kellycute: they won't see this oo. Imagine they are using another man destiny to measure ndidi. Ndidi will play for bigger club soon, it is just a matter of time. The sky is wide and big for everyone to shine!. They should stop being emotional and allow ndidi to follow his own destiny path. Depends on the quality of passes, the range , difficulty etc. Ndidi is a sit-back kind of DM which means most of his passes are usually close-by |

Well, I will prefer Iheanacho to start.. He can drop deep and hustle for the ball too.. I just hope Kalu and Chukwueze will have their scoring boots on..no be to dy dribble alone o.. gbamest gbam! TheSuperNerd: This is exactly the argument that was next in line after Partey joined Arsenal. With the number of Arsenal fans on this thread, it was inevitable that the Partey-Ndidi comparison was gonna arise again.
But I was ready. And I kept enough receipts for an attempt at a balanced analysis.
Number 1: A Fallacy - Partey is a better player than Ndidi.
I am sorry, Partey is not a better player than Ndidi. And the Stats ratings shown below (apart from how long I have watched and seen both players) from whoscored for the past four seasons support this stance.
Partey is majorly a CM with much versatile qualities but that doesn't make him better. He is a CM afterall. And his passing accuracy is expectedly meant to be higher than that of DM in Ndidi (unless the DM in question is a Regista/DLP).
Ndidi is a DM. Also referred as a CDM (central defensive midfielder) whose role is basically to sit at the Midfield's base as the team's midfield Anchorman. Partey's role is a little different. He is a CM with the licence and abilities to get forward as he wills like a Box-to-box kind.
If there is anyone in the Super Eagles fold to compare partey directly to it would be Joe Aribo. Both are very similar kind of players and can play DM, CM and AM but are basically CMs with box-to-box qualities.
In their roles, both are World class performers but I can tell you for free that while Partey has been quite rated for a while due to his constant appearance in the UCL with Atletico Madrid, it is Ndidi who has been showing better improvements in the past two seasons compared to Partey (My next fallacy point will address one of the improvement areas - Passing).
Also, in Defensive actions alone, Partey has very decent numbers but he is no where close to the monstrosity of Ndidi's numbers in defensive actions. Ndidi led the whole of Europe (or was in top2/top3 on a few) in several defensive action stats and some others from Tackling, to interceptions per 90, to blocks, to counter pressures, to counter pressures turned immediately into an attack and more. So the comment that Partey does all that Ndidi does and more is fallacious. Partey only does it to a certain percentage but Ndidi does it at World class levels. That is the big difference. Partey only passes more, is more forward playing and that is it. He is a Bloody CM Naa.
Now on this point, the summary is this...VERSATILITY DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN BETTER. Afterall, if it is otherwise and Versatility always mean better then Etebo can also be said to be much better than both Partey and Ndidi. Etebo also gives prpgressive passes forward and his numbers at Gala are already racking up strongly. At the WC, Etebo has more take ons in one game against the WC finalists, Croatia than any other midfielder. Can Partey dream of such? Etebo's tackles rate is also up there... His interceptions game is also good and none of these two guys touch him on take-ons. Does that make him better? Versatility doesn't always mean better my good folks.
Bonus: Even as controversial as EA sports ratings can be sometimes, Ndidi has caught up with Partey as both players are now given the same Overall rating with 84 each.
In FIFA 19, Partey was 82. Ndidi was 81. In FIFA 20, partey was 84. Ndidi came up to 84 also. In FIFA 21, both remain on 84 with Ndidi having a potential cap of 88. Partey's 87.
Number 2: The passing stats. Partey or Ndidi. Who passes better?
On the overall, like I stated above, Partey is expected to having the better passing stats. And the whoscored ratings below prove that Partey has been the better ball passer in terms of Passing accuracy.
Even when I break the passing stats further down using Squawka stats matrix, you will find that Partey still edges it overall. Partey is definitely the more progressive passer of the two. No debates on that one.
But I have to point out something. Partey have always beaten Ndidi when it comes to Passing accuracy and for me, that is no surprise seeing as both are slightly different breeds of midfielders with actually different roles BUT JUST LAST SEASON, NDIDI HAD THE BETTER PASSING ACCURACY compared to Partey. Now that is shocking and true.
This again supports my statement that between the two, Ndidi is the one who has shown better improvements geometrically. "Out-passing" a ball-playing CM while still in your DM role (and you are no bloody Regista) mehn, that is something to take note of and keep a serious eye on. Ndidi's passing game has definitely made a quantum leap under Rodgers at Leicester in the past one year plus and the argument of Partey being a better passer will only hold now based on their previous seasons before 2019/2020.
With that said, Partey still made more passes in the Opposition half last season (770 in all) compared to Ndidi's 692. In their own half, Ndidi made more (729) compared to Partey's 600. Last season also, Partey delivered more throughballs (6) into the final third compared to Ndidi's 2.
So yes, Partey is the more progressive passer of the two but Ndidi has shown improvements in those progressing passing stats too as his numbers tell.
But when it comes to overall passing accuracy, Ndidi edged Partey for the first time, last season. That shows Ndidi really made crazy improvement in his passing game.
Number 3: The final point. Ndidi's Worth and Partey's Worth
You guys should be honest. If Ndidi had a release clause set at maybe 50M pounds, do you think some big club would not have come asking strong questions about the Midfield Anchorman?
But as it stands, there is no release clause on Ndidi so he could cost even higher. He has "a little arguably" been the Best DM in the EPL for the past three seasons and since his debut in the 2016/2017 campaign (from January 2017 even) he has been racking up numbers that only scream World class in that DM role. Numbers that absolutely define that DM role. So how much do you think he is gonna cost? Remember he is not coming from another league... He has been racking up those numbers in England. So that makes him even more valuable on the market for EPL clubs.
Partey had a release clause and to be honest, has Arsenal gotten Hossem Aouar, they won't have bothered with Partey this window. That is the truth. Arsenal fans in the house know this is true. Arsenal only went to activate Partey's clause that late b'cos they finally saw that they won't be getting Aouar this window. So they went for the guy they always considered their next midfield priority after Aouar.
If Arsenal wanted Partey that badly, why didn't they activate the clause a little sooner? Why wait till deadline day? It is b'cos Aouar was their top priority and not Partey. And 45M for Partey to make up on missing out on Aouar was a fair price to pay for the board to make to appease Arsenal fans and to make Mikel Arteta much happier with his current squad going forward.
If Andrewbaba44 can recall, I made a prediction on Leicester's next transfer big money sale some time ago before 2019/2020 season began or so... I mentioned Ben Chillwell, Maddison and Ndidi as the next guys that will bring in Huge cash for Leicester in the coming seasons.
So far so good, Chillwell has brought in 50M pounds for Leicester. Just like I predicted and we all know Ndidi will cost a little more than Chillwell. I understand Chillwell is English and has that "English factor" going for him hence his price tag but Ndidi has been the man in the EPL with crazy DM numbers and the whole of England knows that. So there is absolutely no way he won't go for more than his Transfermrkt.com value price currently put at 45M euros.
Ndidi will easily cost more than Partey. He is younger. And also a world class performer. So that is it.
In conclusion, Arsenal got a really fine player in Partey. And I say Congratulations... But I won't accept the fallacy that he is a much better player than Ndidi when Whoscored and even Sofascore say otherwise three times out of the past four seasons.
Good day to you all.

Ok...On Ndidi, Some folks here should know that what the coach/team demand will affect how a player plays. For instance, if Barca, a team known with passes and Passings, should sign Ndidi today, we all will discover another aspect of Ndidi's game we might never see at leceister. It is just a matter of what your team demand from you. 1 Like |

You shouldn't be using revenue, Net worth, fanbase as a yardstick, Epl is the most followed league and with the biggest investors? so teams there are bound to have more money than their Spanish counterparts Fanbase shouldn't even be in the argument and at the bolded, Atletico have obviously been the most consistent team of the two 3 Likes 2 Shares |
