the monopoly of that states' political actors in terms of making sure they fight to block competitive businesses. But Akwa Ibom against all odds, will soon become the Callifonia of Nigeria.

Lol... Op you did well, truly the governor is working.. I still don't understand why southern states keep envying themselves... They need to love themselves, hardly will you see a northerner hating another northerner because he is progressing...Even if we divide this country, that same hate will still destroy southerners...
One thing I love about some northerners is that,no matter how much he earn in a day or month or the dirty job he does, he will still appreciate God and move on...
