Good day Gazzuzz, Please I have battery light come on in my dashboard (2005 corolla), I've been managing the battery since with few disappointments once in a while. I finally got money and changed the battery yesterday to a new 75am battery (Megaforce). But the battery light on the dash is till on after the replacement, infact, this time the check engine light also came on. Please what do you suggest I do?

I want to add that the light goes off once I start the car

You have charging issues, not battery issues.

Of course your battery light is not suppose to stay on when the car is switched on.

I took the car to a repair guy, he said it is normal for battery light to show on a 2003-2007 corolla. But when the light shows when the engine has started, that is surely a charging problem. He checked the alternator, removed the battery head (negative terminal) while the car was on and told me everything is fine. I'm thinking of taking the car for scanning.

Oga gazzuzz what do you say?

You need to change that technician.

You also need a technician with a digital mulitmeter to test the battery voltage, while the car is not running, and also to test the voltage while the engine is running with battery terminals connected and also with battery terminals disconnected while the car engine still runs.

When the engine isn't running, battery voltage should be around 12-12.x volts, but when car is running, you should have around no less than 14v and no more than 14.6v at extreme case.

Should you get any readings higher or less than that while engine is running, pls find the culprit and replace it.

Please can someone recommend where I can get my rims repaired/refurbished?

I have rims that have been slightly damaged bent and scratched via misadventures with the kerb and potholes.

Candid opinion rqd tho bias is also welcome - IS KIA Rio or its Cerato Model 2006 - 2010 a good reliable car for all - purpose use? Are there any common problems associated with it? How about it's general maintenance? How does it compare to say VS cost of maintaining a Corolla?

Cc Gazzuzz and other gurus. Your opinion is highly appreciated. Thanks smiley

I just ringed my Honda Pilot 2008, the car was consuming oil. There is no problem with the car prior to ringing the engine except the high oil consumption. Can I revert to the recommended oil or I should stick with the 20w 50 have been using

Good evening, Gazzuzz and other gurus in the house.
Kindly help out.
I scanned a Honda Stream 2001 engine.
It came up with p0340 code - camshaft sensor.
Like how much should I prepare for the repair?

Good evening house,
I tried to use my remote key to lock my car but the door at the driver's side kept opening back. All other doors were shut/locked. I don't know if I pressed something.

Good afternoon Gazzuz

Wifey’s 07 Lexus es350 landed in February and was serviced with mobil1 5w30 extended performance oil high mileage oil. The one that guarantees 15k miles.
I also used original oil filter.

Car is currently at 4.5k miles after servicing. Should I service again cos it’s already been 8 months since the last service...

Anytime you need help in solving car related issues always state the model and year of your car, you dont expect people who are to help you to start guessing the kind of car you drive. As for the beetle, that's sarcasm.

Hi Carlanders, am having problem with my rpm not exceeding 3000rpm, I went for scanning, we find out is the vtec solenoid that is the culprit.

We try to remove one from another EOD to test on my own, and my car rpm did just fine.

I want to know how much is it cost to get new one or Belgium.

Is there any body in Abuja who sells it. Thank you
