nope not me.... You can't comprehend simple English..... I said in terms of technological advancement and self sustainability the SANDF was unmatched in Africa.... In terms of size/ amount hardware Egypt and Algeria are quite far ahead of the SANDF.

*Nigeria has huge deposits of minerals.
*Nigeria has enough arable land to feed the West African subregion.
*Nigeria has great animal breeding potential.
*Nigeria has two universities in Times Higher Education ranking of top10 universities in Africa.

The list is endless. So why is the country still like this?
So many reasons have been adduced for Nigeria's present situation but the one that resonates most with my own thinking is this: Nigeria and the north itself must be rescued from the northerners. I don't know how you see it, but to me, whoever controls the politics of a land controls pretty much everything else. We can not expect the country to progress at the level we desire while the largely illiterate north remains in control, because they will continue to hold the country back either through acts of commission or omission. Reason why I said even the north needs rescuing from itself. Just a personal opinion though.
But inspite of whatever it is that is responsible for Nigeria's present situation, there must be something we can do to push Nigeria forward and lift millions out of poverty, even if marginally.

Inspite of the north's refusal to fully embrace western education, literacy level is rising in Nigeria. But then a lot more has to be done. Our literacy level is still quite low. Education is one sure way of lifting people out of poverty.

The problem of Nigeria is not the North. How do you rescue Nigeria when other regions tgat claim to be more educated and sophisticated keep dancing to the tune of the North?

The Nigerian system is faulty; the foundation is shaky. Import the best brain into Nigeria and s/he will be reduced to a mediocre because s/he cannot operate in a void--too many systemic loopholes centered on corruption/negligence/ineptitude/incompetence/nonchalance to frustrate the noblest of minds.

FFK probably has billions of naira stashed away and moves with 24/7 police security personnel. His version of Nigeria won't be typical.

And as I said before quantity doesn't equal technological advancement. SA has by far the largest and most sophisticated defence industry in Africa, we are the 17th largest Arms exporter in the world.

The South African Arms industry are pioneers in the field of missile technology, HMDs, Howitzers, communication systems, MRAPs ect ect.

The G6 is the longest firing 155mm SPH in the world. The A-Darter is considered one of the best SRAAM currently on the Market , The Cobra HMD is one of the most sophisticated HMDs currently in service on any fighter,our MRAP technology is still ahead of any other country, and lastly we are one of the only countries outside of NATO, China and Russia that has developed and put in to service a military wide TDL...

The bolded is the major problem! That's where I was going. If you look at it properly, now the rest of Nigeria is inching gradually towards the lethargic attitude of the north in terms of development. Schools are poorer than ever and public officers everywhere- west, east ,etc- no longer cares about the people and just loot public funds at will while their people shout their praises.
That fervent competition we had towards progress- especially between igbos and yorubas- is dying.
We can't just wash our hands off Nigeria like you seem to have done,bro . There should be something that can be done to rescue the situation, even if marginally and gradually. Even if it has to be at regional levels. We are gradually having a northernization of this country and we don't seem to care much, especially those we call politicians down south here.
I think Nigeria's today and future depends on the southern youths, more so now than ever.

Nigeria has many problems but no matter how politically correct we try to be, the truth remains that one of the major problems we have is the NORTH.
They have for more than a century turned their back on western education and modernity. This is why poverty and ignorance are rife in the place, leading to such things as terrorism. Is terrorism not affecting agriculture in the north and the rest of Nigeria?
Unfortunately, since 1960 the north has held political power in Nigeria all thanks to their British friends. There is no president or head of state that has ever gotten to power in Nigeria without the blessing of the north. If it doesn't allign with their interest, the person can never get there, no matter how useful he can be. And any policy that can help the rest of Nigeria develop is always thwarted by the north. Look at Jakande's metroline for example. There are many examples. It's going to take serious steps by the regions, especially the West and the East to develop as long as the north continues to run things. E go hard gan.

No doubt, Fani Kayode is well educated. As educated as some of the most prominent politicians worldwide but he has allowed Nigeria's political climate to pollute him. He seems to have lost his mind. Bottom line, the Egyptian are ranked above you. They've got modern arms too unless you can prove yours is more modern. And they do manufacture MRAPs too.

South Africa are pioneers in howitzer technology due to the fact that our howitzers out range its nearest competitors by nearly 15kms.

Also never said Egypt doesn't have modern arms.... Neither did I say SA ranks above them I simply stated that the SANDF is the most technologically advanced and most self sustainable defence force in Africa by far.

Also I didn't say Egypt doesn't manufacture MRAPs.
