There is no way a man who borrows to feed and shelter himself won't beg. Only genuine investors don't. beg for debt cancellation.

cancel wetin!! all the debt obj help cancel has been relooted 100times over. so what are we saying here!! let the country become hard to the level whereby no money for salaries then everyone would be prepared to loose their lives. if our debt is forgiven we would have the false impression that all is well with d country. when this country is gradually becoming comatose.

When u were mismanaging d borrowed funds, u didn’t realize that it’d become a burden then? And BTW how can you be asking for debt cancellation when ur president and his minister of transport are salivating after more loans from China?

Nbotee:
Even if dey cancel d debts for other African Countries, dey wont b so stupid to cancel Nigerian Debts. U sign away ur countries to collect loans dat will b embezzled and recklessly spent by the govt and den U go back to ask dem to cancel such loans. U wont cut down on excessive cost of governance or looting but u want those who loaned u monies to cancel or give u some discount
off course any sound adult knows Nigerian debt will never be cancelled by the IMF or any country ..

These guys are in for a rude shock grin

Debt cancellation will merely create more room for more aimless borrowing and reckless spending, especially Nigeria!!!.

If I were the creditors, I would rightly ignore the charlatans!!!... Nations that borrow money mainly to steal and enrich their generations unborn.

The creditors should insist on better leadership across board... Better utilization of funds, transparency in expenditure, visible and explicable infrastructural development, and most importantly massive economic diversification all round with verifiable and visible outcomes...

Most African leaders are so clueless and bereft of ideas!!! If you leave them, they will borrow aimlessly and ridiculously till the rapture!!!
Re: Gbajabiamila, Other African Speakers Push for Debt Cancellation by highskies(m): 8:05am On Aug 18, 2020
They MUST NEVER CANCEL Africa's debt. What for? So you lot can loot the future loans again. We need fiscal responsibility, proper savings culture, and zero corruption.

Crazy people, self centred leaders....Ahhhhh

They are even talking about Coronavirus, whilst they continue to pay themselves unholy salaries and allowances, on top of the enormous perks that come with the job.

Meanwhile in sane climes like Canada, https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-us-canada-53815645

Nice one. But Africa has a greater unified problem, which is corruption. Stringent laws should be in place to combat that first, then other things should follow..

It seems African leaders are forming a pattern: borrow huge amounts recklessly and then later start begging for cancellation.

A very bad habit.

Quite sad. It would have been better if they use the borrowed money for economic and social upliftment as promised, sadly most of it ends up in thiefticians parading as politicians pockets..

Nice move. It shouldn't be too much for them to do if they could enslaved our forefathers and used them to develop their country
What a silly excuse. Same thing these "yahoo boys" say after defrauding hard working people abroad. Now tell me the difference between this government and the "yahoo boys" you all criticize as giving Nigeria bad name. While not playing the devil's advocate for these fraudsters, it is observed that the money gotten goes into circulation and fund the economy, but these politicians spend theirs investing abroad.

By the way, if you are a foreigner on this platform, and another person posted what you posted; will you advise your government on further borrowings to Nigeria?

It looks like they go beg for loans, with a view to beg for debt forgiveness........

They better not attempt to beg the Chinese..... grin

Good initiative

But when they were borrowing they didn't realize that it would backfire

Besides, China go cancel debt Impossible, by the way we are still borrowing.

Even if them go cancel, it would be 20% out of 100% so what is the essence?

Once they cancel it. You start borrowing again and the most painful things about this is that we haven't witnessed any development with all this borrowing. The money ends up in the pocket of few greedy people.
