SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FRIDAY JULY 31, 2020 Bartholomew: A Disciple Of Jesus TEXT: Luke 6:12-14 "Simon, (whom He also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew" (Luke 6:14) Bartholomew was among the twelve disciples chosen by Jesus. It is believed that he was also named Nathaniel whom Philip introduced to Christ (John 1:45). He was from Cana in Galilee and also a fisherman. At first, he did not understand who Jesus was, but later confessed that He was the Son of God. He was a perfect Jew. Jesus described him as "...an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!" He was among the twelve sent by Christ to preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick. He preached the gospel in many places with miracles, signs and wonders following. He was also present at the last supper. He knew a lot of God's law and laboured for Christ till the end. It was said that his skin was removed, and he was beheaded for the sake of the gospel of Christ. Read and meditate daily on the word of God and be committed to serving Him faithfully. • Prayer: Heavenly Father, please give me the grace to render worthy, committed and acceptable service to You. • Further Reading: John 1:43-51 See more here:

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY AUGUST 01, 2020 Your Best Friend TEXT: Proverbs 18:23, 24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24) A friend is a person who you know, like and enjoy spending your time with. He is somebody who helps and supports you. You like that friend so much that he becomes like a member of your family. You will treat him so well that he too is always happy to see you or hear about you. Your best friend is that person who loves and trusts you most among all others. Jesus refers to His disciples and followers as His friends (John 15:14, 15). Let Jesus Christ be your best Friend. Then you will love Him more than any other person in the world. You will talk about Him always. You would do nothing without inviting Him. Neither would you sleep without asking Him to watch over you. Jesus does so many things for His friends more than what their parents and other friends can do for them. He protects from danger, preserves from all evil, promotes and prospers, and gives knowledge and understanding to succeed in all works of life. Above all these, Jesus gives pardon for all sins, gives salvation, and the right to be a member of the family of God (John 1:12). Jesus is a Friend for all. You can become His friend now. Turn to Him in repentance and He will forgive you all your sins, make you His friend, and bless you in all your ways. • Prayer: My Lord, You are my faithful Friend, teach me to love and trust You. • Further Reading: John 15:13-15 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SUNDAY AUGUST 02, 2020 Overcoming Fear Of Examinations TEXT: Psalm 105:17-21 "Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him" (Psalm 105:19) Merriam Webster Dictionary defines examination as "a test to show a person's progress, knowledge, or ability". In my early primary school days, I used to be afraid of examination or test. One day, a classmate invited me to the Deeper Life Church House Caring Fellowship. I was surprised when the teacher gave the topic of his lesson as "Overcoming Fear of Examinations." He said that F-E-A-R is False Experience Appearing Real. He asked us to confess our sins to God, repent, and ask for forgiveness. You must not be afraid of tests. You should rather prepare for them. Whoever is afraid of taking examinations is afraid of promotion and progress. We are not only examined, tested or tried in the classroom. Joseph, in our text, was tested, not only by man, but also by God. He was tested by his brothers, Potiphar's wife, and in the prison in Egypt. You are expected to be courageous and successful whenever a test comes. Failure brings regret and shame while success or victory in physical or spiritual examination brings promotion and peace. • Prayer: Help me Lord, to be victorious in all the tests I will pass through. • Further Reading: Acts 25:24-26 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE MONDAY AUGUST 03, 2020 Obedience First TEXT: Colossians 3:20-25 "Children, obey your parents in all things: For this is well pleasing unto the Lord" (Colossians 3:20) It is good and safe to obey your parents, in the Lord, always. When obedience becomes your habit, you will be successful in whatever you do. Not only that, you will also be able to avoid trouble and rebuke. A boy named Paul made it a habit to obey his father all the time. One day, Paul was playing under a big mango tree in the backyard of his father's house. His father was reading newspapers upstairs. After some time, Paul's father suddenly shouted, "Don't talk where you are Paul, lie down on your stomach and start to crawl back to the house and do not stand up." When Paul had crawled into the house, his father asked him to look up at the top of the mango tree, and behold, a big cobra snake was on one of the branches of the tree. If Paul had delayed to obey his father, the snake would have bitten him. Obedience helps you live long, brings the blessing and favour of God upon you, and makes God and your parents love you. Pray and decide that, God helping you, you will always obey your godly parents. It shall be well with you in Jesus' Name. • Prayer: O Lord, help me to obey You and my godly parents at all times. • Further Reading: 1 Samuel 3:2-4 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE TUESDAY AUGUST 04, 2020 Live In Peace TEXT: Hebrews 12:12-14 "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14) Jato became a problem to everybody. Everyone hated his company. Even the school authority was planning to dismiss him from school. He was regarded as a troublemaker. The atmosphere of rancour and trouble is hated by any peace-loving person. No meaningful progress can be made where peace and patience are absent. You wouldn't enjoy a home where mum and dad, brothers and sisters are always quarrelling with one another. Homes are broken because of lack of peace. There is always violence and bloodshed when two communities cannot live together in peace. Even Government projects are hindered and resources are wasted where there is no peace. Peace is necessary for the overall wellbeing of everyone. Spiritual and physical progress is enjoyed where peace exists. These may be some of the reasons why God commands us to live in peace with every person. Note that peace has a companion - holiness. Peace is the offspring of a pure heart. Prayerfully, from a pure heart, show peaceful conduct to those around you today.. • Prayer: O Lord, make me a peace lover in Jesus' Name. • Further Reading: Genesis 50:15-21 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE WEDNESDAY AUGUST 05, 2020 The House Of Prayer TEXT: Matthew 21:12-13 "And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves" (Matthew 21:13) Jesus clearly states the purpose of God's House. Some children go to Church to cause trouble and fight. Some go there to steal and sleep. Others go there to hear the word of God and pray. Which group do you belong to? The church of God is a 'House of Prayer'. Any place where two or three people gather every time, in the name of Jesus to pray, is a 'House of Prayer'. Jesus is present there with His power and blessings. Satan does not want you to pray. Do you notice that you can talk, play and chat till late in the night, but when it is time to pray, you suddenly begin to feel tired, drowsy and restless? Remember that Prayer is the Master Key to open any closed door in your life. The closed door to salvation, spiritual growth, success, healing and provision can only be opened by sincere and fervent prayers. It is right to say nothing worthwhile happens in the life of a child of God and the world as a whole without prayer. The question is how often do you pray? Do you enjoy praying? God answers all prayers except the prayers offered in sin and iniquity (Psalm 66:18). • Prayer: Lord, please teach me how to pray. • Further Reading: Luke 18:1-8 See more here:

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE THURSDAY AUGUST 6, 2020 Freedom From Fear TEXT: Mark 4:37-41 "And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?" (Mark 4:40) Fear kills faith. Fear is from Satan and makes us to disbelieve God. There were three boys who were good friends of Jesus. They went to church regularly and obeyed God's Word all the time. One day, they were kidnapped by ritual killers on their way back from the church. While they were in the church, they had been taught to memorize the book of Isaiah 41:10, 11, and they did. They were not afraid at all. While in the kidnappers' vehicle, the three of them began to recite the memory verse loud enough to be heard by the kidnappers. Suddenly, they heard the police siren coming towards them. The kidnappers immediately ran away and left the children behind. The police met them crying and they told the police what happened. Satan brings fear into your heart so that you may do his will which is evil. Jesus is the Author of life; He brings peace to His children. He will take away sin from your heart. When you are a friend of Jesus, the Lord will be with you all the time to protect you from all evil. Do not be afraid, have faith in God. • Prayer: I am not fearful, I know the Lord will rebuke every storm in my life. • Further Reading: Isaiah 43:1-4 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FRIDAY AUGUST 07, 2020 Clean Hands TEXT: Psalm 24:3-5 "He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully" (Psalm 24:4) Health officials tell us that it is good and healthy to always wash our hands. To show how important this is, a day in the year has been declared as "Hand Washing Day." This is to emphasize the effect of clean hands to a person's wellbeing. The Bible passage above mentions the importance of having clean hands in order to be able to see God. Clean hands, according to the word of God, refer to hands that are free from corruption and all forms of evil. These are hands that do not steal, write bad reports or draw sinful pictures, fight, kill or do evil. Heaven is a beautiful place that God has prepared for all His children. In order to get there, God demands clean hands and pure hearts from saved boys and girls. A child that possesses clean and pure hands will surely get to heaven. Are your hands clean? • Prayer: My God, help me to possess clean hands and a pure heart always. • Further Reading: Psalm 15:1-5 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 2020 First Things First TEXT: Matthew 6:24-33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33) Jesus tells us about a place that is very important in life. If you are asked to mention the places you will like to visit in this world, the places you will mention will include Paris, New York, Dubai, Canada, London, etc. You will be very happy to go there. What could attract you to these cities may be the - beauty, security, wealth and pleasure to be derived there. How will you feel if after you have made all the necessary preparations, you are denied entry to these places? You will be sad and disappointed. Heaven is the best place to be. If you miss it, you will cry. Therefore, the first thing for you to do is to seek to live in heaven with Jesus forever. Sinful children cannot live in heaven, they will go to hell because of their sins. Would you like to live in heaven forever? Then, you must repent of your sins and give your life to Jesus. He will help you to live a daily life of holiness so that you can make heaven at last. • Prayer: Lord, help me to enter Your Kingdom at last. • Further Reading: John 3:1-3 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SUNDAY AUGUST 9, 2020 Publish The Word TEXT: Mark 16:15-20 "And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15) Publish the word means preaching the word or telling others about the love of Jesus to save sinners. Our Lord Jesus Christ commanded His friends to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. The Saviour wants every child to be saved. All saved children are to tell others about the love of Jesus and show them the way of salvation. Some children in your school might not have heard about the love of Jesus. Make friends with them and preach to them. You can give them tracts, Tender Life magazines, Bible Study outlines and other Christian literature. Invite those around you to House Caring Fellowship meetings, crusades and other special programmes like retreats, Primary School Outreach meetings, and Children Bible Schools during vacations. Friends of Jesus must also pray for sinners to be saved. Only saved boys and girls can preach the word of God effectively. There are blessings here on earth and in heaven for those who will bring sinful boys and girls to the Saviour. • Prayer: Lord, help me to bring other children to You. • Further Reading: 2 Timothy 4:1-5 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE MONDAY AUGUST 10, 2020 The First Christians TEXT: Acts 11:26-30 "...And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch" (Acts 11:26) The disciples of Jesus were loving, gentle, humble, respectful and kind. These attributes could only be traced to Jesus when He was here on earth. The rulers and kings during Jesus' days were wicked, proud and forceful. The people remembered that these people were the disciples of Jesus Christ. Then, they rightly referred to them as Christians: People who followed Jesus' example. A child who is a true Christian will behave like Jesus. He will be as gentle as a lamb. What do people around you say about you as they observe your behaviour every day at school, at home and in the church? Does your life preach the gospel of Christ to others? Are you regarded by them as 'Christ-like'? You cannot be a Christian unless Jesus reigns in your heart as your Saviour and Lord. Then, He will give you the grace to be gentle, humble, loving and kind like Him. • Prayer: O Lord, help me to be like Jesus in all I say and do. • Further Reading: 1 Peter 4:13-16 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE TUESDAY AUGUST 11, 2020 According To Your Faith TEXT: Matthew 9:27-30 "Then touched He their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you" (Matthew 9:29) With God all things are possible. Without God you can do nothing. You should always speak words of faith anytime you have any problem. It may be during sickness, trials or failure. Speak to the problem in faith. The problem will disappear in Jesus' Name. A twelve-year-old boy was involved in a serious accident. His left kneecap was broken into pieces and his thigh bone was also broken. By the time he was brought to the hospital, he could no longer talk, and his eyes were closed. The doctor rejected him, saying that the case was impossible for him to treat. As the doctor said that, the boy suddenly opened his eyes and said, "My Lord will heal me." Then he closed his eyes and could not say anything again. When the doctor heard what the boy said, he was surprised. Then he said that, with this little boy's faith, he would treat him. After a few hours of treatment, the boy opened his eyes and started to talk. Within two months, the kneecap had been healed and the thigh bone too! He was completely healed and he was able to walk well in the third month. Speak words of faith, believe the LORD and it shall be well with you too in Jesus' Name. • Prayer: Heavenly Father, increase my faith in You in Jesus' Name. • Further Reading: Matthew 8:10-13 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE WEDNESDAY AUGUST 12, 2020 Endure Suffering TEXT: 2 Timothy 4:5-8 "But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry" (2 Timothy 4:5) Suffering here refers to troubles and inconveniences that a Christian has to go through for the sake of loving and serving Jesus. Justin loved Jesus. One day, he followed some Christians in his local church to a nearby village to preach the love of Jesus to the people there. It was late before they returned from the programme because of traffic congestion on the road that evening. While trekking to his house, he ran into some people who suddenly started to shout "Thief! Thief! Thief!" Before he could look back, blows landed on him from all directions. He would have been beaten to death, but for a quick intervention from one man, who recognised and saved him from further beating. Justin was not discouraged. He knew this was just a part of the afflictions he must endure for Jesus. Jesus has already told us that in this world, we shall have troubles. However, He also assured us that He has overcome for us. When you have any problem at home or in the school, remember to pray and claim the promises of Jesus. • Prayer: Dear Lord, in times of trouble, give me the courage to stand in faith. • Further Reading: 2 Timothy 2:9-12 See more here:

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2020 Something More Than Gold TEXT: 1 Peter 1:6-9 "That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth" (1 Peter 1:7a) Pure gold is obtained through a process called refining. It is the process of passing impure gold through very high temperatures or heat to melt it and enable waste referred to as dross to be removed from the gold. This waste lowers the value of gold. Pure gold is one of the most precious metals on earth. The highest prize in any race or game in the world is gold. Our faith will be tried like gold. We must go through the heat of trials, persecutions and temptations in the world to refine our faith. Every victory you win by overcoming temptation from Satan and tests from God prepares you for more victory and glory in the future. So, God will surely test your faith: He tested the faith of Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, Moses and Elizabeth. He does not do this because He hates you. Just like your teacher during examination in school, God does this for your progress, promotion, and to give you rest in heaven. • Prayer: Lord, stand by me and help me to overcome every trial of my faith. • Further Reading: James 5:8-11 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FRIDAY AUGUST 14, 2020 Study The Word TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:14-26 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15) There is a plea from leaders in the world and in the Church to people, young and old, to cultivate the habit of reading and studying. Most parents are unhappy because their children do not study well. They are afraid of bringing up ignorant children. God, in our text, commands us to develop the habit of studying His Word. The Word of God is the tool for our spiritual work. Just like a workman in the world cannot be effective without knowing how to use his tools, so also, a believer cannot serve God well if he lacks knowledge of the Word of God. To have the Bible without studying it is like having a tool you do not know how to use. You will be regarded as a poor or shameful "workman." The Word of God is very important and powerful. Avoid the laziness of putting the Word of God aside. Jesus overcame Satan by the Word. You will not be able to resist Satan's temptation and pass God's test without the knowledge of the Bible. Therefore, read it, study it, memorise it, meditate on it and preach it. • Prayer: O Lord, help me to study Your Word at all times. • Further Reading: Joshua 1:7, 8 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY AUGUST 15, 2020 Blessed Are The Peacemakers TEXT: Matthew 5:5-9 "Blessed are the peacemakers: For they shall be called the children of God" (Matthew 5:9) Peace here suggests the absence of quarrel and hostility. The choice to reconcile disagreeing parties is approved by God and man. Sin in the hearts of men is the primary cause of misunderstanding between people. But, sometimes, misunderstanding can arise out of no deliberate action from people. Our cultural differences, upbringing, background and even the colour of our skin can be sources of offences. It costs much spiritually, physically, and sometimes, financially, to make peace. Jesus paid the price of reconciling the world to God with His life. God is calling on all His children to pay the price of making sure that others live in peace. You should quickly take steps to reconcile with those who have a quarrel against you. There are rewards and blessings for you here on earth and in Heaven for being a peacemaker. • Prayer: O God, help me to be a peacemaker. • Further Reading: Exodus 32:30-32 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SUNDAY AUGUST 16, 2020 Love God With All Your Heart TEXT: Deuteronomy 6:2-5 "And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might" (Deuteronomy 6:5) Love, in a general sense, is to be pleased with someone or to regard him with affection, on account of some pleasant qualities found in him. The world says, 'Love is blind'. But there is so much we have seen and enjoyed in God that has caused us to love Him. As we sit down to ponder over the depth of His own love towards us, we are tempted to love Him more and more. Our key verse, in particular, instructs us to love God with all our hearts. What that means is that, no matter the price that you are expected to pay in demonstration of your love for and obedience to God, you should willingly pay it without any delay. There are uncountable blessings for children who love Him with all their hearts. Joseph loved God so much that he never committed sin. Moses chose to suffer reproach with God's people because of his love for God. Ruth rejected her idol worshipping people to love the God of Israel. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego also showed their love for God by staying apart from doing bad things. The only way you can show your love for God is to stay away from sinful habits that displeases Him. • Prayer: Give me the grace to love You more than anything and anyone in this world, O Lord. • Further Reading: Matthew 22:37-40 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE MONDAY AUGUST 17, 2020 Help One Another TEXT: Galatians 6:1-10 "And let us not be weary in well doing: For in due season we shall reap, if we faint not" (Galatians 6:9) It is good to do good. However, there are experiences that can discourage you from doing good. That is what the word of God is pointing us to this moment. Even if you have done good a thousand times and nobody ever turns around to say 'Thank you', or no one ever does good to you in return, the Bible says you should continue doing good and never be weary of it. Dan's father told a very discouraging story. He saw a man waiting at the bus stop with his little child whom he was taking to school that morning. Though he was in a hurry, but because of the little boy, he decided to give them a ride. Unknown to him, the man stole his phone. Dan's dad blamed himself for it, yet made up his mind that the bad behaviour of the man will not stop him from doing good. It is good to be kind to others. Look out for opportunities to do good to others today. • Prayer: Remind me always, O Lord, to help others in need. • Further Reading: Matthew 25:35-40 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE TUESDAY AUGUST 18, 2020 God Fulfils His Promise TEXT: Joshua 21:43-45 "And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which He sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein" (Joshua 21:43) God cannot lie; He cannot fail. Whatever God promises to do, He will surely do it. God promised Abraham that He would give his children the Promised Land. Abraham believed God. Many years after Abraham died, God fulfilled His promise by making the children of Israel to inherit the land of Canaan. You need to read your Bible and know the promises of God for you. God has promised to give salvation, sanctification (a clean heart), Holy Ghost Baptism, healing, protection, provision, good success, long life and many good things to friends of Jesus. God never fails. As He fulfilled His promise to Israel, so will all His promises come to pass in your life as you keep on believing and praying to Him every day. At last, you will also see Jesus in heaven. • Prayer: Almighty Father, give me the grace and faith to put my trust on Your promises. • Further Reading: Hebrews 6:18-20 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE WEDNESDAY AUGUST 19, 2020 Sons And Heirs TEXT: Galatians 4:1-7 "Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ" (Galatians 4:7) Usually, only male children become heirs. No one ever passes his possessions to a stranger. That was the only regret Abraham had when, as yet, he had no child and it appeared as if Eliezer of Damascus, his servant, would inherit his God-given property (Genesis 15:1-3). When a man dies, his properties become the properties of his children. It is even regarded as a curse if a man dies and leaves nothing for his children. A true child is called an heir. As it is in the world, so it is with us and our heavenly Father. God has so much to give to His children. However, a serious difference exists: The inheritance of the world is temporary and can perish while our heavenly inheritance is permanent and priceless. A born-again child, boy or girl, is a true child of God. Through Jesus Christ, God has prepared for His children temporary provision here on earth and eternal rewards in heaven. If you keep loving, obeying God and live a holy life, then you will inherit the kingdom of God and mansions in heaven. • Prayer: O Lord, help me to live as a true son or daughter in Christ all my life. • Further Reading: Luke 15:10-13 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE THURSDAY AUGUST 20, 2020 Learn To Be Diligent TEXT: Ruth 2:1-2 "...Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter" (Ruth 2:2b) To be diligent means to be hardworking. Hard work makes you strong and not weak. There are many benefits in being hardworking. You make more profits when you are hardworking. A lazy child cannot be successful. A child who is not hardworking cannot gain anything. Laziness brings suffering, failure, shame and hunger. A child who spends most of his time playing instead of studying cannot do well in school. No parent or teacher will like such a child. Hard work makes others respect and commend you. It brings you favours from God and man. Ruth was hardworking. She did not sleep at home but went out to work to feed herself and her mother-in-law. At last, God rewarded her labour of love. Also, Joseph was loved by Potiphar and by the prison guard in Egypt because he was hardworking. His diligence, at last, brought him promotion. Work hard and God will reward your labour with success. • Prayer: Dear Lord, give me grace to be diligent. • Further Reading: Genesis 39:2-4 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FRIDAY AUGUST 21, 2020 Faithfulness Brings Blessings TEXT: 2 Kings 2:1-14 "...As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel" (2 Kings 2:2c) The devotion of some animals can be very good examples of being faithful. A man had a dog that protected him everywhere he went. The dog served the man faithfully for many years. After the man's death, there was no one to take care of the dog. But the dog knew the grave of its master because it followed the man's coffin to where he was buried. Every day, from morning till evening, the dog kept guard at the burial ground of its dead master. Many people were surprised at its faithfulness and began to bring food and water to the dog at the burial ground. What have you learnt from the attitude of this dog? From Elisha you can learn that determination and dedication are the two pillars that support Faithfulness. He served Elijah faithfully, and with determination, received the double portion of Elijah's anointing. Great people are those who are determined to succeed no matter the troubles and pain they have to suffer. Your faithfulness to Jesus will cost you something: Your ambition, pleasure, leisure and even your friends. However, the Lord will reward your faithfulness. • Prayer: I have decided to serve You with my whole life. Help me, Lord. • Further Reading: Joshua 24:22-24 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY AUGUST 22, 2020 Hold My Hand TEXT: Isaiah 41:11-13 "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee" (Isaiah 41:13) It is very common, in every culture, to see parents or elderly ones holding the hands of their little children while walking along a path or crossing the road. Sometimes, you see children ignorantly resisting offers of help. Have you ever paused to find out the reasons for such behaviour? Children are fearful and think somebody will hurt them. Some of the people around them are wicked. Reckless drivers are all over on the roads. Many bad things are happening in the world today. Finally, most children don't even know their way, they easily get lost without a guide. In our text, God has promised to hold the right hand of His children. He is aware of the seen and unseen forces, the evils and the wicked practices around us. You hear of mass shooting, kidnapping, rape, natural disasters, robberies and hunger. These things make you afraid. But God is the best Helper, Deliverer and Guide. Today, allow the Lord to hold your hands as you turn away from every sin and commit your life to His care • Prayer: Dear Lord, protect me from all harm. • Further Reading: Psalm 23:1-6 See more here: |
