Unknown hoodlums on Saturday, looted about 15 shops at Agbeni Ologede market in Ibadan, Oyo State capital before setting them ablaze.

The incident which occurred at about 6:00 am on Saturday, November 7, was said to have caused panic at the market and its environment as a result of exchange of fire between the personnel of Operation burst and the hoodlums.

The Deputy Director of Oyo State Fire Service, Moshood Adewuyi, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that trucks taken to the scene to put out the fire were attacked by the hoodlums, while the firefighters on the peace-keeping assignment were stoned.

He added that the timely intervention of the officers and men of the operation burst later brought normalcy to the area, noting that only 10 shops were identified to have been razed while others were burnt beyond recognition.

According to Oyo Affairs correspondent, two persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Our leaders are the real hoodlums.

You embolden touts and thugs by paying them to disrupt a peaceful protests - a protest that would have inadvertently led to the beginning of a new nation.

You have shown the jobless, the hungry and the hopeless ones an easy route to survival. Now you can no longer control the monster you created.

: Allow youths to protest...be sincere in dealing with them... otherwise you'll force them underground to become guerillas.

Anyway I'd await the whole story.

Great to see how the Oyo state government has a responsive fire brigade with water to help reduce the damage.
How many of the 36 states and the FCT have such

The Buhari led administration has ignited the fire again and the hoodlums are set on rampage...

The masses are tired of bad Leadership... Soon, they will start entering the houses of the Politicians... Let these Politicians do the right thing and start yielding to the voice of the masses that gave them mandate to lead.

How can these Politicians be this heartless, wicked and greedy... In a Nation that has all it takes to be great but only Politicians wants to live large...

Is this the Change we were promised? They said we should bear with their failures... Imagine

The story is not connecting.... why loot a shop and then set it on fire? Are you trying to hide your finger print and evidence that might lead back to you?

I guess this another hand work of Fulani Jihadist, those guys are ruthless and heartless

This story doesn’t add up

I HOPE I MADE SENSE

There is no way this criminality can be rationalized. If those hoodlums got shot and killed while looting and destroying other people's means of livelihood then they deserved it because they never loved life, in the first place.

Go to the houses of the Political class... Leave the innocent market traders alone...

Channel your plights and anger rightly... They forgot that the hoodlums they referred to were the people they use as machineries during election periods and abandon them afterwards

The hoodlums are also demanding for their right from the useless leaders in government... Where they not the ones that made them perpetual hoodlums when they have refused to provide a working Nation.

Presidency no be do or die, Governor no be a must... Resign if you don't have what it takes to profer visible solutions to the plights of NIGERIANS... You Politicians can't continue fooling the masses anymore... It's game over

Policing is a collective effort. Nigerian Police Service should be restructured thus.

It is a collective effort and psychopathic arsonists like those need to be locked up in a prison facility within a psychiatric hospital because there is need to address their pyromania.
