cucumber plants has fibrous roots that can reach out 10+ inches from the stem,it it when you put fertilizers close to the stem that is when problems start,at least 4-6 inches away from stem,use stick open a hole,put one plastic spoon and close with soil,it is the work of the roots to absorb the fertilizer not the stem.

Please do you have a picture of this CU 986? I want to try it now that there is scarcity of Saira which is the preferred brand in my state based on Color. Our market prefers light coloured cucumbers. The lighter the colour, the better.

I had tried a pack of Cu999 along with Saira and it was difficult to sell the Cu999.

it's left for a good farmer to research his market very well before committing funds,I remember when we planted Murano and it was a disaster,no customer wants it,we have to take it to enugu to be sold,there's a limit to the info you will get on the internet,to complete the jigsaw you must go out on fieldwork,my farmer friend in PH is having similar problems with marketing of cu ,999,so he want to try cu 986 ,it's medium size and lighter olive green in colour,any farmer that depends only on internet info is shortsighted,for me the first stage of farming is the market.

I did experience a bit of this but it wasn't as serious as that. It's mainly the rows closest to the cu 999 that were affected. I think the cu999 Gene is dominant.

Meanwhile this is what I got as cu986. The packaging is somehow. I thought they are usually in tins. Is this how the coy now sells? I hope I'm not buying a 2nd generation (F2) seeds.

yes,you can mix the two,it helps to reduce and neutralize the burning power of chicken manure,we are even mixing today to apply on pepper,after mixing one full hand of manure is ok per planting hole.

There's no basic calculation to what grams per hole, I use takeaway pack. I haven't mixed poultry and piggery manure so I can't tell of that

Just planted the cu986 this afternoon. Nandini will be planted on Monday. Didn't have enough courage to buy more of the cu986.

cow manure is the coldest of all cold manure and I don't think it is a good idea to us it exclusively,pig manure is a better alternative after chicken manure.
