Bad governance is the bane of Aba. One of if not the best planned city in Nigeria.
You have no biz with traffic cos if there's a problem with this route, there are several other routes to follow immediately. The disadvantage is that it gives hoodlums alternative routes for escape.

If pH rd, Ariaria, ngwa rd! Ohanku, obiohia and the inner roads are completed, waste duly managed and geometric power finishes their work... Na helele.

BTW Ponponkon I never see you since. I need to meet your principal

Lol. But the funny thing is , a grid system may be a disadvantage to Nigeria ( room for escape for criminals) but a great advantage to advanced countries. A much coordinated security will benefit from a grid system.

If only we can get the tarring of inner street roads down, it would be hard to tell the difference.

I noticed that any neighborhood in the east that has well tarred inner roads tend to have that foreign look to it especially owerri.

That is because modern structures which is individual part and city planning are already in place, what is left is for government to do their part

Unfortunately the reverse is the case here. My family house is there. Once hoodlums visited and a tenant called the police. You can imagine them lamenting how there are routes everywhere making it difficult to block them.

Individual development outpace the govt own 100 to 1.its so bad that when individuals, corporations, religious bodies etc decide to do govt job for them, they will stop them or tax them so heavily which will discourage them.

Abia needs deliverance. Their leaders are devil incarnates!

Not only that, but also sweep the inner-city streets regularly, and plant/maintain enough greenery! See how nice the surrounding of that Aba temple looks with its pristine lawns.

That Niger Bridge one is proof that we dont need to do much to Beautify our cities

Plants flowers and trees
Tar the inner roads
Put refuse dump in crowded areas
Put street lightnings

All these things are just bare minimum and yet our so called governments are struggling to do them.

Some of the streets being built by Gov. Hope uzodinma in owerri.
The only thing I hate about imo is it is a 'one city' state unlike other eastern states. Okigwe has a very captivating landscape and scenery with a cold/soothing weather, but previous governors had ignored the region .

Okorocha during his first term promised to give Orlu and Okigwe same attention as Owerri. But we waited and waited for eternity. Hopefully Hope will change the situation.

Every eastern state should have a least two to three major cities.

Ibadan remains more developed than the entire Igboland...fact.

Igboland is tiny, undeveloped and gradually becoming a desert. grin

Look at the little 'full of brown roofs' babies you are comparing with Ibadan that has the largest number of GRAs in Nigeria.
Poverty is biting you skull eaters.

Like seriously you don’t have anything better to do. It’s better to remain silent and look smart than to open your mouth to expose your foolishness.

words of advice: Give up! Ibadan is a confirmed slum. Even United Nations knows it and they wrote a detailed report about it.

Please don't argue with these map carrying people, "true worth of a nation is not by landmass but it's economic prowess"

You are the most ignorant mind from Southwest here on nairaland, very poor sense of reasoning, you always show your poor sense when intelligent minds are discussing, just like the nominal GDP discussion, you always show your poor reasoning, you measure Onitsha town which is one of the towns that made-up large Onitsha metropolis, Google can only give you the size of a town not the sub-towns, Onitsha metro doesn't end in Onitsha town, Onitsha town is even the smallest among other sub-towns like Obosi, Nkpor, Ogidi Ogbunike, Nkwelle, Oba , Umunya, Anambra is second most densely populated state after Lagos, Anambra is highly urbanized with 21st century buildings not like Ibadan 94% of the city covered by mud houses, dumbo we are in 21st century, be smart to use your brain not your joystick
