I for one, from the first minute I saw those videos, repeatedly remarked that the soldiers were firing into the air and not at protesters.

That is the narrative that is being questioned.

The soldiers were clearly there. That they fired is not in doubt.

That they fired at anyone is where the doubt lies, and so far there is still no evidence. Because even this person who is claiming to have conducted forensic examination affirms that the soldiers were firing upwards.

1. Were soldiers from the NA present at Lekki tollgate at a time when the curfew was not yet in effect?
2. Were the lights turned off?
3. Were shots fired, or did we hear gunshots?

The answers to these are all that matters.

Whether you're counting 5 deaths or 65 deaths, is really besides the point.
