Having said this. We need as much squad depth as well can get. Xhaka will not always be fit. EPL is a marathon, throw in Europa and FA cup and League cup and you get the feeling we need quality squad depth.
Competition also bring the best out of players.

So, we should not be sidetracked from still upgrading our midfield options this transfer window.
Getting Partey in will be good and will keep the midfield competition strong and ticking nicely with players upgrading their match performance to lay a stake in the starting line up, week in, week out.

In my opinion, both Xhaka and Mustafi improved under Arteta.

There was a time Xhaka played LCB which gave room for Bukayo to excel.

My point is, Xhaka is the type of player that provides balance and stability to the team. He isn't the best defensive midfielder out there, neither is he the best central midfielder, but I assure you, he is more of the type of player that controls and dictates the pace of the game. He is more like a mordern day Pirlo.

Mustafi on the hand was erratic and lacked confidence, but when he started playing with Luiz, who sadly can be more erratic than him, his game improved. My point is, Mustafi is the kind of player that needs strong people around him or good support system to bring out the best in him.

That is what Arteta has brought to this Arsenal team.

The environment is healthy and positive. Kudos to Arteta for that.

We are playing more like a whole unit, like a family, it seems everyone wants to give in their best for the team. That's why I'm indifferent about us selling Guendouzi, we can't have any one disrupting the flow of the team right now.
