A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsuka (UNN) in Enugu State, South Eastern Nigeria, has put up his certificates for sale due to his inability to find a job in the country, Reports.

From The Information Gathered By , The graduate, Godwin Joseph Ochie, who is from Enugu, Enugu State put up his Bachelor of Science (Bsc) and National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) certificates for sale on Social Media (Facebook) on Saturday, August 30, 2020.

Ochie who said certificates don’t work in Nigeria, stated that he’ll burn them if no one buys them.

“Certificate for Sale or I burn Them. They don’t work in Nigeria”, he posted on Facebook.

learnt that Ochie had graduated from the department of Political Science, UNN with a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in 2010 and issued his certificate in 2011.

He completed the mandatory NYSC service in 2012, which he started in the year 2011, Reports.

, further learnt that Ochie was one of the beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme that was dissolved in August, 2020.

In one of his post, the depressed graduate complained that: “The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs under the affairs of HM Sadia Farouq has barred volunteers (from the N-Power scheme) from commenting or replying on their timeline. Volunteers can no longer comment or reply to the Ministries tweets. And so. And then.”

N-Power is a Federal Government social intervention programme aimed at helping youths without skill, job, or economic means to survive. Monthly stipend ranges from N10,000 to N30,000.

To me, a guy studying Public Administration in a university is just doing it so he is called "a graduate". A guy should study a course that sells even in the midst of serious unemployment problems. Leave Pub Admin for ladies, they know their ways.

I think it's high time we understand Nigeria's educational system. We were trained as job seekers n not as job creators and until we understand that many courses are becoming obsolete in the 21st century,we won't go anywhere. Nigeria graduates are something else, once they can't get a well paying job with their cert., they already termed it a waste.

Tertiary education is not for getting job alone! The only reason to term your education a waste, is if you do an introspection about yourself, and you found out you've not improved at all intellectually, and just the same as you were before gaining admission.

Then roast your certificate, or even flush it.

10years ago, while my parents where giving me and my bros money for school fees, they paid for shool fees and other fees, while i saved mine 4 years later they graduated and i told my family i have 2 extra years, they paid more fees and i saved it , i was also doing business by the side. 3 years ago, i summed up all the cash and travelled to europe. today, one of my bro earns 120 to 150k, the other one is jobless. they all depend on me for support. now i am a millionaire and i am going back to school like a don.

This is one of the biggest challenges with the Nigerian society and education. We groom kids with just book and not try to ensure all round development. He should be invited by the university and the certificate retrieved from him.

After my masters ,I decided to go for a PhD.. But I reasoned I ain't earning money with my certificate(i earn money through skills only) This is the IT & Digital era...People are making money with skills so a certificate whether PhD, Master's or Bsc is almost useless in this society we are.

Useless twàt. Most people don't even know why they have a certificate.

A certificate is not a passport to life in eldorado.

A certificate is simply a proof that you have attained a certain height. If the so-called ”height” is useless, then your knowledge is practically useless.

I mean, how can a human being living in Nigeria go to a university in NIGERIA to study political science? Political science in Nigeria of all places.

What exactly do you want to achieve with such useless and substandard knowledge?
