jidestroud: How do you handle/manage their feces? Do you dispose them? Do you sell to local farmers as organic manure? If you were able to sell to local farmers, how did you source for them?, how do they buy- the quantity, how many kg per bag, how much per kg? |

babakk2:Like someone said, the probability of noilers/kuroilers going broody is quite low. I had two out of 7 kuroilers going broody after they had both laid close to 38 eggs . (why I had to resort to incubator usage) 1 Like |

Limitless72: Most of the time, i compost my manure to be used for my veggies. I rarely have enough to use during planting seasons not to talk of selling out. 1 Like |

As you can see, this is the downside of crossing hybrids. Attached is a picture of the chicks from the same mother hen (black kuroiler) and a Male Rooster (Ross 308). Both hatched the same day, with just 5mins apart. I am guessing the other is a runt . And they are both male chicks having inspected both. Age: 23 Days

Good afternoon Mr Jide, I must commend for the eye opener on poultry business you brought here. Ever since I stumbled on this thread, have been putting things in place to set a mini poultry up. At least 100 birds . But, I need your advice on the number of birds that will be suitable for the measurement. Am using my backyard for the mini poultry. 1st option: 15l by 15b ft How many birds is suitable for this space without choking the birds 2nd option: 15l by 30b ft Same question Thanks jidestroud: |

gungab:Thanks for the positive feedback. May I ask what birds you intend raising so I can do the calculations? Broilers? layers? Cockerels? or Noilers? I have already given hints above though. |
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by gungab(m): 9:00pm On Aug 17, 2020 |
jidestroud: Thanks for your response Sir. Actually, I was thinking of rearing it for sale by December. I would like to go for broiler, but heard they consume alot of feed and also waste feed. Layers on the other hand is good if I can know when it will be ready to lay as I cannot afford point of lay for now. I will consider Cockerel or noiler for now but do well to enlighten me on others breed Thanks 1 Like |

Good people of NL I need your help. I want to raise 300 broiler birds but don't know how much will be enough to raise them to 2kg for 6 weeks. Also: would you recommend branded feed or I propound my feeds? if to propound feed how do I go about it? the vaccination process how do I administer it? thanks in anticipation |
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 9:26am On Aug 19, 2020 |
gungab: Sorry for the late response, bn engaged with my tomato farm in the past days & also sales of this current batch of Noilers raised. If you are thinking December my Oga, please and please think Broilers. Nothing else will work. Layers for egg production? Well, layers start to lay at around 20-21 weeks (5th Month) of age and continue to lay for 12 months. Cockerels for me is a capital NO!!! But I have come to realise, it depends on market availability/acceptability. Noilers, Yes!!! But won't make December market. No try am. 2 Likes |

Finally, it's the 4th Week The Noiler birds clocked the 4th week today and it is yet another successful breeding season. 4 mortalities (3 on delivery and I stepped on one ) recorded so far and that's 100% of the 350 pieces gotten and 98.87 of total stock of 357. It's time to get them to their new owners. 3 Likes

Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 10:28am On Aug 20, 2020 |
Fundango: A difficult one if you ask me, since both birds exhibit virtually the same characteristics; An imitation of one another. Nevertheless, having bred both to maturity under intensive, semi-intensive and A total free range system, the kuroiler takes the trophy. They are heavy birds with better feed conversion. They are hardier birds compared to Noilers in a free range system. Although the Noilers lays earlier (most of mine starts at the 4 month) but the kuroiler lays bigger eggs and more. But my brother, Kuroilers dey chop oooooo!!! 3 Likes 1 Share |
