One more thing, aside the first sets of kuroilers sold into the the markets, I feel most are adulterated chicks. Lots of rubbish out there being sold at outrageous prices. |

jidestroud: Why don't you buy white cockerels, they're cheaper, high disease resistant, they're being sold for #4,000 per carton,#500 for sorting, total #4,500 |

Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 7:24pm On Aug 22, 2020 |
Taystee: White cockerels? Never!!! Not even the black ones will ever be suggested to my enemies not to talk of the whites. In as much as white cockerels only goes for N40 per chick. i.e N2000 per carton, to me, it's a waste of productive time (personal opinion). |

unity004:I'm impressed. Keep it up boss, although some slight adjustments could be done by using trays instead of the feeding troughs at day olds. Secondly, the water giving is a little to much for them. You end up wasting resources eg. Multivitamins, antibiotics etc, if you have to keep pouring the water away. Any heat source? Overall, I'll score you a B+ 2 Likes |

So I got a little upset today trying to get wood shavings for my chicken housing. I was told to book down Huh!? Book gini? Sawdust abi na woodshaings? That thing wet dem dey beg us come pack those years back? That I even agreed to be paying 200 naira sack itself is an abnormality not to get talk of booking down. Well, the good news is that I simply drove back home and switched over to sand jejely. Cost of production just keeps skyrocketing from price of DOC ( honestly, I have giving up on broilers this year. The prices are outrageous & pure exploitations from the hatcheries? 2 Likes |

jidestroud: Hello sir, I would like to commence a mini poultry project Just for consumption but I would also like chicken that would lay eggs . I would prefer 3weeks old chicks 20 to 30 chicks What are your recommendation as to preferably breed and preferably source. I want to eat chicken for Christmas so it a little urgent I think. 1 Like |
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 3:03pm On Aug 25, 2020 |
ankaravillageng:Since you are targeting both meat & eggs (mostly meat for consumption), your best bet are Noilers/Kuroilers. I will have to say this, getting 3 weeks of the mentioned breed won't make it before the festive season ahead unfortunately. Why not go for 5 week or 6 weeks (you still have to feed aggressively), or simply get your broilers and compliment with a few noilers/kuroilers? Source What's your location? 2 Likes |

ankaravillageng: Okay boss. So have you made up your mind on which you intend going for? Broilers? Noilers? Kuroilers? I can help you source noilers @ 5weeks (mine is almost all booked and can't supply that number you mentioned above. Next batch starts up by 1st week in September & surely can't meet up with December market). You can reach me on Telegram: RockkLee 1 Like |

Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 8:05pm On Aug 26, 2020 |
nams77: Layer is just a general name for female poultry bird which is reared for egg laying, you get? So bro, there are different breeds of chicken (hens) used as laying birds. 1 Like |
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by nams77: 8:53pm On Aug 26, 2020 |
jidestroud:OK. So which breed will u advice that can free-range without demanding for heavy attention and feeding.? Thank so much |
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 9:07pm On Aug 26, 2020 |
nams77: Despite the need for birds that can scavenge for themselves & are hardy, you still need to provide a degree of attention for them to hit their full potentials. To answer your question, Noilers/kuroilers will do just fine; heavy birds with their female hens having good laying capabilities. 1 Like |
