chatinent: Chai.... Confession time. My friend and I were fond of peeping thru the next person bathing at the other room. Poverty is bad sha. Then, we were living in an apartment with my parents then, and the general bathroom has two bathrooms with zinc demarcation. The demarcation had holes in it, so my friend and I would always wait till when women were about to bath, so we will enter the next and watch (effect of porn then) A certain day, a woman in the other room caught me but the woman only confronted me but God safe my head that she didn't tell everyone in d compound then. Poverty is bad Face 2 face house is bad 46 Likes 2 Shares |

Falling from a coconut tree 15 years ago when I heard my entire community screaming. I didn't know why they were screaming. Here is the short story. In my community, we have two oil companies (Total and Agip). For the past 5 years, Total E&P has been building a gas turbine for us, but we lost hope because it has taken so long. Agip was also building one. The plan was to give 24/7 constant free light to us based on MoU. We do use NEPA and Total pays the bill — in billions of Naira. Meaning: we don't pay NEPA bills, but the light wasn't constant, yet NEPA keeps billing these oil companies every month. One day, I was at a bushy garden with a friend, a little far from home and houses to pluck coconut. All of a sudden, we heard the loudest scream on Earth and he didn't know what was happening. Since I was at the top of the coconut, I paid attention and heard, "Light don come, light don come." I sighted a 2-storey building and saw light everywhere. Omoh, I screamed and guess what? I let go of my hands at the top of the coconut tree (out of excitement) and slammed myself on the ground. I almost died, but I stood, picked my machete and we started running home. We didn't care to carry any coconut again. We got home and truly, it was a f*cking full voltage light unlike NEPA. It even destroyed some people's appliances and bulb. So, for 15+ years now, we have always had free constant light and most people here don't use gas, but electric stove. It saves cost on gas cooker and fuel. Though, once in a while, when some crazy rain bring down polls or destroy transformers, there is blackout for some days or weeks until they get fixed. We went back to the bush after our eyes don clear to pick our coconut, but we couldn't see them. Sharp guys don move am. Fruit and vegetables were actually free and surplus back then, so we didn't care. Thanks for my life and all the crazy/dangerous risks I took as a teenager. I had even worse adventures than this, but let me not talk about them because they are scary. I'd rather write a book with them and make money than share them for free. Content Is King. Your stories (when packaged) can make you rich, so be wise. #Smile. 34 Likes 2 Shares |

I was a very loud boy at home, but quiet in school. I was known for making the hell of a noise in the compound. As I grew up, I adjusted and that made me a better person today if not I would be talking about anything that arises even if it isn't my business. I was also known for fighting. There was a time in my school I hit my class captain on the head, she cried and the whole males in the class descended on me. I never believed I could take them down. I defeated 17 boys in my class(i love watching snake in the monkey shadow) I mastered the skills accurately and used the boys in my class as a practical. The teacher came in and punished all the males except me. The same female class captain reported to the teacher and was crying that they wanted to kill me. After that incident, I started sitting with her in the class. That was how I changed from being a blockheaded boy to a serious pupil. Out of 36 pupils, I made the 30th position in class, but ever since I started sitting with her, my position changed, I started making the 6th position. 72 Likes 2 Shares |

Too much watching of cartoons especially dexter affected me cause I started behaving like him. I so much loved science and creating things. The day e cast na d day sth Lost for class they were to search all our bags, I didnt steal anything but I wasn't comfortable cause I knew what was in my bag. I was swinging with the ropes meant for drying clothes that was connected to the fence of the house, then all of a sudden I heard a very loud sound, like an earthquake. Guess what? The huge fence of the house had collapsed. It fall backwards. Everything was on the ground, and I could see the next compound. The next thing I knew, the landlord was standing just right in front of me. Omo see run na. I ran into my house, climbed and hid in the upper part of the wardrobe in my room. The landlord chased me. Omo it was not a funny experience o. My dad had to pay for the fence to be rebuilt. 40 Likes |

Being an introvert, I still am, I don’t play well with others, I avoid anything and everyone I see have sharp mouth (still do, reason being, I discover it doesn’t matter what happened and who did wrong, the child with the most composure, that can explain without crying when an elder asked what happened WINS). Now there’s this stubborn boy, he love to play rough! Something around my age, but I was always taller than my age group, that and my shyness infuriate him somehow. He will kick me and run, poke me, God, he was always on my nerves, everyone sees him and even his mom advised me, if he kick you, beat him very well, I was hesitant, I just don’t want trouble. Then one day, late at night, everyone was looking at the moon, playing, I was standing all by myself, he won’t just let me be, I was really pissed, as he was coming again, I don’t know what he had in mind, I turned and I hit him so hard he fell to the ground, by the time people came around, he was bleeding from one eye, I have never been that scared in my life. I kept asking if he will be alright! He was rushing to the hospital, I never left our apartment for months, so even now, I stay the Bleep from everyone. Nobody cares if he was the stubborn one, that singular act marked me till we left that area. 29 Likes |

My father was a disciplinary to the core. I was punished (flogged) for every rule I broke, if not immediately, then when 'my cup became full'. On this fateful day I forget to put off our electric burner and I left for school. Luckily for me there were many power cuts that day so the house did not burn down but the pot of beans I left on the burner got burnt and was pure black. When my dad returned home he perceived the burning smell and asked if I did put off the burner. Guess what, I lied. The cut the story short, my dad made me eat the burnt beans, allowed me to sleep for two hours, then woke me up..He stripped me naked and told me to lie on the table. He would flog me about 15 strokes and allow me to cry 'rest' for about 10minutes, then I'll climb the table and repeat the whole process again. I received about 100strokes that day and the scares are still visible on my back till today. When my mum returned home and saw me, she bursted into tears and a serious quarrel ensued between her and my dad.. 33 Likes 1 Share |
