TheSuperNerd: Latvia league is not lower or poorer than Israel and Austria second divisions because that was were Adeleye and Tobias played so far. "means (ing) getting a better or higher level of competition week in, week out compared to playing for a side in....." second divisions of Isreal and Austria Slovakia league is ranked 30 while Latvia league is ranked 39. They are almost in the same level. Alampasu team is currently one of the best team in Latvia league and are currently playing in Europa League. Now, that is another advantage over Yakubu. I will rather choose Alampasu club over Yakubu's club. In EPL, you get to play at least 6 good teams but the rest are nothing to write home about. In Beskitar, you get to play with better players, coached by a better coach and play with better facilities. Chances of playing in UEFA champions league or Europe with the best in the world are very high. You can from there get into a bigger club if you do well. Except you want me to believe UEFA competition is not better quality than EPL. 1 Like |

Latvia league is still low quality compared to the second divisions of Austria and Israel. It is not better. We talking of 2nd tier leagues that have their top tiers rated #10 and #22 in Europe. Latvia is way way down in #38. The backwaters of European league football. That is the honest truth. And how is a #30 rated league (Slovakia Fortuna Liga) ALMOST IN SAME LEVEL with #38?? You think that 8 places gap is a joke abi? Forgiveness you have come again. Listen, there is no case for Alampasu here. Allow the lad to keep playing b'cos he only just returned from a long inactive state and the league sef is poor quality. We just give it mentions here because we have Nigerians there same way we give Albania mentions b'cos of Egbo. Now Albania and Latvia are "almost same level" with Albania ranked slightly higher in #37 while Latvia is a step lower. I hope you also know another lad like Osigwe could also be considered (if Rohr thinks it) ahead of Alampasu if he starts playing for his new side? He is now with Lugano in the Swiss Super League. Switzerland is #17 in Europe so go figure. Listen, I rate Alampasu but right now, he doesn't deserve an invite ahead of the likes of Yakubu who are in better leagues or those who have been very active in decent leagues. The likes of Yakubu and Tobias are good to come in now and compete for places alongside the likes of Uzoho and Okoye who are both ahead. Alampasu's time will come but he needs to keep working. And talking being with Besiktas in Turkey compared to being in the EPL with Southampton week in, week out. Bro, those at Southampton face much better quality and better players every week in the EPL compared to the regularity at which you face high quality playing in Turkey. That is fact. Being in Europe changes nothing. Even LASK of Austria was in Europe last season. Does it mean their players are better than those in Leicester who were not in Europe?? Funny. forgiveness: 2 Likes 1 Share |

TheSuperNerd: Your assertion that Alampasu plays in lower level is false. It solely based on your own personal opinion because the last time I checked Isreal and Austria second divisions are not ranked by UEFA above Lativa league. What are the Uefa rankings of the teams in Israel and Austria second divisions compared to the rankings of teams in Latvia first division league? No doubt about it, Latvia first division is in backwaters of European League football. So are Austria and Isreal second divisions and Slovakia league. Except you want us to believe Championship is better than Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Austria league, Eredivisie, Belgium league, Russian league etc as we use to hear here. 4 Likes |

And it is rather your assertion that Alampasu plays at the Highest level compared to lads like Yakubu and even Tobias that is right abi?? I have taken out time to watch Alampasu in Latvia. I have seen the quality of the league. I don't just go by their low Uefa ratings. I have seen it for myself and the truth is what I say. The Latvian league is not better than the Austrian Bundesliga 2. It is also of a lower level compared to the Slovakian league so no way Slovakia and Latvia are "almost on same level". Like I said, I rate Alampasu and want him to do well and work his way back into NT reckoning but right now, a Super Eagles invite is not on the table and rightfully so. Allow the lad to keep doing what he is currently doing for Ventspils. He is working his way back after a long time out in the cold of inactivity. And bringing in Championship better than Ligue 1 is really funny. How is the Championship (2nd tier of Europe's #2 league) better than the Top-flight of Europe's #5 league?? Do you see the quality of Neymar, Ben Yedder, Mbappe, Fonte, Depay, Camavinga in the Championship?? Saying the 2nd tier of a #10 league and #22 league is not below the quality or is even better than the quality of a league rated #38 is definitely not the same as saying Championship over Ligue 1. England is #2. France is #5. And we both have seen the strength of both leagues. But in the case of Latvia... Come on... #38 that is 28 places and 16 places below Austria and Israel respectively. Ofcos I can compare their 2nd tiers to Latvia coz I have seen games from there too and I can tell you that the quality of Latvia is not better. Even Rohr knows this. forgiveness: 1 Like 1 Share |

timay: They are desperate for a very good reason, It will have a negative impact on La liga and Barcelona if Messi leaves. personally I wouldn't have any reason to watch a la liga match between Barcelona and Atletico or Real Betis when there's no Lionel Messi on the pitch. See what la liga boss said. ‘The departure of Cristiano [Ronaldo], although they were upset in Madrid, had an almost zero impact because in La Liga we have been preparing for years so that the brand transcends the players. ‘But the case of Messi is different. Messi is the best player in the history of football. We have been fortunate to have always had him in our league. I believe that Messi's departure would be noticeable. Of course, more if he left to play another League.’ 1 Like |

Edopesin: @The bolded, they are obviously lying. In fact it's one of the reasons they obviously took interest in the Messi case. One example about how Ronaldo affected La liga is the issue of El classico. The numbers of El classico viewers dropped drastically after Ronaldo left. Now imagine more damage it will cause if Messi was to follow suit and leave. Seria A benefited immensely from Ronaldo. DsTV for instance doesn't broadcast seria A . But immediately Ronaldo got there , They immediately aquired seria A rights . |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 2:38pm On Sep 04, 2020 |
Stop calling Championship and Ligue 1. They don't make sense in making a case for you at all. England that has the Championship is #2 in Europe. France is #5. Russia is #7. What is the gap here? Just 3 or 5 places? See why Championship over Ligue 1 won't fly? So many reasons why it just won't. We watch the leagues and we know. The ratings show the gap is not much at all between England and France. But I speak of Latvia (#38) and the 2nd tiers of Israel (#22) and Austria (#10). Israel is 16 places above Latvia. Austria is 28 places above Latvia. Slovakia is 8 places above Latvia. Now Yakubu is in the Top flight in Slovakia and doing very well. Bagging more Clean sheets consecutively for a modest first tier side. He is in a better and higher league than Alampasu and is first choice too at his side. This Yakubu alone defeats your statement stating "Alampasu is playing at the Highest level compared to the players mentioned.". See where you lied? But let me finish it... Tobias is in Austria which is 28 places above Latvia and did it for LASK Juniors in the Austria Bundesliga 2 and is also a part of the LASK first team now going into the new season. Likely to keep switching between duties for LASK and LASK Juniors OÖ. The Bundesliga 2 is in Austria which is 28 places above Latvia. And I have watched games from both leagues. Please... Latvia is not better. That is me being factual. And lastly, Adeleye (who is even the least considered of the new three) is in the 2nd tier of Israel and Israel is rated 16 places above Latvia. Adeleye is first choice for his side and played 33 games last season in the Liga Leumit. I have also seen a few games from Israel and seen some from Latvia. Honestly compared to the ones seen in Latvia, I can tell you again...the Virsliga is still not better. It is really low quality. It is even rated below leagues in North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein. Ever heard of North Macedonian league? Do you think it is better than the Israeli 2nd tier? Lol... Latvia is better than leagues in Malta and Kosovo but not better or rated above even North Macedonia. So you can see Rohr is not being partial here. He is right to focus on lads who had been active in their roles in decent 2nd tier leagues that are in countries rated far and above Latvia and then on another lad who is fast rising in a top flight league. So my dear Forgiveness. Alampasu is not playing at any "highest level" than anyone being considered and I repeat Adeleye sef may not make it for now. His time too will come if he keeps it up. forgiveness: 1 Like 1 Share |
