Why is Xiaomi replacing their core system apps with Google's on their new phones? Eg. Message, Dialer, Contacts, Calendar

Aren't there apps what make MIUI unique? The replacements are so ugly... Very ugly.

Where did you download the APK from? Also show a screenshot of the said error.

Works fine here with the Redmi note 9s, both cast option and wireless display. But, is there no wireless display option on your Redmi Note 5? Wonder why downloading a third party app for that.

I don't know how it works with this TCL smart TV then. The TV shows up on the wireless display option but never connects, and the Cast option never finds the TV. RN5 connects with the TV easily via wireless display but not cast.

So I have no idea what's to blame here.

Same here... Though mine connected via wireless and cast on two occasions but it doesn't hold connection any longer. My phone would see the TV but it keeps connecting with holding up.

I have suffered in d hand of our sister company with battery and charging wahala... So a strong battery is a must..
I run quite a lot of apps at once too.. And would not mind a sharp camera.. That's all.

well that's weird, have you tried clearing app cache and maybe force stopping the app then try again?

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 10 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process
