Zaidu's crossing is good. He created good chances for his teammates last season constantly with his crossing. Three of them were turned in and resulted in assists for him all from crossings (high and low).
He is also offensively sound. Was a thorn in the flesh of Benfica defenders few months ago during a league game. Even scored with a strong header from a good leap in that game.

Danielnino00:

That would make sense...
But how good is Zaidu offensively?
His crossing in particular?

If we decide to make our wingers do more defensive duties just to complement the full backs, then our attack from wings will be limited..
We saw that at the AFCON when Simon constantly had to track back to defend...

he's a real offensive weapon. like Supernerd said his pace and power would help our wingers whether Simon or Musa on that left side. crossing looks average but can get better from the videos i watched.

with him in the team i don't think Simon would have to worry about tracking back to defend all the time especially when facing lesser opposition. Zaidu from the looks of it will be the most offensive minded of all our full backs even more than Aina.

Those video comps didn't do him justice at all. He had made better crosses than those shown in the videos. I saw several of his games last season.

And yeah, I have seen the story. His rise is truly phenomenal. Four years in Portugal and he is now at the Biggest and best team in the land. And to crown it all, the lad is truly young. I have pics of Zaidu from 2017 which you can compare to now.

Attacking wise, he is most definitely an upgrade and he is super faster compared to Collins. Defensively, he will need to keep improving but the signs are good as I saw a couple of his last games where his defending really stepped up compared to the early parts of the season.

chrisooblog:
he's very fast instincts are always to attack. Goodjoe will love him since he is always harping on how the SE should play more on the front foot i think Zaidu offers that. he needs to work on the quality of his crosses from the videos i saw of him on YouTube. i think he would flourish well in a 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 setup as a LWB.

from an attacking stand point he looks an upgrade on Collins but don't know how good he's defensively. would need to watch him in action before coming to a comprehensive conclusion on him.

here's a nice interview by the way he had with Mowiz of owngoal nigeria. Wish Sanusi all the best

ok will have to take your word for it regarding his crossing. what I liked from watching him is his speed. in addition to kingsley we now have two speedy fullbacks men i'm just rubbing my hands in glee cos Rohr now has some serious offensive weapons at his disposal

I've seen his clips and I feel so too. Maybe playing him with Kalu and Moses Simon would be better because those two put a lot of defensive shift

I have watched him play several times. My assessment is not based on clips which may or may not do justice.

He is the real deal. He will be a 40 - 50 million euro player in 2 years (if his age is correct and Telles leaves) as long as he is fit. That is how highly, I rate him.

He has a terrific cross on him and is very fast.

He has also played as a winger for Santa Clara and a CB, so he is versatile.

Defensively, he sometimes has good games.

The young man has a very STRONG MENTALITY. I mean his determination for success is commendable. I also read his story and i was surprissed at how determined he was. Attitude sometimes matters more than talent and the guy has a very good attitude and is hardworking. Based on this, i believe he will succeed in Porto. One needs that level of determination to succeed in Europe if you are an African player.

Well said Baba T.

@bolded... Talking about that, I understand they even inserted a €50M euros release clause.

I would still prefer Aina at RB now over Ehizibue. Won't want to have two super powered human speed demons on the pitch on both full back spots at the same time. grin

Mind you, Aina is fast too but Ehizibue and Zaidu are Quicksilver and The Flash respectively. Would rather have one on the field sometimes instead of both.

One must balance out the other sometimes and this is necessary too depending on the opponents in play.

Zaidu is most likely Nigeria's best crosser of the ball in Europe.

He is known in Portugal for his Crossing/ability to pick out teammates with his crosses/passes, his speed and his power.

At the beginning of last season, he did struggle defensively but he gradually improved towards to the Season's end in the Post-Covid season wrap-up.

Fair enough...fair enough. Another massive weapon in our armoury. It'll only get better.

Yea... Maybe the idea of having two speedy FBs is so intoxicating. But Aina too should pick one position. .. I don't even know his best position.

Ghana has shown over the years that it doesn’t need “top” players to perform. By the way, when was the last the super eagles beat the black stars? Do you remember? Never underestimate the Black Stars. They rise to the occasion every time.

Nerd! Honestly, This guy looks 30s. We don't have problem in the Fullbacks and central back. But who are we to bank on now for AM position? we can't rely on Iwobi, Rohr has more work to do.

You are entitled to your opinion. But football is not played with mouth, it is played on the field. Nigerians have been doing all the talk and Ghanaians have been winning on the field of play. That explain why Ghana has reached the quarter finals at the world, and almost reached the semis, while Nigeria is yet to taste a quarter final berth.

This reminds me of one of our last matches at Afcon. Nigerians were brimming with confidence because the Ghanaian team did not have “top” stars. A corner kick and Asamoah Gyan headed in the ball. Goal. That was how it ended and Ghana qualified for the semis. I don’t know how old you are, but never underestimate Ghana. It is a country with a very strong football pedigree.

If he's a good crosser of the ball as said, then the YouTube video posted on this platform didn't do justice to that cos that was all we saw. No many are privy to see Santa Clara games so we really don't have these details.

Well we'll keep an eye on him and see what his game style is all about.

He is the best offensive full back, we have at the moment. Definitely an upgrade on Jamilu.

His defending sod metimes can be a weakness.

Is he better than Aina ❓

Highlights are indicative mostly and can be manipulated to make a played look much better than he is.

When you watch a player in a full game preferably several and much better in training sessions. Then you have a more comprehensive picture.
