7pages: Also check if the rubber seal on the water reservoir cover is ok (O ring rubber) it could also cause overheating if it is not okay. |

Bros if you dey Lagos State, carry your car come itire , after iyana isolo bustop, nah itire best mechanic for golf and Audi cars in Nigeria, they gets the faulty parts inside the itire markets. My second advice for you, Remove the thermostat regulator and condemn it. Let the hose from engine block goes directly to the water pump without any blockage . Remove the water return hose to know whether your water pump is working or faulty, if water doesn't return it means your water pump is faulty. Remove your radiator , please if there is any leakage on it please don't gum, don't add adhesive, don't give it to iron Smith for welding, please buy another tokunbo direct Belgium radiator from itire or ladipo market it is below 15k. Check your cooling fan, and convert it to direct without putting relay. Check for hose leakages. Drain your engine oil if turns milky it means you have a bad top cylinder gaskets I.e there is a mix of oil and water, change your gaskets. 3 Likes |

I am talking about a part I deal on and it's Volkswagen and you are still teaching what mechanics has been doing for years. Am not talking about any other brand other than VW. Go and ask a VW mechanic, and stop teaching what you know nothing about. Dangerous dealer indeed says a blind man leading a full sighted man. [quote author=7pages post=92868004]Nairaland Car Gurus please help me find permanent solution to my golf 3 car(America spec) doing overheating barely every day I started experiencing this over heating after the change of fuel pump and speedometer censor was changed by a recommended Rewire I'm using this golf for commercial business, nothing give me any issue in the car than this over heating, is becoming embarrassing when I carry passengers and it started. the car is clean and engine is working fine it's relay today, it's the water in the radiator boiling tomorrow, I'm becoming sick of this. my mechanic told me when it started this night that my gasket is damaged in the process. Change the radiator to 3 cells. You are having 1 or 2 cells coming wt it. Then from a friend's exprience of Jeta one of the hoses had a tiny mark through which the water leaks on motion only. It was the mechanic of the new buyer that detected it.change or check the hoses |

7pages: From a similar experience of this car Listen and listen and listen to me. I mentioned listen for you to know that I know what I am saying. 1. Replace the water pump, I am very sure that the blades Javed chopped off and reduce in size, this will not allow proper water pressure to circulate. 2. Check for leakages 3. That radiator needs internal flushing there are too many corrosion inside. After washing the radiator use Air-condition waste water to fill the radiator, or distill water, this will further remove the corrosion and stop the corrosion. 4. Check the water that goes into the car dash board . 5. Lastly make sure that water pump is replaced, don't let them confuse you that a chopped pump blade will not cause overheating. Thank me after u do the above 1 Like |

Check for lickages on the water hose especially the ones behind the engine. They don't always lick except at high temperature and pressure then they let out steam. So its advice you run the engine for at least thirty minutes, off and listen carefully for hissing sound from wick ruptured hose. I believe that replacing this hose will put an end to the problem. |

7pages: A friend once told me something about volks and overheating. Said it usually that plastic reservoir (that round plastic like ball) that's always the culprit. Once it's broken or has the tiniest hole, over heating starts. Try change that and look at the one u are buying carefully to ensure its not broken and gummed |
