'By and by' according to dictionary means 'soon'.

Remember the song that says:

'by and by when the morning comes.
When the saints shall be gathered at rest.
We will tell the story how we overcome.
We will understand it better by and by.

That 'by and by' in the song means 'soon'.

What i am saying is that i will post the pictures soon.

Not that I don't have the wherewithal to buy a solid phone to snap and post pictures therewith.

I have the means, but since I am expecting Npower to give us devices,

I believe that buying any such phone now would be something of a waste.

I believe we would soon be given our devices wherewith I would be snapping and posting pictures of Akwa Ibom and Uyo.

Thank you Ma for following the thread.
Ok my dear.

I like Abuja.

beauty7:
I went to the following places in Abuja:
Nysc secretariat,Gowon house.

I managed to enter inside despite strict security and questions from civil defence and soldiers.

I climbed to the last floor ie the 6th floor.

There I saw the DG NYSC who had just arrived with soldiers and few civilians

I went into Federal high court opposite the NYSC sec to use the ATM.

I went to eagles square but was afraid to enter because of the military parade inside.

Opposite eagle square is Tafawa balewa house.

A stone throw from eagle square is Federal secretariat which i entered.

Subsequently,i went to Zako plaza and bought drinks which are squeezed from water melon and oranges.

By God's help i visited many places in Abuja like Asokoro district,Bayelsa state guest house,

I passed by NIPC where i observed the Transcorp hilton hotel.

I counted the number of floors(of the Transcorp hilton hotel) to be 10

Visited the corporate affair commission.

Also visited NCC near NIPC. Visited NEPC.

In most cases,i observed the building from the gate.

It is hard to go inside some of them without genuine reason because of security.

Visited so many places which i can't write due to space and time

I love the way you are able to write the names of the villages and towns with their kilometers.

When traveling,i rarely take note of the distance in km of villages and towns.

I will start doing so.
beauty7:
Sokoto to Gusau

We started from Sokoto by 8:13 am and left the gate of sokoto capital, entering Kwanawa(an area in sokoto state) which lies 205km from Gusau(The Zamfara state capital).

We drove to Dange Shuni LG of sokoto

On the highway which is 205km from Gusau there are many villages with mud/red earth houses with typical hausa settings and towns such as:

Small village in Dange shuni with round roofs over mud/red earth houses between 184 and 183 km from Gusau

small village on the road with mud houses around 177 km mark from Gusau near an open desert by the right

Small village around 167 km from Gusau

Small town at Tureta between 152 and 150 km from Gusau

We reached the boundary between Sokoto and zamfara.

Then we reached a small town called Danba Bakura in Zamfara around 116 km from Gusau

Kwana Kalgo village around 109 km from Gusau

At Mafara bye pass around 100 km from Gusau, the car took the right road and passed via the following villages in Zamfara:

Bakin Zazi

Kaya tawa

Tunfafiya

The car came out on the straight road again and passed via:

Danbanza village at 79 km from Gusau

Gidan Kano village around 70km from Gusau

In Gidan Kano, there is a stream where fish are caught and prepared for buyers. It is well seasoned and is very delicious according to the driver.

Immediately after Gidan Kano,we reached a small bridge on the road.

We then entered the following villages/towns on the road side in Zamfara:

Tasha Mayanshi

Kuzawa around 57km from Gusau

Kadauri

Then there is a sign board whereon is written: Welcome to Lugga district ,around 48km from Gusau.

In this part of the town, there are many wavy hills.

Then we entered Maru LGA of Zamfara state where i saw Maru LG secretariat, and College of Education Maru.

The bus drove to Dan Marke town in Maru LG

Between 34 and 32 km from Gusau, there is a road by the right leading to Kanoma town in Zamfara state

What does Abak mean and
Why is Abak local government normally called Abak ikot awa

beauty7:
After the check point,we entered Akwa ibom state and drove via the following villages/towns in Akwa ibom:

Essien udim LGA wherein I saw the following:

Ikot Ineme

odoro ikot

ukana

ukana odoro ikot

Nsasak afaha

Ikot ukpong etor

Essien ukana

We then entered Ikot ekpene LGA

To us from Ikot ekpene LGA,the real name of the LGA is Ikot apene which means "The bush of cassava".

Ikot means 3 things namely:

(1) People,
Ikot Abasi(The people of GOD)

(2) Descendant
Ikot Otu(The descendant of Otu)

(3) Bush
Ikot ekpene(The bush of cassava or cassava bush)

I do not know what Abak means.

But I know that Abak is called Abaag Ikot Anwan pursuant to the fight between the local people and the British colonial invaders at the valley lying between Ediene and Abak Clans.

Abaag means 'valley' and Anwan means 'fight'.

So the whole area later become known as Abaag Ikot Anwan.

This is because the fight took place in a valley(Abaag in local dialet).

Abak became the seat of Government in 1902 after the British conquer the local people.

Abak as at that time included the present Ukanafun, Oruk Anam, Etim Ekpo, Ika and the present Abak.

It was in the Old cross river state.

But after the creation of Akwa Ibom state from the Old cross river state,

Abak is presently a local government in Akwa Ibom state.

I was once in Akwaibom. God! I love that state. Maybe it was cuz of the company of ppl I had around me. Went to Uyo, Ikot ekpene, Abak, Oruk anam (ikot ibritam, ika, barracks, ekparakwa), oron, n was almost going to uruan cuz of my gul. But she was afraid to even go there. Her dad is her uncle. Family banished him for impregnating his sister of which she was the result. But she's pretty tho n also a nympho.

What positive things did you add to her life while dating her. Some people think that they will go free for using and dumping someone. I pity you.

I took train this evening from rigasa in kaduna to kubwa in Abuja.

The train took off by 6:04pm and arrived Abuja by exactly 8:08pm ie 2 hours drive.

It drove through thick bush and villages.
The AC was on while we watched TV.

There were policemen who escorted the train.

I went to the counter inside train and bought meat pie and drinks.

The prices are a bit higher than the normal prices.
Big lacasara is N200.
Cup of tea is N500.
Meat pie is N300.

Surprisingly, all their bottle water were not cold at all even though all other drinks and minerals were cold.

Muslims broke their fast and prayed inside the train.

I really enjoyed the trip.

My ticket number was SP3 Number 16.

I wish i had the phone facility to post the images of the journey.

I am in Abuja this night.

Tomorrow i am going to Lokoja after sightseeing in Abuja.

Thank you Jesus

Next time,I must post pictures although I don't intend to travel anytime soon.

Today I went to Nwaniba village in Uruan local government area of Akwa Ibom state.

I took pictures of Usuk river in Nwaniba Uruan. This side is normally referred to as Ifiayong Usuk.

It is in Nwaniba village.

According to my grand mother, during the Nigeria Biafra war when she fled from Ikot ekpene, her child died at itam junction when bullet entered his head.

After burying her child at itam junction, she and other women ran to Ifiayong Usuk and boarded one of these canoes on this river which took them to Cross river state.

That was in the 1960s

Below is the river:

Below are the pictures of a stream in Abak local government area of Akwa Ibom state.

That stream is near the bridge immediately after saint Mary's senior science college(SMASCO) Edienne Abak.

I had to enter through a bushy valley at the side of the bridge to take the pictures.
