Yes I agree Ole needs to improve but isn't this your comment a little bit reactionary? Arteta is one to watch out for though..

Me personally, after Jose fork up for here..
Have lost belief in some of kind of whiz manager that would win the league, surely miracles like liecester will happens once in ten years.
But if you wan win league, it is all about the money.
We were dominant when we out spent everybody. That is what we've to do,to be on top again.
Money that must be well spent, not throwing £108m on just one player and leaving other important area lacking. It's no longer how much the Glaziers release, its how the money is spent and the players the club buys with it. I said it some days back that the person responsible for contract negotiation/extension need to leave that sit.

But who said we must spend 200m? With a proper system in place, 120 - 150m can get you very good players with potentials to become great...

Chelsea with Werner, Ziyech, Chilwell, Kai (likely) won't have cost them more than 250m but if we were signing those players, we have spent over 350m and have you come here to say we have spent enough...The problem is deep, we over pay for players especially players who aren't world beaters...
These glazers should just bring in a sports guy. Let Woodward be doing his money making.

Someone that will instill a philosophy for us. That's why we misspend. No football map.

See what marina is doing at Chelsea. If they can get a good negotiator and scout team. Things go go well. If them like make them take all the money na their papa e concern. Make I just dey see trophy.

We keep trying till it clicks, yes we've spent, if it's not enough to get us to were we want to be, we don't keep quiet, we keep spending till we get it right, unless the richest club we are called is only audio. After all Ed opened his big mouth to say "we can do things in the transfer market that other teams can only dream of". It's funny cos some of us are dreaming of Chelsea's transfer window so far.
At the end of the day, the facts is that Glazers have been spending, which contradicts the narrative some of us have been pushing. Whether it's the club's money or Glazers money, money is money, and we have been spending it. We can't blame the lack of success on the field on the lack of spending. Ole should make do with what he has, he spent 200m last year. He was busy pursuing English players for exorbitant fees, that's on him. We can't blame Ed for that. If I was in charge of the club, I would wait to see how we play between now and November before I make moves. Whether to let him go or support him. Because from our complaints here we don't even trust him to buy great players. Let the ones he currently have play some pleasing football and maintain it for 3 months first

Woodward does not negotiate. He is not in charge of transfers anymore, he only approves/releases funds.

Why not keep sacking till it clicks?

I don't want to enter the spending issue again. But these guys don spend. We've seen it. How many clubs pay their staff the way we pay ours? Is it not in renumeration we see how wicked an employer is?

It's their club. They can do what they want.

For me, the problem is they don't have a plan. No football director. How much is clubs like Ajax and Dortmund that are doing Yanga for us spending on transfers? We sha need plan on football matters.

Both sides of the argument has a point.

Finito.

It's not Ole's fault that Ed and Matt Judge can't negotiate properly for players, his job is to give them his list and theirs is to shop. With the progress we've made so far, it's important we take advantage now and add vital depth which is lacking to the team. If Ed signed Bruno last summer, our season would have been much better rather than barely finishing in the top 4. It doesn't make sense not backing a manager you appointed to oversee a rebuild in a strategic window as this especially as our rivals and those we intend to catch are strengthening. We might playing catch-up again this season if we don't strengthen cos the bar has definitely been raised even more now than last summer.

Honestly I'm not against sacking any coach that doesn't do well, my problem with the board is not backing the coaches they appointed in the transfer market but hanging them out to dry only to sack them and the cycle continues. It doesn't make sense nau. We desperately need a DOF.

It's no news that OGS was hell bent on English players, neither is it news how expensive and hyped English players are. Left to Ole, we will be parading the likes of expensive Longstaff, Grealish and co instead of cheaper Bruno, Van Beek etc.

Well I for one I'm very happy we didn't get that Longstaff although it was all a rumour...concerning Maguire and AWb, atleast they're proven in the league even Mourinho wanted Maguire so I don't think Ole did much wrong here. Dan James was a shrewd signing and I hope he dusts himself up and get back to his old self.

so if you were in a board of directors, you'd go to social media for appraisal of your business. that's very telling.

10 years before the Glazers (97-05) - £297.09m spent on 130 players = £2.29m / player

10 years after (05-13) - £362.79m spent on 181 players = £2m / player
Fergie retires. Starts missing out of UCL.

next 7 years (13-20) £997.72m on 122 players = £8.18m / player.. and 4 managers later, it's all swings and roundabouts.
I can adjust for inflation and you'd see how bad it was under Sir Alex but I won't get into complexities.

what we should ask now is
why was there laxity in squad reinforcements during the final years of Sir Alex?
what has now changed to require release of the purse strings?
if you say we are overpaying, it wasn't so projected under Gill. what's changed?
this is the fourth permanent manager after SAF, if things are not working out yet then what has been the constant?
we can only make inferences from what has happened before. if Ole is sacked, what's the probability that the next guy will be backed to get UCL football and then left to hang again?
