Ah we miss Mikel... It's a pity we only have a scout in Rohr and not a coach. The faxt that your players are struggling to trap the ball and string passes together says a lot about you as the coach.
Is it the coach's duty to teach players how to pass or trap the ball?

hmm interesting

The way family and friends of players pop up on this thread when we're talking about our homegrown player ages though. Coincidence or?

Many of us don't watch league 1, only you do. I've seen Onyedinma once or twice at Millwall, nothing special.

At least, oforboh has an appearance in the EPL.

What has Onyedinma done this season thus far? Has e done better than Oforboh?

How many people are singing Nwakali praises here? They are not up to 5, I've never been one of them, I don't rate him and I don't expect him to be in our team anytime soon.

Onyedinma has been mentioned a million times by komekn. If the national team's technical crew is deliberately ignoring Onyedinma why haven't the 'unbiased' England football club system noticed his 'talent'?

Like you i'm tired of this diversionary tactic of bringing up Nwakali's name to cover up his bias.

Oga which chance dem give onauchu

Even the sub self wetin dem play ?
Did you watch the match at all?

What about the passes he received on two occasions during a counterattack build up which he was supposed to simply trap and hold the ball for the on- rushing wingers to position themselves.

What did he do? he waywardly latched the ball back to where it was coming from out of fear and jittery. Eventually stalling the promising attack as the ball went out of play. Don't tell me you didn't see that.

What of the one Iwobi gave him right in front of the box during another dangerous attack. A quick, sublime pass that passed by an Algerian defender and was meant to end up at Onuachu's feet and see him head towards the goalkeeper. What happened?

His legs suddenly became too short to receive the damn ball. Onuachu poorly positioned himself and the ball gently rolled away.

I saw the disappointment in Iwobi's face. A daring effort wasted!

I was so furious that day ehn. The saddest thing is that Rohr kept him on the pitch for too long.

Even to press the defenders he couldn't. It was Iwobi that was doing it for him most of the time
The guy was so useless.

You watched the afcon and you saw how Balogun was benched ?

You think rohr will bench ajayi ? When ndidi returns ajayi will go back to cb and it might affect Balogun

Ekong have a bad game and you wanna use it to judge him ? Don’t Balogun use to have bad game or have you forgotten his school boy error at the afcon ?

Ekong cannot start for any bundesliga team but he used to start about 30 games per season for udinese

Stop saying what you don’t know oga

Did you even see how ekong was solid against Brazil ?
Mr. You are as good as your last game.

Ekong was so terrible in that game. Seems you didnt watch it.

it's an excuse by insinuating that it's because about 40% of players weren't regular players, the same can be said for the Algeria team as well. In 90 minutes of play the SE players were clueless, couldn't create chances and were mostly on the back foot, anyway it's in the past now and we should focus on the Tunisia.

For your information he is responsible for making sure they play well. After the break there was no improvement so whose fault was that. A coach is responsible for instructing the players.

He's a coach for crying out loud.

What were players like Onuachu , Kalu and co doing on the pitch until 70 minutes?

Is it all the super eagle players that did well on their debut if i may ask ?

If we are judging all our players by their first game then we wont have more than 5 players in our current national team

I agree you don't need it. But if you truly don't, you wouldn't be constantly reminding us that you have unfiltered access to academies in UK, that you know most top scouts, and that you know the ins and outs of UK football.

Someone who says all those, constantly, is sure looking for recognition

You amaze me, overly. So, championship is the yardstick for super eagles call-up?

Nobody suggested that but you presumed that, l do not know where from.

If we can have players from the back waters of European football, invited to the SE. Why not the Championship

Using Etebo as a benchmark arguably our best Midfielder in the World cup and Afcon. Playing for Stoke he has been unable to be outstanding in the Championship. However, Ovie, Olise,
Tega Onomah, Eze have been stand out players in the championship leaving Etebo behind.

It is reasonable to presume therefore that if these Nigerian origin players were given opportunity in the SE. They may perfom as good or even better.

I will remind you that Aribo was essentially an English league one player when he came to the SE. And he immediately was outstanding.

I recall during the pre world cup qualifiers. I recall saying the least of our worries is the goalkeeping department. We needed creative midfielders. It is amazing how we expect to win games comfortably when there are no creative midfielders. The sad part is we were winning ugly and we got sooo comfortable with it that we forgot that a formidable team will expose Gernot Rorh. One would have thought Gernot learnt his lessons from the match against South africa in Uyo but no. He extended it to his friendlies. We were here when he was being "loyal" to the ones that got him qualified for the world cup at the expense of quality play. We were there at the world cup where he benched iwobi against Argentina. We were there when he kept on experimenting with 4-2-3-1 before and during the world cup. We were there when the only games eagles won or played pretty well in were games in which he played 3-5-2. We were there when he stuck to lone striker systems to accomodate certain players. All we were saying was oh what a good man manager he is.

Well he has managed the team well. The only problem is he forgot what he was hired to come and do. Instead of actually looking for perfect fit for positions, he started converting players to makeshift. Hss anyone ever asked what his coaching philosophy is? All i see him do is make excuses and run his own self assembled squad down by making them play like minnows. I cant for the life of me imagine losing to Madagascar. Small time, we will say there are no minnows in football. How do you have good arsenals on the bench and play a certain useless formation that can only thrive with a proper creative midfielder and be relying on misfits (positionally) to cross balls accurately? Heck what do they even do in training, I am tempted to ask? Saddling Etebor with freekicks? Does he even hit target in training? Etebor has never been a 10, nor a central midfielder. He is an attacker. This Gaffer converted him and he became a tackler... and of course, we were happy. Yaay...Etebor is a baller! How long will it take us to realize that the problem is not in lack of talents. It is in philosophy and belief system. If Gernot rorh will say on air that there is no shame in losing to Madagascar, wetin remain?

Yall can be sentimental all you like.... its all good. But the truth is even if you give Rorh the 94 eagles set, he will never change his way of playing. There was the fire I saw in the team when they played against argentina in the friendly. It involved quick exchange of passes. One would have thought he would build on it but no. He stuck to lone striker upfront at the world cup even though it failed during all the friendlies leading to the world cup. Note the way supplies are being cut off even before they reach the lone striker. But alas, he kept on with the same methods. 1st half of every game is usually a bloody waste of possession as all we did was huff balls into the air. And this is the coach we are hoping to take us to the promised land?

It dont matter whether you give him 20 years, his methods are one and the same. He never learns. He wants to implement his own system, unfortunately it hasnt worked against strong teams. Wake up everyone and lets stop being sentimental and lets call it what it is. MEDIOCRITY! I cant say I am surprised. It even reflects in the way we voted our leaders in the last elections. We might as well say Buhari should carry on till forever.

This, I wrote sometime last year. He who hath and ear, let him hear

lol, say what you want, the Nigerian team was very terrible on that day, the shots on goal you mentioned were all off target, Simon Moses couldn't deliver a good cross in the minutes he spent on the pitch. Facts don't care about your feelings. I love the Super Eagles and sincerely hope they do well against Tunisia on Tuesday.

I'm not sure you watched that game or probably just pained that we lost the game. The SE recorded three shots on target with 6 off target.
