Guy made key passes more than any other player in 45 minutes with retention ability near 95 percent. I hope aouar is anything close to that level is we have to fork out 60m for him. It's really a game of chess with transfers now and this is where the recruiters need to earn their pay.

The thing is, I've not seen any match that kola started and arsenal as a whole played convincingly. And that's why I'll agree on what spy said on how he limits our play. If Tierney is still injured, play Gabriel (since he's left footed), draft in Luiz(I think he'll be back), then play either saka or niles in the wb role. That's the only way I feel we can get something out from Liverpool.

Kola starting or not depends on weda I'll watch that game or not.

The same league produced payet, hazard and kante.
So I'm not ruling anyone out. That's why I watch highlights(more than 4 o) to have an idea of the person's attribute.

I hope we get an AM and get him to start playing. Because I sincerely doubt if Arteta's 3-4-3 will continue to work especially as we are facing Liverpool.

Alternatively, Arteta can use Willian as a decoy in the AM role with Pepe on the left. Tactical flexibility is a must if we want to be relevant by Dec.

For a team as Arsenal I would not want a Thiago type at the base of our midfield. Roland17 brought to light the type of midfielder he is and since then I lost interest. With need a Partey/Dacoure/Ndidi type.

Thiago will work excellently if we were the dominant side. But we are not so dominant even against smaller teams. And that's the problem Chelsea has whenever they face a top side. Jorginho is poor defensively and hardly provides enough cover for the back four.

Midfielders like Thiago and Jorginho are better fit into dominant sides like Liverpool.

A good thing would have been to play Gabriel in that position. But I'd prefer he changed the entire formation and include another midfielder.

Since Willian can play the AM role, he only needed to draft in Pepe/Saka on the left wing. Then let Kolasinac stick to his LB role.

He was just confused about what he needed to do or where he needed to be. It even made Saka struggle. Saka only redeemed himself with that wicked pass for Ceballos to assist Nketiah.
