Osimhen benched for Napoli opener

Gennaro Gattuso will reportedly leave Victor Osimhen on the bench to begin with in Napoli’s Serie A season opener with Parma.

The coach was expected to test out his starting XI during a friendly against Sporting CP last night, but that was cancelled at the last minute after the Portuguese team had several COVID-19 positive tests.

According to Radio Kiss Kiss, Napoli will initially leave record-breaking signing Osimhen on the bench against Parma on Sunday.

Instead, it will be a classic 4-3-3 formation with Dries Mertens flanked by Matteo Politano and Lorenzo Insigne.

Osimhen requires more of a 4-2-3-1 system with more players fanning out in support of the Nigerian striker.

Wow Gattuso has already identified the system that best suits Osimhen

Things are changing. I believe that the 2019 under17 set will make it. Allready olakunle olusegun is scoring goals in denmark. I think some reforms are being made in the area of agents. Samson Tijani was caught up in Agent problems but he overcame it and went to red bull in a fantastic deal. Things are definately improving

We still don't have a platform in Nigeria where these players will carefully and gradually developed to their full potentials, assumed the overseas deal didn't work out.

I have little hope in the 2019 under 17.

Tijani and Jinadu are probably the two that might come out

Tijani and Jinadu are probably the two that might come out

The platforms are

1. The national private investors league. It is an alternate league that will start before December this year. It will be by privately owned clubs and it will be televised.
2. Vandrezer fc which is a new club run like a modern European club. It will change the narrative of nigerian football
3. Bafcelona has a football academy licated in lagos. The owners are serious about developing talent in the la masia model.
4. A few football academies now only sell to developmental clubs in Europe and not just any big club.

Besides Akinkunmi Amoo and olakunle olusegun will make it because they are in small teams that are focussed on developing young playees.
Also the MRI machine is helping as these boys are still young and time is on their side. Players like Musa Muhammed and Alhassan muazum Ibrahim are still under 25
2.

Forget about Mikel Agu, he and Emmanuel Dennis are not going anywhere, nobody really wants either of them, all na PR to get attention. Neither of the two is moving.

I like your spirit. cheesy. Hopefully we will be spoilt for choices in this era. Hopefully most of these foreign-born players that decide to play for us don't do it cos their quality is just too low to get into the national teams of their countries of birth. cheesy

What I could get from that is with the exception of Akpogunma, scooping the other defenders would be a MASSIVE coup for the Super Eagles

The only reason why thier value is like this is simply because they are "Germans".At this thier level, after playing for us thier value will drop except if they are extraordinary

It's not so hard, that was the system he used at Lille and Napoli forwards have the same traits just about.

Jordan and Uduokhai will be solid additions to the team. I think Jordan is good enough for Germany even now.

Akpoguma will be a good bench option.

The player I want really is Jordan Torunarigha, he I will be an improvement on what we have already. Felix Uduokhai will make a good back up, but I don't rate Akpoguma. Awaziem is a better center back than Akpoguma

The future is bright. if Leicester coach continues to play Ndidi as a CB,very soon Rohr will have no choice than to follow suit.

Rohr won't move Ndidi to CB because Rodgers is playing him there..
Even if Ndidi plays the entire season as a CB for Leicester,he won't play CB for the SE..

I'm certain of that...

The German boys might not be on the list. It depends on whether everything is completed before then. But we will get some new names
