Kindly advice me on this, the wedding date my spouse family, my parent and my fiancee chosed is quite not convenient for me due to work schedule, (I work far north), the date means I will be resuming to work 1 week after wedding.

I want the date changed to the following month so I can have like 3 weeks bet everyone seems not to understand me.. I am looking like the bad person to everyone.... kindly advise.

Stick to your decision. You're the man here. You're the one going to marry her. So start exercising your authority as the head of your family now.

If anything happens to your job, you'll lose your respect before that same family and wife of yours in no time. Except if it will not affect your job. But all the same, maintain your stance or tell them to wait till next yeartongue

Since you guys agreed on the date, no going back. That is why marriage is not moimoi and pap. You need to think think well before concluding

You shouldn't even be asking this question. You're the one who wants to get married. You are the one who should have looked at your program, arrange a convenient time together with your fiancee and then communicate the proposed date to your family and hers too.

Abi na dem find wife for you?

Explain to them that your preferred date will give you more time to spend with your wife as newlyweds.
Ideally, the wedding date should be chosen by both you and your bride-to-be.

For the sake of peace, get it sorted out in your place of work so that you can have time to relax after your wedding

At times you just dance to certain things and after that you take absolute control of the rest

Sit your wife to be down and tell her what you just realized as you would like to spend a lot of time with her after the ceremony or visit your mother in law to be and tell her same.

Tell them the new date you have in mind so they can check if it's fine with them too.

The sooner, the better.
Happy married life in advance.

Don't change, just go ahead and do it with minimal responsibility or you bring it forward or hold virtual weeding

i think this can be settled amicably. Since your reasons are genuine and u need more time to spend with ur spouse after the wedding then the only task you have now is convincing your family. By the way its an opportunity to plan better ahead of the special day.

First talk to your wife about it and once you both reach a conclusion on the better date, family will bow to you both. It is your function and not theirs and you guys need to start telling everyone you are capable to make your decisions in unity.

How do you propose to be the head of your new family when you are not even man enough to stand your ground and choose a wedding date convenient for you.

He who pays the piper......
