Does that mean you have never done any system update(MIUI) since you got your phone?

2. Phone app is the Google Dailer that came with your phone. Go to playstore and check My apps and games and look for the phone app there and update.

3. Post a screenshot of the about phone section of your phone from settings.

Redmi Note 7 Pro. India ROM users

http://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.0.1.0.QFHINXM/miui_VIOLETINGlobal_V12.0.1.0.QFHINXM_634e909327_10.0.zip

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 10 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process
Guy, you suppose to warn the link is for beta ROM and not the stable.

Google apps are ugly. Dialer, Contacts, Messages, Calender, etc.
I hope Xiaomi doesn't bring these fuckery to my device once I update to MIUI 12.

If you want to stick with MIUI Apps stick to buying Chinese Versions with CN ROM or Indian Versions with Indian ROM

Google calendar is actually super reliable, I can't find any calendar coming close to it in terms of reliability & backup.

Custom MIUI ROMs based on CN ROM, flashing Indian ROM if it exists for your device.

Na Redmi note 8 he talk there o, not Redmi 8

Hmm.... I'm thinking of getting either redmi note 8 or redmi 9... just that redmi 8 has snapdragon while 9 is G85 or so

Redmi note 8 is better.

Except you're referring to Redmi 8 since they're around the same price bracket, then buy the Redmi 8

How do I stop Note 9 Pro from ending my recent apps in background after some hours? I already tried locking the apps but it didn't help. Also turned off optimization in Developer settings but it didn't stop.

The processors are kinda head to head with each other

This Comparision might help with final purchase decision
