anonimi: In ALL THOSE AREAS, Lagos has IMPROVED since 1960. Do you realise Nigeria did not have its first power plant till 1964 after independence? Kainji Dam. There was no electricity on Lagos mainland before independence. The British imported industrial generators to power Ikoyi and other 'G.R.A.'s across the country where their own people were staying. The rest of Nigeria used candle and lantern. No one could afford generators assuming they actually had wiring in their homes which was very rare. You disgruntled youths of today have NO IDEA how far we have come. Keep typing garbage online. 5 Likes |

Considering the cost of real estate in these places, many of Nigeria's "premium neighbourhoods" are ugly and lack aesthetics. Our so called "highbrow" areas are nothing but painted roads and apartment buildings, something that's an everyday sight in other countries. Nigerians REALLY celebrate mediocrity. 5 Likes |

Iamgrey5: Who talked about the best locations? How did middle income translate into best locations in the rich first world countries? The joke is on you. A city of less than 10 million (2006 census), that claims to be 20 million but no metro or light rail, and you are still talking? Is Addis Ababa in a rich first world country? Or Bangkok? Or Kuala Lumpur? Stop embarrassing yourself with your joke. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Crownstar01: You were the one that started the so called " been to a place" discussion. Just know that when you start something, be ready to go through with it. You guys just shifted the whole ikoyi issue to a Lagos as a whole issue.... What up with that.... Oh and if you have traveled far and wide, you should know better than to engage yourself in these "obviously tribalistic" topics. Leave the fools with their folly 1 Like |

Shattuck: What is that '''great standard of things outside Nigeria''? Is everywhere outside Nigeria like Germany? Is there no poverty in Brazil? Is there no poverty in China? Should I start posting images of slums in those two countries? We will spend all night here. You people have the worst inferiority complex I've seen in any African people. This is why you have bankers and graduates leaving Nigeria to go and work as slaves in Libya, and get thrown dog food to eat. This idea that everywhere else is ''better'' than Nigeria. Disgusting people. Meanwhile, the Chinese, Indians, and Lebanese are all rushing into Nigeria to make it big. They see the value in this country, unlike......you. Tufia. 4 Likes |

anonimi: If you really understood my post, you'd see I'm looking at it from another angle. Rather than concerning ourselves with building the tallest skyscraper or developing the most beautiful city in the continent in one area(which is really only useful for tourist purposes), while the remaining areas are all undeveloped areas, we should be focused on making other states and the majority of Nigeria more urban. Although Lagos is still lacking in many areas if compared to other countries, if all states in Nigeria had the level of urbanization Lagos has today; Security, Transportation Network, Commerce, Roads, Commercial Buildings, Paved Streets, Housing, Real Estate, Electricity, I.C.T, Communication, etc. wouldn't Nigeria be a lot better on average than it is right now? Instead of aiming for something more advanced, I think we should be more focused on the basics as that would raise the level of Nigeria as a whole! 1 Like |
