Seerade029: When it comes to oil, the states with the most are Akwa ibom, Delta and Rivers state. The LGAs within the most oil are Oyigbo and ONELGA, both in Rivers state. The states with the most gas reserves are Imo and Anambra 2 Likes |

Dangote industries has the colonial company running scared. They had decades to operate refineries in 9ja but they came up with a scheme to refine the oil and gas off-shore, up the price, then re-import it. And Naija's so-called leaders have been part of the scam since the beginning. "Shell started business in Nigeria in 1937 as Shell D'Arcy and was granted an exploration license. In 1956, Shell Nigeria discovered the first commercial oil field at Oloibiri in the Niger Delta and started oil exports in 1958. ... Many Nigerians thought the developers were looking for palm oil." |

PHijo: Choi! Minorities eh. I was going to tackle you here, but I can see my Igbo brothers have already been giving you the treatment that you very much need in this thread. What you need to know, there was never a time where any Igbos state was subject to riverines, not even your wildest dreams. In those days, minorities knew to mind their own business, because they knew they weren't going to Igboland acting anyhow and coming back in one piece. What you need to know is that, basically all riverine states worthy of mention were dominated and controlled Igbos and if not, tried their best to get into the good graces of the more influential and more economically powerful Igbo states farther up north. Igbos have avoided the history between them and you folk as they don't think it to be an important matter. But if you keep provoking the bear, you might find yourself face to face with a row of sharp teeth and equally keen claws. 11 Likes |

OfoIgbo: Akwa Ibom oil is mostly offshore, that is why their revenue from crude oil spiked after they won the offshore/onshore dichotomy case and the lose of Bakassi that removed Cross River as a litorial state and granted Akwa Ibom all the rights to the offshore oil within 200 miles from the shore. The largest onshore oil reserves in Nigeria lies in Igboland. Calling some of us Niger Delta or SS through arbitrary boundary demarcation that was senselessly done doesn't mean we are no longer Igbos. Any future delineation or boundary adjustments will go way back and rely on facts that existed both prior and during colonial rule, and they all recognized all those areas as Igboland. Even if a referendum were to be conducted as well, majority will still go with Igbos nation as against going with the minorities that will automatically put everyone at the mercy of Ijaws. People don't know that why Wike and his ikwerre people are struggling to force Igbos in Rivers State to deny being Igbos is because they're afraid to be left alone with Ijaws. The fate of Ikwerres is already sealed because whatever happens, whether Nigeria remains or breaks, they will always have Ijaws to contend with since both groups can lay claim to P.H. Instability has made P.H to remain stunted over the years, despite having a headstart, being a port city, being the capital of the oil region and a state with massive budget. In the 1960's, the difference between Lagos and P.H was negligible in terms of development, but you can't compare the two now in any way. While Lagos has continued to develop massively, P.H on the hand remained stunted. 5 Likes |

CodeTemplar: It’s not late at all. Gas is the future of fossil fuels and for the south east, this means gas-to-power projects delivering electricity and enough gas for industrial applications. The rise of fast-paced manufacturing! Even though one may want to reference the energy transition to renewables, having the largest gas reserves in Nigeria for a small area as the southeast is a huge advantage. The gas would produce electricity which can be used to key into the electric future for transport, manufacturing etc. 1 Like |

NigerDeltaIgbos: Make Port Harcourt the capital of Nigeria and move all federal agencies, parastatals and equally move embassies and foreign missions. Then Check back after 10yrs. You are making comparison without sincerity. How far has Enugu and Ibadan fared, at least they had a headstart to Port Harcourt. 5 Likes |
