Why is the north always the kings and also the kingmakers?
This life no balance at all.

Because the north was structured to be so, politics is a game of numbers and the north seems to have the vast majority of numbers to dictate who becomes the king

So las las, we were lied to as kids that "the youths are the leaders of tomorrow"! Y do we keep recycling leaders? Third World Mentality!

In another news, there's gon be a major crack in major political parties that would cause new political parties to rise up come 2023.

And y do I see Rotimi Amaechi going back to PDP because of the way he "now" claims to be Igbo, and the fact that Gov. Wike made it clear he'd support him for president come 2023 if he contests under the wings of PDP.

NIGERIAN POLITICS NA MAJOR SCAM!
The youths are not ready. They are busy watching BBNaija and feel they have no business with politics.

The closest person to a youth that has been fighting is Sowore and he has been doing it alone.

Obasanjo, President 8 years, SW

Osibanjo, VP 8 years, SW

And yet They want to be president again.

Yorubas are not in the position to talk about zoning. If Zoning is their mantra, they should support SE or SS candidature. Anything aside this, let the North keep their thing. [/quote/]

Leave VP, but u r right the SE is next to produce president bcox the SW have produce and SS have produce the next in line is SE.( but the problem is they hate APC with passion and don’t want to hear anything APC, they even call it evil party. But the good news is their angel party pdp will zone it’s president to SE) so the next in line is the SW and so rather than wail ignore it and focus on ur pdp and strategize how una go win APC

Tinubu has nothing to offer. He is not salable in the east or south south nor in the north. He is too oduduwa inclined. We need a detribalised politician to lead Nigeria. It will be a continuation of Buhari regime. This time it will be 100% Yoruba affair. Enough of these tribalistic extremists.

Another clown. Who were the aspirants? Weren't both of them from the South West?

The Yorubas wanted Olú Falae but the usual antagonistic tendencies kicked in.

I am glad you referenced '99. The PDP owes the South East the presidency and I say this without sarcasm or mockery. The party does but you are not asking from the party but from a man you all hate and his region you all detest.

Alex Ekueme '98, does it ring a bell?

Isn't it hilarious?

You should always calm down before you reply.
Why did the two main parties have Yoruba candidates?

Where is Jonathan from?

South East not getting the presidency is whose fault?

You think because of zoning, SE would just sit somewhere like akpu and the ticket would be dropped on its lap?

Wake up!!! Smell the coffee!!!

Any Nigerian has the right to contest for any political position.

It is now left for us the voting populace to decide whether we want him or not.

Tinubu shot himself in the leg many times and the north did not say anything cos it favours them, that issue of bullion van will be used against him by same people that was cheering him then. Well good luck to him. But when will Nigeria have a young smart educated president and not all this old power rotating leaders
[color=#006600][/color My brother, carryout some research work and bring suggestion of names of vibrant, smart, educated and intelligent young fellows and create a platform on nairaland for discussions I strongly believe it won't be a bad begining.

The Yourba and Tinubu should have it , they are more serious for this position .. Which south East candidate baby Sabo and Traitor Orji Uzor kalu or the Supreme court Governor ? Igbo Politicians are selfish and self serving . Unless they win without Igbo vote they likes of Orji Uzor Kalu think he will get favour by sabotaging the genuine Agitation of his people !

No yoruba man will be president in 2023. Even the discerning ones among them know this.

Umar Inusa is simply collecting his own share of the bullion van loot. grin

They don't have the numbers and moreover yorubas are not united, some want osinbade, some are clamouring for tinubu, the other ones are after Amotekun, yoruba Muric wants full fulani rulership, the others want oduduwa. All crabs in a bucket. grin

You should always calm down before you reply.
Why did the two main parties have Yoruba candidates?
Fun facts:

1. Alex Ekueme never wanted Obasanjo.
2. Quite contrary to PDP "dropping" the power in the laps of the Yorubas, it was the military that saw to Obasanjo's ascension and Ekueme was bitter about it and felt he could have thwarted Obasanjo's presidency.
3. Alex Ekueme contested the PDP's primary with Obasanjo but lost to Obasanjo in February 1999.
4. The North actually gave the presidency to the South at the time as a result of the military rule which was primarily headed or led by Northerners.

Power wasn't dropped on the laps of the Yorubas. It was a contest between the South East and the South East at the party's primary and the South West won.

Read up: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/08/why-i-did-not-stop-obasanjo-from-becoming-president-in-1999-by-alex-ekwueme-2/amp/

Falae contested under AD party but lost. The AD, like APGA have always been a regional party. The difference is that one was dynamic and had fluid leadership that allowed the party morph into whatever.

Note that this was at the end of military rule and it wasn't as now where 400 political parties contest.

What were you asking again?

Inaki, stop saying what you don't know.

Just know this.
Whenever a Yoruba man is on the ballot.
He will always get bloc votes from the west, even though opposition will vote for him.
