I don't know if i'm the only one who has this.

But i always feel sick whenever i get into most cars. I always feel like throwing up and it has been a problem i've had right from childhood. I don't know what exactly causes it but it makes it difficult for me to travel by car because i get sick throughout the journey.

Has anybody experienced this?

Happens to me as well. It is called motion sickness. This occurs when the perceived sense of motion is not in tandem with your vestibular function which triggers nausea and vomiting

Useful tips to combat this include

1. Putting off the air con and opening all windows to let in fresh air

2. Never eat before travelling. It makes it worse.

3. Never read a book or use your phone when the journey begins. This aggravates it.

4. Closing your eyes for a few minutes into the journey allows your body to adjust accordingly

5. Always have with you bitter kola.. The white type. Works like a charm when eaten slowly.

6. You can opt to drive rather than being driven. Motion sickness never happens when you are the driver.

It's motion sickness. Avoid reading or looking out of windows when travelling. Avoid peppery foods if you must eat, take snacks, bread, biscuit instead. Some people take a drop of petrol before travelling, just dip your finger in petrol and lick it.

It’s called motion sickness. I get air sickness a lot whenever I travel by air. The best way for it to go away by confronting your fears.

It's actually worse when i don't eat. It's still manageable when i eat something before boarding.
my little advice, eat before travelling, if u don't eat it will get worst. When u feel like throwing up, just close ur eyes and sleep. It has happened to me, I hv vomited inside luxurious bus.

It's mostly as a result of irritation from the smell of petrol. I have seen people who have similar complains. It's better you eat bitter kolanut during your journey. I hear it helps
Re: Does Anyone Have Car Sickness/allergy? by lanreabbey(m): 3:05pm On Sep 13, 2020
it happens mostly when I haven't eaten, but when I start eating snacks and water,it's goes away on its own.. I notice mine is mostly on the morning if I haven't eaten
Re: Does Anyone Have Car Sickness/allergy? by lady25(f): 3:05pm On Sep 13, 2020
I have it all the time . Once I am in a vehicle whether land sea or air I get sick. No matter the distance. I have had it for as long as I can remember. It even got worse when I was pregnant grin. But there a few things I do to ease the situation. I always seat by the window put my head outside a little bit and take in fresh air. Whenever I am traveling I buy as much minty sweets as I can (tomtom mentos e.t.c). And the most effective is sleep. Once the vehicle moves I force myself to sleep. I have spoken to a pharmacist about it it once and she prescribed a drug for me. I googled it and I found out it is sleeping pills. It will help you stay calm during the journey Hope it helps
And I don’t think it is caused by the smell of petrol. I have traveled by air land and water and it is the same motion sickness. Although some people become nauseated by the smell of petrol (that is not motion sickness)
