Paragraph 4

Thank God you agree with me that democracy is the most reliable tool for good governance. Leave Socrates alone abeg grin. Since we have realised that democratic practices have done us little good, I wager that the best thing is to change our democratic actors not collapse the entire democracy.

democracy cheesy cheesy cheesy which one? american? abi na british? which country get perfect democracy that represents the interest of the people cheesy cheesy cheesy

you think you have power but you dont, its rich men that sponsor politicians, its the rich men that choose policies

Don't bother yourself. Nigerians don't have the will and doggedness to start a revolution and see it through.

Just as Eminem said, I believe people do change only for the worse, people do change via certain exposures and ruling out the possibility of Nigerians starting a revolution and seeing it true is kinda naive. It only takes one or two missteps for things to spiral out of control then the unexpected happens. So, it's imperative to send a cautionary tale.

Paragraph 5

What is Good governance? I do NOT intend to absolve the Government but when we take realistic and logical look at the situation of things in Nigeria, the government cannot perform beyond its capabilities.

Take for instance : Nigeria's total budget for the year 2020 is a measly 34 billion dollars for a more than 200 million population. On the other hand, Kenya's budget is 25 billion dollars with a population of 52 million. You can start drawing the lines. Out of this budget, subsidy needs to be paid on electricity, fuel, education and even health. How much remain? angry. Before we now factor the oga patapata which is government corruption. angry.

how much have companies made in nigeria? find out corporate tax %, ask urself where all those funds disappeared to? abi na nnpc? or npa? lagos state alone generates billions of dollars in taxes but people like tinubu and mc oluomo are moving funds and settling boys up and down, nigeria is mismanaged

subsidy is the only benefit most nigerians get, its better to cut funding from other sources than there, find me a country without some form of social benefits for citizens, they wouldn't try it, i wonder who comes up with this ideas, coronavirus just hit and instead of cancel stupid projects its social benefits they want to attack cheesy cheesy cheesy

So covid-19 that didn't kill up to 20 twenty in Nigeria before there was lockdown that affected movement and businesses, and all these selfish individuals kept quiet. Now that it is about the killing of youths which has been occurring for year and far more than 20 have died because of SARs they are complaining.

Our selfishness is the reason this nation is suffering. Selfishness on so many levels. As long as me I am surviving and not suffering every other person can just die.

The person writing about revolution didn't mention nations that had successful revolutions.

each state should have full autonomy, scarp national assembly and senate, laws should be a local thing, everything should be regional especially police and fire, states should focus on local resources and government can tax them, if kano state can only make tomatoes, they should turn the entire state into a farm and grow that industry

america did that, some states are masters at only 1 field and use that to thrive

This James Nwofor's case needs serious investigation from the government. The atrocious acts he committed as a SARS officer are mind-boggling.

Is it low pay that turned a supposed law enforcer into a beast?

Someone I know got arrested and was taken to that akwuzu sars, dude said he was lucky to come out alive, but I didn’t really pay much attention then, cos I thought it was the regular 9ja police stuff

Conflating a pandemic induced restriction and protests blocking people's right of way is pure lack of understanding of the issue.

Your points are solid actually.

Only that we will be back to square one without industrialization.

You should go to a proper doctor who applies current guidelines and best practices. Most likely you do not have Typhoid fever which is often over-diagnosed in Nigeria because of the misleading testing method most labs/hospitals use.

This is a unique opportunity where the whole world and even politicians are listening to the Nigerian youths

I hope we use this opportunity well and make some fundamental changes. If you are honest enough we would know that we are not heading anywhere with the way the country was going

We dont need to fear if it will get worse but we just need to change the way we are going. There is a lot wrong with Nigeria, If ENDSARS will be the opportunity to correct even 10% of it then its welcome

Now we have the microphone in our hands, the world is listening, the govt looks like they are listening. We might not get this opportunity again for a long time
tinz have gotten so bad dat even those going to work are being owed salaries....so who is fooling who....we all need to make D's country change,, its all for everyone's benefit weda working or jobless

For those in favour of revolution, have a look.
The French Revolution turned into nightmare as Napoleon hijacked it and plunged Europe into internecine wars
The Bolshevik revolution in Russia ushered in a murderous communist regime
The Serbian Revolution of 1914 plunged the world into a war
The Revolution of 1966 plunged Nigeria into civil war that we are yet to recover from decades later
The Lebanon revolution of the 70s plunged the country a 15year civil war and its effect still felt till today
The Iranian revolution ushered in a pariah State in Mideast
The Iraqi revolution led to the unleashing of daesh in Levant and Iraq
Libyan revolution led to endless bloodletting and bloodbath in Libya and the effects are very much obvious
The Syrian revolution created a refugees crisis and other humanitarian catastrophe
Call me a coward or a government lackey revolution doesn't always produce the goods and even when it does they're miniscule compared to the harms
nobody is clamoring for a full blown revolution... all we are saying is let d government be responsive... if they refuse,,den d youths have no choice

This is shameful on all counts.

You can make your point devoid of the embarrassing comparison of death rate tallies of 2 separate social issues.
