This young man is MY HERO!

African despots should be forcefully removed from power & Mali's should be a warning to those tyrants who are fleecing their countries through mega corruption dealings, tribalism & nepotism in public institutions.

This should be NOTED in West Africa

Nope... We are not in a war!!! We are merely in the midst of one of the worst civilian regimes ever known across the universe.

We won't make such comments if the legislature lived up to half of her responsibilities. Mali would never have gone down that road if the executive had been checkmated by the legislature.

Well, to many Americans, Turmp is the worst thing that has happened to their country in recent times.

Their response was to call for a coup to overthrow him by the country's army (ok, I'm being sarcastic)

No, their response was to call for people to mobilize for the enxt election.

Buhari could have been voted out in 2019 if more people left Nairaland and did some hard work outside. Instead we were expecting miracles from heaven.

And we want to make the matter worse by calling for coup.?

I don't like this APC government, I did not like the PDP governments....but if anyone suggested a coup...based on our sad experince in the past...NO THANKS.

Both the military and the politicians are all corrupt and they don't know what they are doing

Sometimes I think our problem is that we want ready made democracy, not democracy by hard work.

Exactly, boss.
You got it.
We have to work our democracy constantly to diffuse the power away from the core politicians to the people, as is done NOW in Europe and America.

What are you saying...these guys did what they did because of the rubbish happening in their country...do you think if our soldiers had the guts these guys had, we would have still been in this our current predicament?

undecidedundecided man cut the crap joor. Truth is that we have a low mentality that is why we are where we are and I'm alright if it remains that way. I will leave soon one way or the other so you all can have your sweet fatherland to yourselves. It's a curse to be born African and another to be born Nigerian.

The place you are going to was once as bad as Nigeria.

And the method they used to change things was not a millitary coup.

It was the hard work of millions ofcitizens doing the hard job of democracy.

Anyway, good luck. I don't like our democratic system either...but army rule was far worse.

All these countries are small. it is easier to manage a small country where there isnt much money or people to satisfy. As for South Africa, they are a basket case, only surviving because the structure put in place by the white man are hard to demolish. Nonetheless, they are doing their damn best to dismantle it all. last time I checked they are now no 3 (GDP) whereas they were once no1 and ahead of everyone else.

Continue with your excuses instead of girding your loins for the work needed to achieve the better society you want.
You will wait forever.

Chief of Staff has Nothing to do with this.

This was a Pure Military coup.

The COS Mentioned there is not the COS to the President. He is COS of a Military formation

You can read and understand. Don't mind those ones.

We keep recycling the same set of politicians who loot us dry under different political parties, that's the problem.

Because many of you people give up so easily.

Plus, I have told people on this site so many times...vote for someone other than PDP and APC. Poeple who grumble about bad government...and they laugh at me, and call me names.

Democracy is hard work.

So what work are you doing to raise our level of education and enlightenment?

wetin concern me? I am a student of history. Africa is a basket case and always will be....at least for the foreseeable future. Many great African patriots greater than me have devoted and given their lives to the African cause....what is the end result? All those who laboured in the 60s,70s to make Nigeria great, educate a future Nigeria etc etc, what was the end result? The best of Nigeria's brains are abroad.

Africa will always remanin a basket case, You will do well to realise that and not build your future around a dream of a better Africa. certainly not Nigeria.

I dont say this with any joy, Ive just come to that realization after studying Africa particularly Nigeria. You cannot force a horse to drink water, when the horse wants to drink, nobody will tell it or show it where the water is. So to think you can be some messiah trying the educate the masses is an arrogant way of thinking. The people themselves dont want what you are selling.

Hopefully for the coupists, and quickly too.
It's not a thing of hope. Africa is doomed we really proved Socrates right when he said that democracy is rubbish.
Just look around you, the only continent where 90% of its countries are corrupt, suppress human rights, in disarray and chaos, poverty stricken etc. And the best thing about it is that we keep on blaming the "white man" who is thousands of miles across the sea or even has to come here to help us or steal from us.
Take Libya for example, Gaddafi committed numerous crimes against humanity, the mass executions that graced our TV all the time back then was terrible, then alas the Libyans had a chance to take their country back from a bastard dictator who had oppressed them so badly (though he improved the country a bit doesn't change the fact that he was a thief), even NATO helped them but guess what, the African and Arab mentality knocked their brains and boom the country is now a cesspit of everything bad. As for me what do I care, I'd leave this shithole soon and on my way out I would spit on the ground and vow never to come back.

You that has been an integral part show me what you have achieved? You keep voting the same set of clowns since time immemorial under different political parties and practice a system of government that has failed us for decades but u suddenly want a miracle. Funny u

Thomas Jefferson was not a coupist.
Stop being funny and find ways to educate and enlighten everyone around you about the political process and their roles in it.

If the so called democracy ain't working.. Don't you think another system of government should be adopted?

The bottom line should be orderliness and progressive state of well-being in the country instead of a few idiots reaping what's meant for the entire nation.

What you think?

Democracy does not work in Black Africa because our levels of education and ENLIGTENMENT are not high enough to overcome the psychological burdens of religion, poverty, cultural and the tribal prejudices that overwhelm our thought process/actions and the pysche of the masses.

Show me a truly functioning black democratic country...in Africa.

No democracy does not work because most of you don't want to do the hard work.

You want someone to come and do the work for you.

You want the Army to come and do the job that you don't want to do...forgetting the army is made up of the same unelightiend Africans that you are crying about....

Go and join a party. You could be the next Kemal Attaturk.

Most of the core infrastructure was actually done under the military with less resources. But see what we have today? Common blue line has taken Lagos about 12 years with the inflated budget. Same story of project abandonment in every region.
