Everybody likes using the word: restructure like it's a magic pill. We have LGA chairpersons, reps, senators... how come schools in their districts are not world-class? Let me see just one example of a part of Nigeria that's fair and equitable to all, and I will say OK, those guys will benefit from restructuring.

Delta suffered when it was part of Western Region.
Ekiti suffered when it was part of Ondo.
Ask the beggars and codeine takers in North West and North Central if their elites give a rat's ass about them. Why would their lot improved if restructured?
Will the destitute in North East suddenly get their lives back if restructured?
Why are so many poor in Western Nigeria (including Lagos)? Why so many ritual killings? How can restructuring help them?
All those baby factories and fake medicine makers in East? How will restructuring cure that problem?
Is it lack of restructuring that's stopping the South South leaders from taking care of their people and environment?

Even when Biafra was around, the masses suffered while the elites enjoyed imported tea and chocolate.

The same senators in Abuja will be the same ones in each restructured zone... still stealing money collectively.

Youths, you've seen what your voice can do in the #EndSars campaign... do not waste your voice in 2023.

Folks like you keep on misunderstanding and misrepresenting the terminology 'restructuring' in the context of Nigeria.

Every time it is spoken people rush to conclusions, tangle themselves in zero sum arguments and tie themselves in impossible twists.

Just consider it as simple as this: 'ing' is merely a 'present participle'. It qualifies action or motion. It is not a destination or a conclusion. The call for restructuring is a call to talk as in talking, a call to walk as in walking.

Nigeria is a country that appears to be unable to connect its varied interest groupings to work out solutions to its problems. It cannot agree on practically anything that affects the lives of the ordinary citizens leaving this country always split between the contented and the aggrieved on everything.

Things such as what the definition of corruption is, how to develop its people, the role of church and state, and so many more issues of state, of citizens and of life. The present structure always presents winners and losers amongst Nigerians. This country has never seen peace since the white man came this way.

Despite all the institutions of goverment established to create social cohesion there are red lines everywhere that citizens just cannot cross to further their sense of wellbeing.

Let me ask this. Is it inherently evil to seek common values amongst all citizens?. Is it evil to come round a table and agree what is right, equitable, fair, just and progressive?

The process of keeping our desires CONSTANTLY under review is called restructuring. It is not a conclusion on any agenda. Restructuring recognises that there will never be a perfect Nigeria so like a driver our hands have to be on the wheel at all times making slight adjustments CONSTANTLY to prevent the country drifting dangerously.

This is the stand of the whole south of Nigeria. We cannot continue to sit down and allow a few incompetent people decide the fate of my region and others with their incompetence.

We have been complaining of a government who sees nothing in allowing cows from a distant region forcefully destroying crops of farmers in southern farms.

Dissolution of Nigeria will save more lives.

My brothers, it's not the terminology that's the problem: ECN (gov't) -> NEPA (gov't) -> PHCN (public holding) -> LDC (private). Still no light.
No matter how we rearrange, restructure, or restructuring the country; whether they are in one large barrel or several baskets, we still have the same bad apples.

South easterners don't fall for their ploy, they want to use us as bait.

When we said restructuring or breakup they called us ipob, now amotekuns are agitating their own, no follow them.

Restructuring or breakup only favours the SS and SW.

U heard the stats that only Lagos alone generated enough money than 33states. Amotekuns want to use restructuring and totally take over and control Lagos.

While the SS want to use restructuring and completely control all their oil blocks. Imagine how rich akwa ibom is with just 13% do u know what 50% will do?

Both of these scenarios are good but we were insulted and called names for this Mk everybody fight their fight
why are you pained? Is the oil your own?

See the simpleton trying to advice someone more intelligent than him. The political dominance your vampiric people are enjoying today was got by the blind enabling of other ethnic groups. Today, the dynamics have changed. You know it but are stubbornly willing to stake it all. Don't worry, we will oblige you. All those people you've rendered orphans are patiently waiting for their pound of flesh. From Plateau, Kaduna, Taraba, Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi down are waiting for you. Only u know what your problem is?

The north is ever strong and united. We self in the east are tired of these back stabbing southerners with no vision.

If we want restructuring we from the east will demand to be merged with the north.

The east have nothing in common with these southerners rather than some small similarities. But we have alot in common with the north

I see your point. However, what I was driving at is, no matter how many countries Nigeria becomes, the leaders of each country will be the same as the leaders in Nigeria today, unless youth choose wisely. Let me just take this "definition of what corruption is"; no region has decided that corruption is bad, as in senators, governors, reps, LGA chairmen from every place chop and clean mouth. What kind of restructuring, round table, can repair this?

Often when I mention countries that have developed in spite of their varied populations, people huffily state that we're different. UK has 4 tribes (English, Welsh, Scots, Irish) that fought for nearly 1000 years. India and China have countless ethnicities. US is made of people all over Europe (English, Germans, Irish, Italians, West Africans, Indians, etc). Malaysia, Indonesia, also, multiple ethnic groups. All with their own interests, and backgrounds.

I find no need to restructure or come to more round table discussions. Just serve your people justly and honestly.
