I don't understand why this coach didn't play Agu instead of Ajayi. Ajayi not good enough for the DMF.

Akpoguma is no good on the RB position. He should fight for the CB but seeing Omeruo and Balogun perform well in that position, I don't think he can start games.

He has to compete with Awaziem, Ajayi etc for that position.

Awaziem is good at passing the ball but not good enough for the RB position, he should bring Aina back. He is far better.

Aina, Ebuehi and Ezihubue should slog it out for the RB position.

Zaibu is not better than Collins. Dude looks ordinary for now.

Omeruo and Balogun na boss. I really enjoyed both yesterday. I think they should be starters.

Wow! Ejuke na baller. We need that kind of player in the national team but how can Rohr bring him in just 19 minutes to the end of the match when some players are obviously tired? We wouldn't have known he add something to the team if Rohr didn't play him. The same way he didn't play the goalkeepers.

Iheanacho has improved. I love almost all he did yesterday. Pressing, defending, joining the mildfield etc. Like I said before, I will use him behind the striker.

He should have passed the ball to Desser instead of shooting the ball.

Moses has improved greatly. Obviously the best winger we have now.

Chuks!? I think that coach in Villarreal has brainwashed his brain from taking a shoot. I think Rohr should advise him to try score sometimes when he has the opportunity.

Okoye is a good addition to the team but I don't believe he's better than Alampasu and Yakubu. All I see here is favouritism.

Iwobi was good yesterday. Love the way he tried to protect his mate and make the Tunisian got a yellow.

I don't know why Rohr refused to entrust the DM position to Agu instead of Ajayi. Is Rohr insinuating Ajayi is better in that position? I disagree. Rohr is just biased and prejudice.

Musa. Hmmm

Dessers showed an instinct of a striker with the way he turned and created goal scoring chance out of nothing.

Bring Azeez back to the team.

With the way i am seeing omeruo wont be the one to make akpoguma not to play

NAIRALAND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FANS AWARDS, 2020.

The year is gradually winding down, and as it has been our tradition, we roll out awards to our best performaning players in various categories within the calendar year.

However, COVID-19 has affected football matches the world over. Nigeria therefore has only 4 matches this year: The two international friendlies (Played already) and the AFCON qualifiers double header against Sierra Leone in November.

Now, the question is will these 4 games be enough to assess the team for us to make good enough judgement of how these players performed in the National team in 2020?

IF WE THINK WE CAN GO AHEAD WITH THIS YEAR'S AWARDS, PLEASE CLICK "LIKE ", AND IF NOT CLICK "SHARE".

VOTING CLOSES @ 7AM 16TH OCTOBER, 2020.

Martins was active at the time, Osaze too, Ike Uche as well, why weren't you calling for their return when Ighalo was misfiring.

So u missed all those matches Iheanacho started ba? Add Salami and Aaron Samuel.

Ighalo didn't get a clear run at the number 9 position until around the world cup qualifiers and even at that it wasn't until the AFCON qualifiers that he was undisputed number one

Yes l do.

But in a position where you have Osimhen, Ighalo Maja, Onuachu and KC. And he is a bit unlucky because it's not clear if he is any better.

Again a double standard, he should have been given opportunity donkeys ago.

However, Akpoguma who has consistently declared I'm not interested, l want to play for Germany. Changes his mind and within weeks cleared and playing in the SE for 90 minutes.

If you look at our midfield we are crying for new quality input. Yet Ovie who declared over three years ago interested as well as Eze ( abandoned) now he has blown suddenly remembered.

This is about having a level playing field and clear cut measurements and appraisal for selection of players. Not subjective perceptive based judgements.

Tijani was selected, when you look at his relationship with the NFF big wigs and pecuniary interests. It's SHOCKING. But add to that he has done nothing to justify selection beyond future speculation.

Lies doesn't make your point heavier

I am not here to impress anybody. I call it like I see it. I know a comfortable player when I see one, club side is immaterial to me. I am one of those people that cant be fooled. I have watched the Algeria match like 3 times and saw the game against Tunisia and Awaziem played better with good composure and decisive passes. Awaziem with the ball calms things down and takes pressure off the forward player. I have see Ebuehi played beautifully but remember Awaziem can displace him. At the nation's cup Awaziem was beautiful to watch.

Awaziem deserve a better club but we all know how these things go for African bred talents...never rosy. I will not argue with people with block head.

It seems like you watched a different match, please don't compare him to Ebuehi

No, you want Ebuehi to play there because he is Ebuehi the foreign boy with foreign/seperior knowledge of soccer. You dont want to accept his performance against Algeria was poor. He gave away passes and played bad passes...are you blind? However, the only thing you had to say about Awaziem is that he almost got a red card...lmao

This Rohr guy has done nothing to improve this team, the only positive from employing this man is helping us get some foreign born players based solely in Germany. We have always had this creative midfield issues, yet this yeye coach overlooked Eze while piling up the team with destroyers and lug of woods in Onazi, Agbo, Agu, Ogu etc

Chai chris no go kill person cheesy

As for those hyping Simon Moses , you got to be kidding me. Here , we have a player who has been playing regularly for club side. He is fit , inform yet ineffectual as usual. No bite , spark nor meaningful contribution. I think it's better we convert Moses Simon to a left back because Zaidu was actually more adventurous than the short man....what a nonsensical inclusion. I was pissed as ffuck.

is he a senior or junior player?

oh you are bringing U-23 but why did you complain that year when Iwobi was first invited to the national team saying he was an academy player? (which he wasn't)

So the once he played for the U23 is not counted?

We can say Agu didn't play enough minutes for me to give him a comprehensive assessment. But , for the few minutes he played I was impressed. That's about it.

Simon played 90 minutes without any meaningful impact in a match he was supposed to be an attacker....you are danm funny.

Awaziem did his job creditably well. He is a laid back defender and he plays to his strength.

Lordy , what about Ahmed Musa. Soccer nobi gra-gra. A disciplined defence will make nonsense of those unnecessary burst of pace. To make things worse Rohr started him in a twin attack with papa kelechi....this team is a joke under Rohr and I am done with keeping hope.

You converted a defender to DM when you are spoiled with two natural DMs. I cant wait for his disgraceful exit!

We never had a midfield to begin with. Semilogo didn't cost us the matches. Weren't Iwobi there with his bundle of skills!

Anybody wondered why our midfield is still lacking cohesion and creativity although Iwobi is having a great game...carpentry soccer' analysts....lol. Keep waiting for Ndidi who has always almost flopped in GWG. Nobi tackles and block go score goal for us.

While the rest of the post is devoid of sense, Asides Ebuehi I'm honestly more comfortable with Awaziem playing in RB than any other player. I'd rather even take a Full back Awaziem than a Center back Awaziem

Before we go into the technical ability, tactical intelligence and awareness, game management the first basic UNCOMPROMISING QUALITY is PACE.

In this regard Awaziem has zero pace, that alone TOTALLY DISQUALIFIES him for any Wing back or right back position.

He is absolutely not better than Aina.

A player who played a a very average season for Nantes in the French league, he couldn't generate any interest from any club, that in itself tells a story of mediocrity.

To confirm that mediocrity he ends up oh yes in the retirement league Turkey. After another anonymous season he then goes to the bargain basement of La Liga, Leganes ( most expensive player Omeruo) . He gets relegated.

His parent club said No no, not good enough and he end up in struggling Boavista.

Thats not progression but regression.

He is nowhere as good as Ebuehi or Aina.

Among the CB's he is simply just making up the numbers.
