cool

We all know NNPC lied, trying not to pay compensation...

They even shamefully went on to say the lands where acquired illegally

When NNPC were called, after this video, they still denied that ruptured pipeline caused the explosion despite overwhelming evidence
Why do we like denial in this country?
Whenever there is complaint or observation, the first line of response is to deny such an observation ever occurred!
A policeman will, unprovocatively shoot and kill people and when complaint is made, NPF will deny, saying that their officers are proffesionals who will nor harm the citizens they are to protect embarassed

Maintenance culture in this country is zero

It is terrible bro. There is nothing like maintenance Culture!
The Local Govt supposed to be the grassroot linkage with the State and Federal as third-tier but they(local govt) have been strangulated by most Governors in Nigeria,as they hijacked the Funds and nothing is happening their. If the Local government is really working they will know anything strange going on in their vicinity.
In fact ,Nigeria has lost its Constitutionalism that Jurists like Akinola Aguda,Justice Oputa and the likes of Gani Fawehinmi,Tunji Braithwait were fighting tooth and nail have been thrown into dustbin.Today, nobody can pinpoint the role of the executive, legislature and Judiciary to average Nigerians, the down- throden. In few weeks now,our leaders should tell what they have been able to achieve since independence, after all, Chinese will be celebrating their own Independence at the same time!

Mele Kyari lied!

He claimed a truck hit a gas plant thereby absolving NNPC of any responsibility. Thankfully, there is investigative journalism (not Abike Dabiri’s brand o) that has shown that it was a product pipeline that burst!

Anytime I remember this it breaks my heart. My friend perished in that explosion with his 2weeks old wife, father, mother and many others that lived with them, his brother even came back from the U.S because of the marriage. Attached is the remain of their mansion and the school (Lindaves school) belonging to the father. Government should make sure all expired lines are serviced to make sure this doesn't happen again. RIP Onyedikachi Iyooh.

Please take heart and RIP to them.

It's so painful.

With the way things are unfolding in NNPC...I think it should be privatized as Atiku talk
And how would privatisation solve an issue like this, it would even be worse because it is not in the government's hands anymore, dangote and his killer trucks are a big example.

Should we just continue talking about the problems, or it is time for all of us to work on the solutions as Edo people did to avoid the bullionaire godfather’s annexation of their state treasury?

I feel private companies are more accountable...government just needs to have a regulatory agency to guide them...and about Dangote trucks...it’s a franchise

they can't conduct theirs

This is called investigative journalism which unfortunately we do not have in Nigeria except maybe Olunloyo and she hardly get involve in government business .besides, she is too preoccupied with davido and chioma mater to have time for things like this our journalists will rather go interview rogues politicians that will lased their pockets with brown envelope after every interview .

So the Nigeria government just killed this news and couldn't even investigate it. You need bbc to come and investigate for you? Shame on this country, shame you need bbc to uncover your rot, same way they did in the sex for grade saga. A corrupt practice that's has been going on for decade.
They will soon investigate Nigeria SARS brutal killing before the sick government will wake up

Even if NNPC the Northern Nigeria petroleum Company wants to hide the truth, why should LASG also collablorate with them to do so. For APC, its all about lies and covering up the evils of the Northern Government of Nigeria. Spittttss!

If you used only a tiny little fraction of your brain, you would know that the UK government provides the environment that enables their healthcare system to be good enough for Barawo Bubu to waste our scarce resources going there. In addition to authorising his travel.
