That's the only offence he committed, the misdemeanor charge of being underage. The incident had nothing to do with "stand your ground" laws as he was clearly running away from his attackers. He didn't shoot to defend a property, he shot in self defense at people who were chasing after him and attacked him after he fell down.

Now in addition to proving he killed them not acting in self defense (Which will be difficult giving the video evidence), the prosecutor will now also have to prove that it was premeditated.
