Just to encourage us all on this journey. I assessed with VETASSESS for Valuer.

I applied for priority process,
paid on 11th of September 2020
got receipt on 14th Septemeber 2020
got a mail from VETASSESS approving that I was eligible for priority process 16th September 2020
got my positive outcome letter on 19th September 2020 (date on the letter was even 17th September 2020).

I claimed 11 years plus (including NYSC) work experience, but got 9 years as positive. NYSC wasn't considered and 1 year from my experience (1st employment) was used to calculate the qualifying period required to meet the skill level of the nominated or closely related ANZCO occupation.

meaning, if all is in order, the assessment process is done speedily. I was actually looking forward to September 30th, 2020 (considering the 10 business days timeline for priority process) for the outcome letter and it happened in 4days.

I wish us all the best in the process!

Congrats!

Just two quick questions please.

1. Did you send all (including undergrad) transcripts to VETASSESS initially, and ensured all transcripts were received by VETASSESS, before applying online or did you scan your transcripts and uploaded in your online application?

2. Is undergrad transcript compulsory even when one has postgrads (e.g MSc/PhD)?

Thanks in anticipation for your response.

I think you can get answers on the Canadian thread: https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled

I haven't done any yet. Hoping to draw inspiration here. smiley

This is scary.

Is it all foreign degrees that can't assess as level 1 or just my degree from ABU? Every other occupation that has to do with journalism is Level 1 from what I've seen so far, boss.

My husband's Occupational Health and Safety Officer role is also a level 1 occupation. He has an FUTMx degree. His BTech degree was started in 200L - direct entry.

I said EA because I assumed EA is Educational Assessment grin grin grin grin

Any further advise on what to do at this moment will be life saving. Please help.
All 5 year degrees and above or 4 year degrees from UI, OAU, FUTA and Unilag can do level 1 also.

Also note this is not applicable to all assessing bodies.

In your husband's case, not sure how that will turn out cos it's not a 5 year degree but he can try by providing letter of explanation on the Direct entry qualification and also provide transcript of his initial qualification.

For you to assess for skill 1 occupation, your degree must either be a 5 year course or obtained from Unilag, FutMina or UI
Any thing short of this will lead to a negative outcome.

FUTA, Uni of Ibadan, OAU or UniLag

Hello Kampack

I have both ND & BSc - sent both transcripts. Communicated with VETASSESS till they confirmed receipt before proceeding with the application. I already had all the necessary documents ready for upload.

Once, they confirmed receipt of the first transcript (ND), I uploaded all docs and waited for the confirmation of my second transcript before paying and submitting the application.

Then, a higher degree (MSc/MBA/Phd) would be relevant, if it won't adversely affect the number of relevant work experience you want to claim. Where the experience would be affected, it's better to stick to your BSc and claim your experience from after your BSc (where relevant).

Regards

Your move was smart!

One final question please. Sorry to bother you this much. I'm just trying to get things straight.

As in WES, was there a 'Reference number' marked on your transcript (generated from VETASSES online platform) enabling vetassess to recognise the sent transcripts as yours?

You are not bothering... it's better to get it right once and for all.

So, for VETASSESS, the ref number isn't really important. They have a way to match docs to its owners. Hence, it is safe to go ahead. Just ensure the appropriate mailing address is indicated on the package and you are tracking the parcel all the way.

For instance, I think they are still on lock down. So, you can send a mail to them with your tracking number and ask that they contact the courier company to redirect the parcel to a preferred address. But ensure you keep tracking, so you can alert them when the parcel gets to Melbourne - I did this for my transcripts, respectively.

All the best!

I've checked out the priority route. Bros you try! 400k equivalent no be joke, but will, certainly, be worth the expense on the long run.
Best wishes bro!

Hello every one, please I have a question.
My qualification is BSc Applied Biology and Biotechnology, I have a certificate in Health,Safety and Environment. My occupation fall under 134213(Primary health organization manager) because I work in a health organization as an Enlightenment Officer.
My fear is that my qualification and occupation are not in the line. Can I go ahead and evaluate with Vetassess?

I don't think PHOM aligns with an enlightenment officer. Go through the job descriptions for primary healthcare organisation manager and check against yours.

Thanks Tunlex01 embarassed
I got so confused and worried I went reading again. That ABU can't assess as level 1 is so heartbreaking but ... we move.

So I should check for a level 2 job for my experience right? I am afraid I didn't find any. If there is a link for level 2 or tier 2 universities and kinds of jobs graduates fron there can assess positively as, please be kind and share.

Please in getting assessed by CPA Australia. Can I scan all the original copy of transcript by myself or the school has to send to them.
Secondly, do Nigerian schools give complete syllabus as required by CPA?

You can scan and upload high quality documents including transcript on the website.
Yes, Nigerian universities issue syllabus. Liaise with your department.
"If you are unable to obtain the official syllabus, we will accept a statutory declaration stating the reason for its non-availability and a detailed, personal summary of the relevant subjects. Ensure the statutory declaration is witnessed by a Justice of the Peace or notary officer."
