If the government can just convert all the churches into factories so that Sunday would be a day of production, you will see Nigeria’s export multiplying and the earnings will replace oil.

Govt can control churches. Can should shut up

Have they been able to control the affairs of the nation talk more of spiritual things? No security, no light, no job, no accountability, too much borrowing etc. This government should focus their energy on solving the challenges we are faced with first. The church is not our problem. The church is the reason so many businesses are alive.

The anti Christ is finally here in Nigeria. They tried it during the corona virus pandemic when they shut the church down for an unnecessarily long time but kept the markets open. Now we can all see the plans. In spite of all the myriads of problems bedeviling the nation, it's who controls churches that is their concern. Imagine having an atheist as the supervising minister and and he suddenly decides there is corruption and he appoints his fellow agents of darkness as members of the board, then I dare say that it's the end of that Church knowing how high handed our government officials can be.
Everyday the guys keep taking the freedoms that people enjoyed before that sad day they came into power while stupid Nigerians cheer them on without considering the long term effect of these highly demonic policies. Nigeria is not and can never be China where the government controls everything. Now they are doing the very things they accused' the previous government of doing and even worse but yet you can't speak else they label it hate speech, you cannot protest else the security agents will gun you down yet they have deliberately refused to do the right things.
It will all end in tears for all these devil worshippers in power. Our God is a God of vengeance, he delivered us before, his sword is still in his hands to do it again.

This government thinks they can get away with anything. This is their second attempt. 2018 they tried and failed now this CAMA. They think church leadership are zombies? Big mistake. They always read between the lines and have experts if not the best working for them.
I pity this government if they keep this their attitude

Exactly! smiley

Jesus said "we must obey Caesar"

What Jesus asked Christians is to preach and teach, this doesn't involves huge cash so there is no law those in authority can make that could affect Christians apart from depriving them to preach! Act 5:28-29 smiley

Huge cash
What are you saying
Did Jesus ask the church to be controlled by government

It is not proper for government to control church if it happens it is finished.

Ungodly people wants to control church, it won't end well.

I am just thinking aloud. Is this new law not affecting Muslims too?

Why is MURIC not protesting? What if this law was introduced during Jonathan regime? How will MURIC react if Jonathan signed a law that gave government the authority to remove the Imams of any mosque?

Would CAN oppose this law if it was enacted during Jonathan's regime?

The fact is that religious inclinations has blocked the rational thinking of most Nigerians.

My honest take is that people should have the freedom to practice their religious beliefs without discrimination or government interference.

If you are a Muslim or Christian, do you call those who practice traditional religion derogatory names like pagans and idol worshippers?

Religion is really the "weed"" of the people!

Your church is a registered business under the government of Nigeria. So long as your church wants to operate its business in Nigeria, it has to abide by the laws of the land. This is not rocket science people!

There is. religious bodies of the kind in question are nothing more than registered business entities under your government there.

Will you shut up your dirty mouth. The bible you are turning upside down also tells you to respect constituted authority. Even Jesus paid tax to set example of what a christian must do, obey the law of the land. And as for the trash you typed, God is not a God of crazy and bigoted people like you.

Am not surprised with some response here, because regulating churches is tantamount to mosque, Ogbonis witch craft. But it will not happened because almost all the law markers are in one witch craft society or another. But we serve a GOD that knows the end from beginning. Let's see the foolishness of the devil and his followers.

The churches brought this upon themselves.

There are many muslim communities just like Zakzaky group in North. They mind their business and never get involved in govt issues. Zakyzaky stays in govt business all the time. Thats why he is in trouble now.

Jonathan set a bad precedence when he will have these pastors meddling govt business. They got too comfortable and started commenting on what govt is doing or not doing. When you are a tax exempt organization, stay away from govt the best you can. Put a long distance between you and govt. Govt has all the rules and ways to fvk up anyone, if they choose to. These churches did same thing Zakyzaky did, started fvkng with govt. So now govt wants to fcvk with them too. Its unfortunate but its reality.

There is a pastor in America called Pastor Dollar or something like that. He used to condemn govt and live large and flaunt. One of their legislators got on his case and wanted to probe him and his church. The Pastor got the message at that point.

If CAMA can bring out same result in Nigerian pastors it will be great. The money they waste on acquiring jets and building for-profit private institutions should be better used in promoting wellbeing and supporting needs of communities and people. At the end of it people benefit when churches come to their aid in time of distress and need.

Nigeria belongs to all of us, whether xtian or Moslem. I don't know what you mean by saying "pastors meddling in Government business"
I agree that there should be accountability but I don't trust this Government. This Government is used to abusing processes.
It's possible for CAMA to wake up one morning and remove the leadership of a church for a flimsy reason.

Did they touch creflo dollar? No
He told them he was not answerable to them, and nothing happened.

Anybody fighting against the church is fighting against God
It is very very very dangerous

You can't fight your maker
Jesus said I will build my church and the gates of hell cannot prevail.

Irrespective of whatever they do
It will not touch the church in anyway
Never

I remember a church that had land
And one past government in the south
Wanted to take over the land as a result of the power they wield

The pastor said lai lai
Two government officials used bulldozer
To pull down the fence

The pastor picked up a block from the fence that was pulled down
And made a declaration
That if God didn't call him
That those two men will not escape divine judgement
Not up to two weeks
Those two officials
Died within the space of a day

Na run the state government
Run from the land
No be person tell them

People don't fear God again
Anybody that tampers with God's thing
Is playing with fire and eternal damnation

God is only concerned with His followers and their obedience to His Commandments. Your churches and their existences as business entities of the world have nothing to do with God, but the world.

Sure, God runs the whole show. He is God over all things after all. But He does not rule you through your governments and your laws.
Your churches as well as the world governments belong in the hands of the men that run them and their worldly schemes with which they run them with.

Romans 13
King James Version
13 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

This was St Pauls instruction to the romans
Mind you Rome during Paul's days was a terrible hedonistic natiin
But they were instituted by God
