The way the car was hyped I was expecting it to be some super monster, used my hard earned money to buy and it was a disappointment. To me, I don't care about its booring interior. But D car was almost stolen twice!!!. Park it far away, always something missing when you come back.

By D way, I still have the car, but can only drive it inside town and always pack it close to my ass.

Comprehensive insurance is 4.5per the value of the car annually .

Next time ask owners and transporters before commenting rather hurriedly and uninformed.

Bros, that post of mine was meant to be a satire. It was in response to someone who feel some cars are expensive because transporters use them without asking why transporters favour them over others in the first instance. The great Gazzuzz has given us the 'mechanic' view of the car which I can corroborate cause my mechanic once called me to ask if he has offended me grin

The only negative comments you will see, are peeps who have never owned the corolla for up to a year.

I have over 50clients who own corollas , and I can tell you one thing about that vehicle , The clean ones in very good shape nah bad market for mechanics. They only come in for oil changes. The vehicles light weight keeps the suspension fault free for a very long long time on our bad roads. It's ground clearance is ideal and keeps the exhaust and other under body parts from scraping the ground, The electronics are very basic, no complex stuff, the Engine and transmission are superb. Engine design has a maintenance free timing chain system that will exceed 299,999miles without any issues , transmission needs no special routine work, just basic oil drains every ~50k miles.

Summary it's maintenance is extremely insignificant and pocket friendly.

Oga boss, you have finally arisen.

typical Nigerian, they feel people are not entitled to their opinion, I know what your reply meant,I was not ready to go into the childishness on display on the forum, reason why I gave you that reply....but I think EVERYONE is entitled to his or her opinion in everything in this life....if you feel my point is no on for you...then trust me is not meant for you, hence no need trying to quote me to prove a point....I'm not one of those guys.(to start exchanging words with someone due to my personal opinion?, common man some of us here are way more exposed and civilised to do such, though we are few sha...lol)

Don't mind those yeye transporters that decide to stick with a particular expensive vehicle instead of a cheaper alternative, why buy an expensive Corolla for uber when Mazda 323 or C230 benz of same year is cheaper, faster with more luxurious feel? why will you use a sienna for transport when nissan quest, mercury villager and honda odyssey are cheaper? The toyota hilux vs cheaper honda ridgeline. The Oga patapata of them all is the toyota hiace aka hummer bus, it's obvious that one dey use jazz. All these vehicles became preferred choice for transporters because they have a strong dibia who do jazz for them. If you check the records too you will realize they also sold in large volumes in their country of origin when new, one wonders why that is so. I guess the buyers have prophets who foresaw Nigerians will rush the cars like dodo in later years.

I owned Honda Civic 2008 and a corrola drivetrain based Pontiac vibe ... This is how I would summarizes my experience

Corolla: a car u pay higher amount for just so you can enjoy it easy to abuse benefits (20w50 oil, China parts, late oil change etc), an illusion of the best fuel economy and to please your neighbors would belive you made the best car purchase
decision, while compromising on other qualities, that makes a complete car.

Civic: a car with better fuel efficiency , almost as durable as corrola if you stick to manufacturers maintainace and fluid, 30% cheaper {I saved 300k on my civic compare to corolla up till now I for never used the money repair the car or buy fuel finish }, no leg pull {many people think it uses the same double wishbone suspension like accords} and better handling, colder ac, fancier interior

They are the same generation, no different, 2010 prefer though since components are likely to be newer

I bought a Nigerian used 08 civic. I can proudly beat my chest to say that is the best decision i have made in a long time. First body except for bumpers, the price is far cheaper than a Naija used Corolla.,
