But let me tell you, in the late 90s and early 2000s as I can recall, managers then we're very ruthless. Do you know how many careers Wenger and Fergie ended because those players were stubborn. Go and check about Boa Morte and Dwight Yorke and both coaches role in ending their careers. Also it was Wenger that finished Vieira.

The thing is Wenger is sympathetic towards younger players due to he understands their age issues. But none I can remember of Wenger's proteges were stubborn towards him except Vieira. RVP was sold to raise money but he never criticised W. publicly.
