Abeg blackbishop your expertise is needed here. After working on my shaft and bearing today, I notice that my car dey dance on the road ọ. The tires dey drag for road too. The steering is not going straight again. I managed to drive it home this evening. I have called the mechanic that worked on it. But I'm even afraid to go back to him.
Please what could be the problem?

I have never done wheel balance or alignment any time I change bearing. Is there any need for that when I didn't do tie rod work?

I have 2 drivers. One has never driven on rental b4 signing the hp contract. I.e he started uber with the hp car almost 2 years ago if taken the lockdown months out of it. Now, he has like 500k to balance up. Hopefully, soon.
2nd driver has driven almost 3 years on rental b4 signing the hp contract when the hope of buying his car was taking forever. He has N1m to take the ownership of the car. He has never had issue with the partner till date. Meaning never defaulted. I know of that one very well.
I believe if one is very sincere with his weekly remittance, he will surely get his ownership within the stipulated time except the car is problematic one.

Two great examples... God bless you for this.

A great example to learn from.

Modify:
I know of a bros who has been on rental for almost 3yrs&1/2 till now he's still on rental with no savings at all.

Just like you said, provided the car is not problematic and the driver is faithful (like sb like felicity0001shocked) and also the partner is also a good person ooh (like sb like felicity0001 cool) then HP shouldn't be a problem and a better option to rental.

Thats to me oooh... Can't speak for anybody shall.

I was surprised someone said HP is better..

Anyway, to each, his own.
Though i have friends that are sweating over their hp deals too. Some enjoy rentals while some enjoys hp. Life no balance at all.

its not easy to safe money to buy a car thru rental oo. I have lots of friend that have been on rental for years trying and hoping to buy their cars thru savings from rental. Bro, its not easy.
Even getting a loan to buy the car self no easy except you or spouse if married are running a salary account or have a shop. The amount of money you or your spouse earns also determines how much you will be loaned.

While I understand him, I feel the advice was trying to put a cart, before the horse.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think there's anyone that wanted to be a taxi driver as a kid. Most of us entered this hustle maybe because of one circumstance or the other

One question I ask people who want to venture into HP is: Do you think you can commit yourself, week in week out, driving back to back for the next two years just to own an 18 year old car?

One must be very sure he needs this, and not saying it is better than rentals

If someone starts a HP plan, and doesn't complete it, he has also distorted the plan of the partner. That car would be difficult to put on HP again

My point is, it depends on the life plan of the driver. If you feel you can drive for two years faithfully, please go on

If you are still skeptical about your life, and you don't have Uber driving as a dream, please opt for rental..

Any is better, depending on the person

If someone starts a HP plan, and doesn't complete it, he has also distorted the plan of the partner. That car would be difficult to put on HP again

I've a philosophy that belives, "the human being is a sojourner on earth that goes according to the directions the winds blows him.

If you can remember there was a guy that seek advise here on this thread some times back on how he signed up for HP after graduation and just about 9months without any default he got a job which his 3months salary put together can buy him the said HP car? Now, the point is, most opportunities come to only the prepared minds and some opportunity comes, but, once in a life time. So it why one should always try as must as possible to always get prepared and then make every time count.

Its no once plan to fail but when it happens you take it in good faith. And if it enters good.

I have a driver that was with me from 2017 to 2019, he introduce his friend to me, his friend pleaded for hp, after working with me for couple of months, i agreed, today his friend is a car owner.

He started misbehaving in 2019, feeling down, if he had known, i retrieve my car immediately.

If I was dru23, my car won't have lasted 1 month in your hand. Your partner was fully incharge of maintenance of your car and at some point, you were remitting 10k per week, yet, you drove the car out of state and back and you were always here ranting about how your partner's car consumes fuel etc and now, you are champion for HP ? I don't know anyone that has completed a HP agreement. The 3 persons I knew, they either returned the cars themselves or it was retrieved.

Kindly answer these simple questions Sir and if you can't provide simple and honest answers please hide your face in the sand like an ostrage, why because you don't shouldn't poke noise in people business like you know all.

1) Are you the ine that rented a car to me?
If Yes
2) Did I bridge any of the contract agreement we entered and signed?
3) Did I at any time default in my rental remittance pre and post covid-19 at each of the agreed amount?
4) Did you in any where mentioned to me either by the signed contract agreement or by mutual or verbal agreement that I as the rentee should not at any time under any circumstance take my rented car(your car) on a trip out of state and I disobeyed?
5) The N10k you claim was too little for weekly rental, did I forced it on you? Did you or not agreed to it? Did you accepted it or not? Did I for once failed to pay for the few weeks? Or did I object to any review of contract i.e at all if you even made an attempt to try. Off course you knew for sure no one would accept a review when he's spending more than 50% of his earnings on fuel due to a faulty component which I was patiently waiting its arrival for almost 3/4months only for you to call for your car.
6) For the 7 months your car was in my custody did I ever call you for day to tell you car was vandalized, damaged or stolen?

Lastly, be honest oh oga since you are dru23, did I for one day offended you starting from day 1 of our contract till we went our separate ways?

So Sir, with all due respect if you can't give answers to any of these question I would advised that you keep quiet and stop quoting me.

One thing people who live outside the fence should know is, you really dont know what is going on inside the compound. People can come out publicly and act like they're good/bad but inside they're the opposite.

I can walk tall any where, any day, anytime, my records are straight and intact in my dealings with people. I'm not saying I'm perfect but at least I know say I dey try.

It takes a discipline person with integrity to work with a man of principle and thats exactly who dru23 his and I can boldly say I learnt a lot from him the few period I worked with him and what ever conspired during or afterwards I understand clearly and now that to build a successful business especially in Nigeria you need to make some touch decisions, though you might miss it some times and get it right most of the times, yet you have to be strong in decisions making.

So what ever it is I hold nothing against him. It was a privilege workimg work him, many have sort for it but couldn't find it but to me it came to me and I never misused the opportunity. So I'm grateful to God Almighty.

I'm yet to see a man that worked for just a particular firm in his entire life.

It is what it is, Busines.

Firstly, nowhere did I talk anyone out of HP, neither did I say the 2 million is a chicken change. I only wanted the intending driver to be sure.

And as for the 18-year old criteria, that's entirely my own opinion...and yes, I CANNOT TAKE A CAR THAT OLD, DRIVE IT CONSECUTIVELY FOR TWO YEARS, AND THEN IT BECOMES MY OWN...I CAN'T

It has nothing to do with quick money. I also consider what's left of the car and it's expectancy in the long run.

We have seen two drivers here complain of how their HP cars have started giving them issues, and they have not owned it yet. It's a no brainer that the car is old already. Then you flog it back to back for two years....What will be left for you in the next two years for you to enjoy. If Uber decides to raise the bar to 2008 cars anytime, what's your fate?

Please, in my own opinion, and not trying to dissuade anyone, it's not a wise business decision for me. I used Uber to survive, changed the hustle, and I'm doing better now.

I hope to be like you one day sir, but it's definitely not by driving on HP cheesy

Brethren,

All the roads around four points are one way drives.

Also, you can't connect to Oniru road from the lekki epe expressway ( no left turn) heading towards Falomo Bridge.

You have to make a U turn further ahead and double back as if heading to the toll gate and then make a right turn to Oniru road.

Stay awake!

After the car is eventually yours,Do you know you can still drive it for like 6 months to raise more funds and decide to sell. Add the money together and get yourself another toks?
And if your are not willing to continue with the business anylonger, then you have fund to invest in another biz.
Just as jpworld earlier said; hp deal is good if you have a working class spouse to survive it.
The two drivers i earlier mentioned's wife has a good job and owned a food store respectively.
