We know some parents, on account of ethnic and religious differences, prevent their children from associating with people who are different from them. With the exception of Yoruba Muslims, other Muslim parents, just like their counterpart in France, are willing to kill their children if they deviate from their religious upbringing. The unfortunate girl is even lucky they didn't kill her but only shaved her hair, maybe because they knew they were not in an Islamic country, where apostasy is criminalised. It is not about ethnicity as you erroneously implied. It is not about the classification of ethnic groups according to the dominant religion they practise. It is certainly about following a religious injunction that is viciously intolerant of other religions, and does not sanction conversion to other religions. . Brother, you shouldn't boast with the fact that your relations married Christians. As muslims, we are to live peacefully with them, trade with them, have a good relation with them, help them in trying times and many other things but marriage is out of the equation as it is glaringly spelt out in the Quran :
