Age and experience are overrated where performance is concerned..

The question here is simple:. What do Moses and Ighalo have to offer the team that the present corp of players at our disposal can not?

B open minded and read my opinion... Simple wink

Go and watch all the matches. Why do you think he won the Samsung player of the tournament?

Can you denial the fact he scored 12 goals and assisted 7 times in 32 matches for the super eagles?

Lmao he won because of someone's discretion and not because people voted voted for him

He is not the first neither will he be the last to score 12 goals in 32 matches and out of these 12 goals 7 were penalties just in case you don't know

We already have a penalty taker in Osimhen

Okay good.

Now look at what the records say.

Nigeria 1-1 Burkina Faso
MOTM: John Mikel Obi

Nigeria 1-1 Zambia
MOTM: Kennedy Mweene, GK (Zambia)

Nigeria 2-0 Ethiopia
MOTM: Vincent Enyeama

Nigeria 2-1 Cote D'Ivoire
MOTM: Sunday Mba

Nigeria 4-1 Mali
MOTM: Emmanuel Emenike

Nigeria 1-0 Burkina Faso
MOTM: John Mikel Obi

Victor Moses did play a major role for us but I hope this also explains to you that he didn't act alone.

forgiveness:

Perhaps, none. I can't remember.

1) I av not seen a team been rewarded with trophy or laurels for parading d youngest team in a tournament. D idea of capping d age of those who represent us in a tournament irrespective of d talent doesn't seem ideal to me.
D advantage is dere no doubt (we would av a team dt can last us up to a decade) but @ d moment we re yet to c result.we av been parading d youngest team since 2018 with nothing to show for it.I c no reason y nwakaeme can't be giving anoda chance again in team despite pulling nice stats for his club,he was shut out obviously because of his age. I saw d stat of rohrs untouchable player Samuel kalu.his stat is so poor dis season.more like a Gk stat, yet he keeps getting d invite and making d starting line up all because he's young cool

2) for d oldies in d aws ,let's go back to d memory lane and look @ d teams dt lifts d previous world cup.the least average age is beyond 26years.this shows dt experience counts if well blended with d young talent.I will support forgiveness on dis. "Youngest team since 2018 without anything to show for it" - How many competition have we played since 2018??

Were the said players not at the world cup in 2018??

Was Ighalo not at the AFCON in 2019??

Cos I don't know what you are driving at by that statement

Also there's enough competition in attack if Kalu struggles, there's moses simon, Ejuke Nwakaeme,Osimhen, Dennis,Dessers and Chukwueze who had better stats than the said players and some even won individual laurels for their performance last season. We don't need to beg retired players
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:41pm On Aug 20, 2020
No you are saying he singlehandedly won us the Afcon. That is different from saying he played a major role. Mikel also played a super major role. Enyeama and Emenike too. Moses was not the Chief Act. He was one of the Top acts in the team. Mikel won two MOTMs, Moses won none.

Yes he was given the Samsung fair play award and made the team of the Tournament.
Mikel too made the team of the tournament and almost everyone knows Mikel was the player of the tournament which the organisers gave to Pitroipa. A true robbery.

Bro...firstly,Our team is not that young again. Experience is not as important as tactics, cohesion et al in football nowadays if not Argentina or Spain should be at least a semifinalist during the last world cup. But if a coach must add experience to his team,it should benefit the team...Musa is a perfect example. Ighalo and vicmo won't add anything new to our current team.
As for Nwakaeme, I support your opinion.
As for kalu ,I want you to know that a player's form in the national team will still get him a call up irrespective of his club form. Onuachu and Simy didn't performed as expected for SE compared to their club performance . As long as kalu put up a decent performance for SE ,I don't think there should be issue with his call up sha IMO

Alhassan Yusuf being linked to Galatasaray.

Talks is reported to have started between Galatasaray and IFK Goteborg for 20 yrs old Alhassan. Time will tell.

My take:
Yes, it would be an upgrade in quality (Sweden ➡ Turkey) but I personally don't want him there. I would prefer Holland, or Belgium for the lad.

Anyway, if the move happens, he is young and I hope he doesn't get to spend beyond 2-3 seasons there.

I traced this news to the source, DiyagonalHaber on Twitter, a rumour monger. There's no truth to this, Turkish media are extremely unreliable.

You don't think Mikel deserved the Official Player of the tournament after such an imperious tournament? Wow. I need not ask who you had in mind for the award.

Forgiveness. My point has been made shaa. It's okay if you think Victor Moses was the sole reason we won. That is your opinion. But several opinions including expert Opinions suggest Mikel was the main man and was the worthy player of the tournament. So it's fine.

I'm only okay with it (if it turns out true) b'cos it is a step up from Sweden. Aside that, naah. If any of our talented young lads goes there, I hope and expect they leave quickly after or within two seasons. Highest three if they are 19/20 yr olds.
Paul Omo Mukairu is trying to force his way out but I understand the club is proving a stumbling block so far.

2 competitions of which both players were part of at least one. The so called "young players" have not played a major tournament since both of them retired.

And by the way sir I thought you said stats doesn't matter but laurels or trophies do. Simon Moses,Dessers, Dennis, Osimhen and Nwakaeme all won laurels either for their individual performance or trophies and even if we come to stats they all had more goals and goal contributions than VicMo and Ighalo
